    I don't understand why, but the furniture they are crushing is far better than what I'm using in my home..LOL😂

    These guys are my heroes. We literally have an old couch out by the road just now and was wondering whether a trash truck could handle it or not. We'll see!

      If it is one of these rear loaders, the entire couch will be smashed to pieces in less than a minute.

      @@cagarbagetrucks Yeah man, they did just that! It was a queen size sleeper couch so pretty beefy but we took out the metal guts and the mattress and just put the couch itself out and they smashed it good 👍🦾

    I'm amazed at all the (apparently) good stuff that goes to garbage. Are the garbage guys allowed to take something of their interest for themselves, or they must destroy everything?

    I'll estimate about $50 worth of loose change and 5 lost TV remotes were swallowed up here.

    • @cagarbagetrucks
      @cagarbagetrucks  8 лет назад +7

      +Jerry Dodge That's a low estimate. Crews sometimes look for change in the sofas when it's slow, and they find up to 100 dollars in change (they spilt it 50/50). As for remotes, I don't have any stats on that, but I'm sure they are a couple of lost remotes forever gone. Thanks for the amusing comment Jerry, I enjoyed reading it! :)

    Lots of furniture that other people could use meets this fate, and it's very sad. And being crushed in the garbage truck is only the beginning of it's destruction. After it's dumped at the landfill, it's gets run over by bulldozers, and is completely pulverized.
    In 1984, when Pizza Hut changed the mate's chairs out for those stupid flimsy bentwood chairs, I wonder'f the mate's chairs met this fate after they were removed from the dining rooms of the restaurants.

      Good video .I'm one of many that hate when perfectly good items(sometimes it's really junk) are "dumped" in the dump.(landfill).

      @@EDT278 Back in 1984, when they changed the mate's chairs out for those stupid bentwood chairs at the old red roof Pizza Hut restaurants, I wonder'f the mate's chairs met this fate. If they did, I dream of Christine, Stephen King's '57 Plymouth Fury going out to the landfill during a driving rain, and exhuming the pulverized remains of the chairs. Then dream of Christine taking to the highway, and embarking on a cross country journey to rejuvenates the destroyed mate's chairs with her magical odometer. Christine's odometer runs backwards at five mile for every actual mile traveled. It generates a rejuvenating power.
