I just discovered your channel and definitely appreciate the great catches. I'm very familiar with the airport and have done a lot of spotting there (nothing uploaded) going all the way back to my early teen years in the 1980's. Going further back I remember seeing my grandma board a jumbo 747 or 707 in 1974 or 1975; destination was London England. I was very young but remember the event clearly. It was at the old International Terminal and I'm pretty sure that Pan Am was the carrier. I liked seeing the FedEx arrival at 13:35. It's rare to see a first generation DC-10-10 today. Because of it's shorter length this model wasn't equipped with a centerline landing gear. An old time acquaintance of mine flew the 757 & 767 for FedEx.
I know it's not an MD-11, lol. It's an MD-10. It's a DC-10 that's been updated to have the MD-11's cockpit, meaning it no longer needs a flight engineer.
China Cargo Airlines 747 diverted to DTW last night. It was amazing in the sunset, but would have been hard to capture as it wasn’t scheduled. I happened to see it on FR24. Always nice to see the Queen come to DTW.
This is a DC-10 not a MD-11. I can't believe Delta are still using those old 767 and the 717 which no airline uses anymore. They have to buy more A-350 to substitute those 767
It’s an MD-10, which is essentially a DC-10 with MD-11 avionics. Those older airplanes are workhorses and work perfectly for the routes they fly. Sure they may be inefficient, but the cost may be a lot cheaper than buying an entirely new fleet. Obviously in the long run they’ll be replaced, but why replace something that still has many years of life left in it?
Delta won't be 100% Airbus. They just finished taking delivery of more than 130 737-900ERs and they plan on being the launch customer of Boeing's 757 replacement. Plus they still have plenty of life left in their 717s and 777s
I've been on that very first flight, just not sure when it was filmed. I flew on May 15 2019 (Around 4pm take off, can't remember). DTW-FRA. LH443, I still have my ticket! We hit some rocky ass turbulence over the Atlantic too!
Nice video!!! Love the Lufthansa A340 and the Delta A350
My favorite aircrafts were the FedEx MD-10, Lufthansa A340, and Delta A330s, A350s, and 767s. My most favorite was the Lufthansa A340-600
0:04 that sounds of the Airbus A340 though! 😲
Those delta 757's, 767's, and a330's are awesome!!! Great video!!!
Lepp,I can't believe you always try on your videos. You are a GREAT!!!! plane spotting guy,and the camera skills
1 Million Hearts for that Lufthansa A340-600 😍😍😍
Beautiful wide-body and narrow-body jet compilation, I hope I get to see Lufthansa's A346 again sometime!
Another great video. The effort you put in to provide the aircraft/route is very much appreciated.
Fantastic shots at Detroit Wayne County Airport mate
Detroit is probably one of the better airports to watch planes

Noice. I do love it when people give info about the flights, and you did it perfectly!
Yet again great video
I didn't expected the A346 at the beggining to be that loud
Btw, at 13:44 that wasn't a MD-11, it was a DC-10

Amazing video dude love the departures and arrivals
How do you know where the planes come from and where they’re going? Can you tell me what you use to find out? Thanks!
Flightradar24 is what I use
@@LeppAviation Thank you!!
*Amazing spotting, loved the A340.*
Gonna miss the 340s when they're gone, especially the looooooooong sixes with the grinder Rollers.
Really stunning compilation man!
Very cool! Great Video!
0:02 was the best sounds on that A340 Lufthansa!
Where did you post up? I live on Eureka and get views similar to this where I live.
Another great vid, keep it up🔥
Is there no spot to view and video near / at the runway?
Hey mate :)
At 9:28 I flew N176DN on DL96 ;) Almost the same flight. I've had a great experience. And did you ever fly Delta on a long-haul flight ?
Nice! And no, I have not yet been on a long haul Delta flight yet. Farthest I've gone is DTW-LAX on a 767!
@@LeppAviation Well you should definetely try them on a long haul flight !! Tested and approved XD
@@matheo9246 I definitely would like to! Can't afford it right now though haha
@@LeppAviation well you know, on Expedia you can get very cheap flights from anywhere to anywhere.
@@matheo9246 Oh I've looked, believe me lol. But on a college budget, everything is expensive.
Nice growl from the A340-600!!!
That was me on the A340 Lufthansa omg!
I'm surprised to only see the one 717 and no MD-88 or MD-90 for Delta.
Delta is phasing out the MD series.
Was on a united flight from Newark that day, that had to go around !

Yeah I saw that! An LH 748 also came in. Couldn't make it out to see either unfortunately
DTW doesn’t see 747s very much anymore, sadly, since Delta retired theirs. :(
I find takeoff spotting to be so much better than landing.
Where were you filming during the first one?
Amazing spotting,
where were u spotting at here?!?!
Awesome.
I like the info on the planes as to their age, etc.
great video
The Detroit metro airport is only 1.5 hours from my house, maybe I’ll go plane watching ✈️
I am near the Detroit Airport! Can I ask where you were plane spotting? (street name(s)?)
The departures were filmed at the Marriott on Wick Rd and the arrivals were filmed at the industrial park across I-275
lepp was the rwy flipped so heavies took off 4R?
My favorite airplane is the a340.
Which parking lot did you shoot the video ?
This was the Marriott parking lot
@@LeppAviation awesome, I might go check it out sometimes

Welcome to Delta nation
That Lufthansa Airbus A340 looks like a American airlines Boeing 777 taking off
Wow, that a340
My favorite aircraft’s 0:03 13:37 15:14
Delta go to fleet 100% Airbus. I prefer AA!

With Boeing's issues that's a good thing.
Exelwnt
Lufthansa a340 look good
