I think for me the instruction to take up the cross and follow Jesus. I could get comfortable and religious, find a nice church and community and an identity in that church, but God has made me aware that I must choose to take up the cross in my life for him and be a follower Jesus with all that entails which includes daily reading of his words. It also entails in 2022 being counter culture, not fitting in with family and friends as I did before God saved me this year. My journey with the Lord is also about being persistent something that is not my normal character, but by his grace I will read and reflect daily on his words and with your help and grow in grace. 🙏💖
I've studied never understood it as well as you explain on Branch Together. May the Lord continue to move, use, an pour out his blessings on you all.

If I could add on to your thought, as I completely understand what it's like to feel as though God has not heard or acted on my prayer request. I have had a prayer request for 24 years and have really given up on taking it to God as a request because I believe that 1) he's heard the request and 2) I've heard his answer - "Not now." I've rarely taken it back to God, because I believe that, while he hasn't answered my prayer for healing, he has given me strength and opportunities I didn't realize I'd have because of my injury. I believe God has a plan for me with the injury. Maybe it's a lifelong plan. Maybe it's only for a couple more days. Either way, I believe there are people and situations the God is using me in His plan to benefit someone else who may not even know it. I have faith you and your wife have, or will have, that same understanding that God is listening and answering, even though it may not be the answer we're looking/ hoping for. Thank you for the reading and insight today to remind me of this opportunity I have.

I have the same question. But I am thinking it is referring to Jesus’ promise that some of His followers would experience a foretaste of His glorious revelation before they died. (See Mark 9:1)
