Consider the speed is estimated based on KV of the brushless motor without any load. For very high speed it might be necessary to replace some electronic parts.

How would this sheet apply to an old evader st with a 23T/48P Pinion 78T/48P Spur Gear 18T/48P Top Gear 29T/48P Idler Gear and a 48T/48P Diff Gear? 2S Lipo 3900KV Brushless Motor?
I'm having a very hard time finding the diff pinion gear and diff ring gear on my arrma vortex. Does arrma cars not have these ?

hi i have a 15tooth steel pinion gear with a 48tooth steel spur gear in my buggy.question is that the width of the pinion gear is wider than that of the spur.Therefore,do i sit the pinion in the centre of the spur gear or should it be flush completely with the spur? thanks for any help rendered! cheers!
I would go with the center.
Center it 4 shure, if you flush mount it, under load if the armature happens to move alittle vertically you may not have full mesh allowing penion to rip teeth out ✌️

Its fun playing with the options i have clicking on the link. I have the potential to hit 81.38 mph with a set of gears and tire sizes i have... or i could go full torque and gear down to 47.58 mph and a baby tractor pull lol! THUMBS UP AND SUBBED
Hi, please give me your spur gear and motor pinion gear specs.(maybe ebay link etc) I want to try these out. My spur is plastic and runs out very quikly. Yous looks like metal and much wider.

How do you learn the dimensions of the spur, tires, and pinion?
My motor is rated in turns, how can I convert to kv?
I also know my drive ratios, do I still have to count gears?

very helpful file,thanks .but i tried to calculate my hpi savage speed using this ,it shows ridiculous speeds like 100++km/hr which is not even close to what i m getting on track.
What kind of track ? dirt ground ? asphalt only ? asphalt with rain ? poor quality asphalt ? mud ? And also depends what electronics you have good quality cheap quality how old is your battery you charge fast the battery or slow. How much C discharge is your battery. You must make some speed runs with no wind in very straight road with no uphill or downhill. You play in hot weather very hot weather cold or very cold weather ? Each parameters and all together play their roll in the total amount, so remember all those parameters and you will take different amount each time. When i was playing with my nitro engine an rc store told me that an engine with the same settings gives you different amount on cold weather and different amount in summer and of course different temperatures every time. Exactly the same is with the electric rc models. Also when you play with your rc model in track or in freemode runnings you have different temperatures each times and different levels of pushing in your rc model.

quick question I have to serpent buggy 811 with the 1850 KV motor 120 amp ESC I'm trying to set this up for drag racing what gearing should I use 4S capable
+RALPH FOX Hi, I cant give you exact gear ratio but i think you have a lot of torque with your combo und you should try different pinions. You can get better acceleration not only using different pinions. Good RC contoller, good esc, short and big esc wire, good big lipo/esc connectors do it too. The serpent buggy is good RC car for RC tracks. What distance do you want to drag race?

What if I told you this is my exact setup in my RC car 4 pole 2150VK 6s 160amp ESC 😍 she rips and I clocked it at 100+Kmh I haven’t been able to send it flying yet because I’m scared lol this is my first RC car and I built it for speed off-road and on road 🤗

I hear ya, but it's "YOYO" (you're on your own!). listen for 75-80% of no load rpm's when it's full throttle is usually a happy start point, add or subtract pinion teeth for longer or shorter tracks ("legs vs snap") and check motor temp at 4 minutes. if you cant touch it 4-5 seconds you're geared too darn high! it's not very "tekky" but I've been doing it like this 30+ years with electric cars and boats.

+Nicholas Byrne-Chinn Hi, its not easy thing with the metal gear. Search "SSA Modul 1" 36 or 40 T. 40T dont fit and you need to mill the chassis plate. 36T fits but for reasonable gear ration you need pinion about 9T.

could of made it much faster if u switched the gears that connect the drive shaft with the motor

No see. You will burn motors and tear through gears. None of this makes sense from an experimental standpoint. However, it's a good reference guide if you have a good understanding of the material that you're installing.
