A proper Frank Cannon mobile. There's a lot of work there, what's probably most crucial is the state of the metal under the vinyl top as the vinyl could have trapped moisture against the metal once it started to break down, and if the roof structure has rotted then, realistically it's a parts car.
Without a doubt, these are the best Highway Cruisers ever made. They just float down the highway. The power steering in these cars is fantastic, you could steer with your pinky. Like driving a couch down the highway.
Mike, I own a RAM and had a 78 Mk V so great video! The Lincoln exterior color is "Cream". It has the Interior Luxury Group option in "Cream" leather; the trim (dash, carpet, etc. ) is "Jubilee Gold". I had the identical interior colors. The Cartier clock was standard on all MK's; this car is not a Cartier. Cartier's were only "Champagne" paint with Champagne and red trim interiors. The headlight doors open indicate vacuum issue; various vacuum leaks common. 1978 was the last year for a 460 V8, more desirable than base 400. Vinyl tops were optional so trim could be removed and entire car painted Cream and forgo the vinyl top. The length of the car is 19'-2". Awesome cars; I'd like to see one brought back! Keep producing the great content!
Soooo, ya got MY vote on the MK VI, it has a 460 too, last year in full-size fords & lincolns, I REALLY think the body's condition overall is GOOD, that's why I say address the top & related rust areas around it FIRST
Mike when I was a working mechanic back in the day I worked on so many of these Lincoln’s . I really liked them 🤷♂️. This one is rough but still restorable for the right person . Happy Holidays .
I got a feeling other than the top & those common rust spots, that MK VI is actually a nice vintage car. the carpet is a common color for interior accents in Fords of the periods, like if the interior says creme, which THAT is, the carpet & dash & lower door panels will be that shade of gold, & if ya DO geet it, first thing I'd do would be to address the top, I got a good feeling about what you'll see if ya give it a good bath, & those lincolns outta that period will literally FLOAT do the highway, like a couch, provided you can get it for a REASONABLE price, sounds like you'll be able to talk to the previous owner & find out a lot about it, & the actual colors OF that car ARE creme with creme interior & top, call it a "triple creme"
I love watching your shows cause you never know what you’re gonna run all up into all the cars the 70s sometimes the 60s I knew somebody that had a 77 Lincoln might’ve been 76. Those things are a big old boat the front end of those things somebody wouldn’t even get hurt I’d go for that Lincoln Mikefix that up like you did with that. It was the trailblazer or the blazer bring life back to it find the owner that was gonna work on it taking him for a ride in it. Good luck.
Mike, a tip for sorting the seat in your Ram is to find a passenger seat in the matching trim then dismantle that for the cover and foam cushion if it has collapsed or become squashed. The driver's seat gets used every time the vehicle does but the passenger seat doesn't get used anything like as much so the trim cloth and foam cushion doesn't take anything like as much wear and, for economy in building the vehicles, the passenger seat base cushion and trim are almost always identical to the driver's. Plus, passenger seats from a salvage yard are often a lot cheaper than driver's seats because a lot of people are looking for good driver's seats to replace the worn out one in their vehicle but not a lot of people know the trick about the seat bases often being identical so there's much less demand for passenger seats.
Mike in the video the radiator core support almost appears to have been burnt! All the factory paint is gone and it’s rusted. Did it have a carb supply hose leak and it caught fire and repaired? Very common! But with that said it still would warm my heart to see this old gal back on the road!!😃😁😃
Mike's sense of fun is what makes his videos so enjoyable. At 230" in length, the Mark V was the longest 2 door coupe ever marketed by Ford. The Mark V was a hit when new and remains popular with Lincoln collectors. They are very easy to work on and restore. They do have a very thirsty 460 V8 - likely 9 mpg city and maybe 13/14 mpg highway. Neat low budget trick to wake up the 460: install timing gears from an earlier 460 (1970?) before they built in cam timing retard for emissions.
I bought a 78 Mercury Grand Marquis two-door coupe fully loaded back in the 90s rode like a dream I sold it to a friend that needed a car never saw him or the car again I should have never sold it had this fender skirts silver and grey red pinstripes
Hey Mike if you bye the Lincoln I will watch every video that you make and give them thumbs up and I will tell all my friends to watch every video you make and give them thumbs up and I will try to bring other people to your channel I don't think that Lincoln needs much work other than like you said a paint job and the little bit of rust work around the vinyl top?
Another great walk around I enjoyed this alot and that ram is pretty nice and shoot i would drive it just the way it is with the bumper squished in it dont effect anything. And thag Lincoln is pretty cool too and u should get it and try to bring her back to life it would be cool to see u work on it and bring her back to life. Anyways thanks for sharing keep up the great work much love to ya have a good one take care god bless and have a very Merry Christmas and I iwll see ya on the next one mike
That Lincoln would be a hoot to get running! Watch the rust under the Landau top, though. Don't know how badly you want to weld sheet metal but you might need to. I'd rip the vinyl right off, save what you can and paint it. I've even seen people do a decent job of spraying bed liner on and making a longer lasting replacement (Junkyard Digs and Pole Barn Garage)
I still clean my BFG white letters with SOS pads on my old Buick Wildcat to get them nice and white. I believe the blue soap in them was Comet at one time not sure if it still is.
Hey Mike. My Lincoln mark V with only 14710 miles just burned down after getting work done. I hope someone does it justice and buys it from Copart. I’ve been watching you Mike for so long and love your videos! If you want to see my Lincoln it’s on my page. It’s at Copart in Chicago area now and getting the insurance inspection.
@@Leo-DaGreek I got work done at a mechanic the day before for electrical work I’m thinking they are at fault. Started insert the dash they are know for a door fire.
I own and drive only in the summer on 1978 Continental mark five, Just that mine is like new and Babied from new, It would be a worthwhile car too save, Greetings from Canada
If you get the Lincoln, it would be soooo cool to find Ron and show it to him all fixed up, maybe even go for a drive with him in it.
I'd love to see you fix up the Lincoln.
I'd love to see you fix up that boat Lincoln. The interior is in great shape and a cheap Maco paint job would do the trick. :P
Buy the Lincoln!

