Massive problem for me was number 1. I left my partner after trying again properly. I had a panic attack for a week and assumed this was just myself telling me "this is the wrong relationship for you, you are going to hurt her down the line". I then left her and felt (TRIGGER WARNING) humongous relief because i "felt" i had done the right thing because i "was" going to hurt her down the line. I was fine for months but actually just living in a ignorant bubble of bliss. This got popped 9 months later when i saw her again and felt humongous regret, guilt and shame. Then i found out its ROCD! Now i'm too scared to go back to her...🤦‍♂️
All very hypocritical from me so learn from me! Stay with your partners people! Dispute the beliefs about the relationship, about cheating. You are deserving of love and companionship. At the very least say, lets not act on anything now. Lets give it a few months and see what happens. You don't have to leave instantly! Just because a thought has a feeling attached to it, it doesnt make it fact!

Awesome input ECT! It's SO convincing, and like I said, when you leave you DO get a massive hit of relief!

@comepiel3635 So it's been a year since then, I worked really hard on my beliefs about cheating, my partner and working on USA, UOA and ULA. Eventually I did get back woth my partner! This time with the tools! I'm not recovered but have found alot more peace with my situation. This stuff works!

Nick, i love the way you are not afraid to say when some advice is in your words garbage. You are so right in this. We need to be careful what advice we take as truth. Even if the people who are giving this advice mean no harm and are only trying to help it is important to research advice very carefully.

Absolutely! It’s very easy to misinterpret ocd when one hasn’t experienced it first hand.

I really related to the last one! The fear of buying a house together is really strong right now. This video was great, thank you!

I have a massive anxiety and got triggered by someone saying that they suffered in their choice of business and left to do what they really felt like doing. And I thought "i am suffering in this relationship". My anxiety started within a week of my relationship. I had like 2 days of in love experience and then it was gone and the anxiety and rumination started. We are 3 years into the relationship and have a daughter together. But my doubts are still here.

Hey andriy! We work with these types of fears a lot - have you tried breaking down the core fears surrounding your ocd cycle?

@@aguywhohikes1271 Ive tried breaking down the fears , but I don't think ive been consistent with it in order for it to have an effect.

@@andymanland consistency is important + giving up reassurance/confessing your thoughts which is extremely common in ROCD related fears.
