I'm so happy you chose to analyze this song. This was the track that really got me into her as an artist and it was mainly due the lyriscism. I was blown away by the honesty, self awarness and overall picture she created of the sun setting and being cast in her ex lovers elongated shadow as he walks away all while metcontextually refering to her emotional state. Particularly "the sky above ablaze that only lovers see" paints such a rich picture physically and emotionally. I still listen to this song on repeat. It makes my spotify top 5 every year and I don't anticipate that changing anytime soon.
Great video, great song. From the technical standpoint I love how the lush spring reverb is woven into the sound, so subtle that I had to use some decent cans to separate it from the rest. Well that may as well be a plate, which sounds somewhat similarly, but I really can’t tell. Either way both of them are the staples of the sound of that era.
whoa this video only has 512 views?! I thought it’d have 500k! What a fantastic video, thank you!! I wanted a lyric analysis, which was excellent, and it gave so much more! Thank you!! 👏🏼👏🏼
Great video. So many of her songs deserve this in-depth analysis. Also it’s a shame you didn’t cover the original ballad version and compare and contrast it to the album version

I wanted to but the video is already 37 minutes long 🤣 I am definitely open to a part two on the ballad version though!