If you clean the Lincoln up, I would LOVE a "Mom and Tom" review...
YES YES YES

I had a 77 Mark 5 and it was a glorious beast, 460 baby!!

I keep waiting for a video on your new Ram Mike, can’t wait to see you work on it and of course a video on Truthful Tom seeing it!
That Lincoln is beautiful, hope you get it and save it, would love to see come back to its former glory.

Beautiful Lincoln. Those were the good solid metal and comfy cars.
You gotta get the land yacht. It would be so much fun to watch you bring it back to life.
get the Lincoln! you've fixed way harder lol
I can't imagine you taking that Lincoln to your mom's house and showing it to Tom.
Mike buy the Lincoln and bring her back to life again, that would be a great video
Get dat conitental
That Lincoln wouldbe great on the channel! Definitely a lot of work ahead, that no start could be the electrical gremlin that caused Ron to give up.
QT should be sponsoring you 😂

Get the Lincoln
😮yes Mikey
That Lincoln would be cool to fix up, probably could find one in better shape if you keep an eye out.
Mines gonna go up soon. I would recommend someone buying a second car with a Interior and inside wiring harness since the first came from the dash
Hold out for a nicer one! This will cost a fortune to bring back even close to original. That was so cool of the prior owner to leave note.
Merry Christmas Mike, thank you for all your efforts, content, plus smiles throughout the year, looking forward to 2025 Paul🇬🇧
That appears to be a 77 Mark V, first year, with the Cream and Gold Luxury Group and is approximately nineteen feet long.
I bought a 78 Mercury Grand Marquis two-door coupe fully loaded back in the 90s rode like a dream I sold it to a friend that needed a car never saw him or the car again I should have never sold it had this fender skirts silver and grey red pinstripes
Keep it up Mike, happy holidays we love the work you do!

