Hello from Jakarta! We are back!
So many of you commented on our videos and told us we must check out PIK 2, so after Mount Bromo, we came back to Jakarta and went straight to the PIK area and explored!
We didn't realize initially that there are 2 areas, PIK and PIK 2, we started in PIK and explored the Batavia area, made our way over to PIK 2 and checked out La Riviera Kota Amsterdam, made our way back to Aloha and the next night, we went to Chinatown in PIK!
This was so unexpected, the area is beautiful and doesn't feel like you're in the hustle and bustle of Jakarta at all!

You should visit Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in East Jakarta. TMII is a showcase of Indonesian culture presentated each province by real size traditional houses and has some museum too. You can visit also new renovated bird park and komodo museum. You can reach TMII by LRT Jabodebek from dukuh atas station. Another must visit is Bogor Botanical Garden, its one of the oldest botanical in the world and its part of Presidential Palace complex . You can reach BBG by commuterline train to Bogor ( around 1 hour ).

Normally people come in the afternoon after 4pm when the weather is much cooler. They come for eating. You may visit the mangrove park nearby.
PIK is like a new town, very well maintained and good managed from private management, it is an area for rich people and business people, ordinary people like me rarely visit that place haha
It was quite expensive, we had fun but still prefer more local areas 🙏🏼🇮🇩
Fam, u truly became my medicine for my current homesickness atm, I am born and raised in Jakarta, ive been to PIK a couple of times and always enjoyed my time there with family n friends. Now im far away in Germany, and I truly miss Jakarta cause its my home, where I grew up, where I made friends, where I can enjoy wonderful comforting food. Damn, am truly thankful for your videos as they feel very relaxed and not fast paced like some other channels. You took your time to enjoy the views and surroundings, which is the reason why I love your videos. Wish me luck here in Germany, I can't wait for the time I will take my holiday leave and go back to my home country. Of course, I wish you and your channel the best of luck too!

It is recommended to go to PIK at night as it won't be that hot. Also the street lights there are truly beautiful at night along with its massive food stores.

When you recorded this video, the Greater Jakarta area was being hit by a dry season where rain had not fallen for months. Causing everything to become dry and barren, dusty and very hot. At first glance it looks like a desert area. But it's great to see you guys enjoying your trip. 🎉.

You seem to have ventured into the newly developed housing district. 😉 Instead, head towards the Kota Tua and Thamrin regions where you'll find the Presidential palace and old downtown.
This area its really develop, its Chinese community, well of course cause Chinese community in Indonesian county have 80% of total economic, if we are compare with Sundanese comunity or society its really huge, even we compere with Javanese comunity & society, but i love how they developed, really good

Some tourism spot in Indonesia have more visitors than the daylight time because a lot of Indonesian prefer to do it at night we don't like sun burn 😂 we has nocturnal habits

the bike price is actually fair. PIK area in a whole is quite expensive since a lot of upper class chinese indonesian live there, and the rent price for tenants is high so the tenants kinda adjusted the price.

In the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 area there is a religious tourism destination that has just opened, namely the Our Lady of Akita Prayer Park.
Not just a place of worship for Catholics, this place is also interpreted as a form of commemoration of the divine event of the statue of the Virgin Mary shedding tears in Akita, Japan.

Back in the 18th to 20th century, some Chinese folks headed to Southeast Asia because of the Opium Wars and Western intervention in China. Those who landed in Indonesia started up businesses, and interestingly, the European colonisers treated them better than the "native" Indonesians. That's why many of them are rolling in it now, quite privileged to learn English early, and you can spot the Christian influence, like those statues in the video. It all goes back to their close ties with the European colonisers at that time. Ironically, they're now quite religious than their European colonisers.
