One rocd theme that pops up for me -I guess it is a theme?- is grieving the romantic relationships portrayed in media, films and literature. Being in a long-term relationship myself, I see that love and commitment are more mundane than all those depicted images of love in the media. It is as if I cannot accept that long-term relationships are not so full of infatuation and romantic crazy love stories. I know how irrational these thoughts are but still, it is a grievance that I notice within me and that fuels my rocd. Or maybe my rocd is the result of all those messages that I have always absorbed about what love should look like in a relationship.

Hey there! You have such a strong tone and body language! This is so helpful for people who has ocd 😂 because one time listening is not enough! That is a tip over here! Keep repeating this lecture! Don’t just listen once and feel relieved and forgets about it! Thanks again ❤

Oh my god this is literally the best video I’ve seen about ROCD in forever! I loved the comparison of relationship “certainty” to feeling certain about driving on a highway or running a business. The analogy about a relationship being like running a business and needing to problem solve as the issues come helped a lot too. Lots of great content!

I kissed somebody whilst in a relationship, so cheated once. My partner forgave me, can you do a video about not being able to forgive yourself?

Hey nel! Like rob said we will cover this in our upcoming ROCD part 1 and 2 webinars! But the most important piece is feeling the discomfort of not needing to know if it’s PP depression vs ocd. That’s a dead end for us!

@@aguywhohikes1271 thanks for your answer, I try to sit with uncertainty of not knowing but then I'm worrying that if I do therapy for ocd like erp and then found out that was not ocd but ppd then I'll make the wrong therapy and it'll be worse instead of get better, I know it can maybe sound stupid but I keep thinking of making the wrong thing and never being able to recovery of whatever it is that I struggle with.

Not saying everyone who cheats in a terrible person, but why exactly did you say lying is bad/ wrong but cheating isn't? You're hurting someone else and breaking their trust? How is it different to lying when you've agreed to a monogamous relationship? Yes right and wrong are social constructs and there is no inherent good and evil, but it's completely fine to think cheating is wrong. Why the distinction from lying when they both cause pain to your partner and break their trust? Nobody has to accept cheating and just not see it as wrong.

Why is the fear of being cheated on never ever covered it is a theme!!!! Please for the love of God could some just do a video about this! Phone checking, counting your sexual encounters per week, where they are, are they telling the truth. Do they enjoy sex with you and the list goes on and on and on