Mark 5 the duck and girl will love it happy happy
Back in my grade school days my classmate's parents had one of those Lincolns. It was "Pink Champaign" color and beautiful.
We should split the buy it now . !
That lifted ram is just a bro-doozier!!
@Monkey Wrench Mike
You or Randy should have the Lincoln!! Definitely need to place your bids on that car!!!
1980 Lincoln mark five to be exact that we had
That looks like one of the variable Venturi carburetors a pain in the ass to adjust and get right
They all had Cartia, clocks, don’t believe it’s a designer series.should say on Oprah window
That Continental is peak 1970s America.
randy said you and him that would be good content for you channel
hey mike when will get to see a video on that ram you got please love ur channel
If it was a '74, I'd suspect the seatbelt starter interlock was keeping it from cranking 🙄
Get ahold of Derek Bieri over at vice grip garage. That Lincoln has his name written all over!
If you don't want the Lincoln call POLE BARN GARAGE👍🏻 he would kill for that motor
That Lincoln is soooooo cool. Too bad it’s so far neglected
Buy the Lincoln!! Great cotent
I would take the Mark v any time. The rust rept is minimal
I like it Mike.
i had 1979 lincoln mk5 with working 8 track player am/fm plenty of power.
Ron’s old car seems like a big project 💯
That was really kind of Ron to leave a note of all he did
I just love those older cars like that Lincoln. hi5
Awesome truck! Kept keep yours
Mike, the Lincoln would explode you're channel.
Hello Mike aka Monkey Wrench Mike. The Ram 1500 with a Hemi is a good looking truck. The 1975 Lincoln Mark 5 is a decent looking car.
Very cool Lincoln hope you can get it, those ride so nice
Go for the Lincoln!
( I’d love to see it fixed but, man, those early emissions cars are such a pain-in-the-ass to work on- what a nightmare!)
Baby Puke Brown!😂😂😂. Yes, that’s an original Ford color!
buy the classic Lincoln....bring it back to life....I know you will love to do it but the cost might be high
Lincoln would be really a great fixer upper, color is very 1970,s
Hey Mike Lola Benzo the wonder duck.
i cant wait to see the Mazerati Ghibli vedeo !!
Another great walk around I enjoyed this alot and that ram is pretty nice and shoot i would drive it just the way it is with the bumper squished in it dont effect anything. That Dodge truck is an '04 anything past the 6th month on the production date is the next model year
I like the Lincoln Mike 😎😎👍👍it has potential 💯💯

My parents had the same color in the LTD version and the same year. WOW memories
I would love to do CoPart...but in California you need a dealers license
My mom had a 1979 Lincoln Mark V just like that one. It had paint problem too.
Don't forget bigger tires bigger gas bill .
Freddy Fender tape is worth picking that Lincoln up for sure. A big barge with a 460 probably gets great fuel mileage 😂
My mother used to make really good pecan/cherry/blueberry and fresh chocolate pudding pies for me. There’s no cooking like mom’s cooking.
“Is not a baby puke brown; is like a diarrhea green or something” 🤣🤣🤣
Looks like the interior of the Alanis Morissette Ironic music video car.
Love me some FREDDY
Keep your truck
Sure Mike, jack your truck up just like that. Just carry a five foot step ladder 🪜 around so that you can get in and out of it. 😂
😀
I still clean my BFG white letters with SOS pads on my old Buick Wildcat to get them nice and white. I believe the blue soap in them was Comet at one time not sure if it still is.
Have both ram
Nice Lincoln... One would need to peel that top off, and address the rust... I expect the girl economy would be bad... That dodge is interesting...
Buy it, buy it, buy it!!! 😂
I think that was Frank Canon's (TV detective) car.
Hey when we will see your white Mercedes moving? 👍
Hey Mike. My Lincoln mark V with only 14710 miles just burned down after getting work done. I hope someone does it justice and buys it from Copart. I’ve been watching you Mike for so long and love your videos! If you want to see my Lincoln it’s on my page. It’s at Copart in Chicago area now and getting the insurance inspection.
hi, what is your page?
So sorry for your loss. 😢
My Father sold out after a few years because of the electrical problems, there known to burn 🔥 down, might be what happened to yours?🎄🎅
@@Leo-DaGreek I got work done at a mechanic the day before for electrical work I’m thinking they are at fault. Started insert the dash they are know for a door fire.
