They were just so behind that day so they needed the help. Made for a fun video.
Lot ppl saying this is a waste but there is a lot of trash it would take hours for two men to gather all of the trash on that route it's 4 of them who get paid 20 an hour time is money so it's gonna get spent anyway and those construction vehicles are meant to take on long work loads so the cost of maintenance isn't a lot if you get the job the faster

+Brian Spencer The cardboard on this route was pretty heavy, not terribly common in an older area. New areas tend to have mountains of it, since these people recently moved in.
I don't think this is the regular pick-up. They have several guys on-site and the machine loading because this was probably a special annual or semi-annual bulk pick up where they will pick up big things that can't fit into trash cans, like Christmas trees and mattresses, without charging a separate fee.
This was a specialized pickup, aimed for reducing illegal dumping of large, hard-to-handle items. It only occurs one-per-year (at the time of recording). It has since expanded to three appointments per year, at no additional cost.
it probably would have been a better idea to go with a with a roll-off truck carrying a 40 cubic yard dumpster, assuming the loader has enough reach to clear the top of the dumpster while its on the truck

We also have a plastic recycling pickup every 2 weeks, for all our plastics instead of like you in the USA putting everything in landfill. Some of the items thrown away. could have been donated to thrift and charity stores or are you to bone idle to do it? Come on America get to grips, before it's too late???

Yeah. They recently restructured this program, changing it to an on-call service, further reducing the amount of equipment used to collect bulky waste.
I agree that residents should take more efforts to recycle these items prior to them hitting the curb. I am glad to say that a good majority of these items are sorted out at a Materials Recovery Facility and recyclables are removed prior to being sent to the landfill.

Here in the UK we have recycling centres and people use it. We also have kerbside recycling bins that are emptied every 2 weeks, and you can put paper, cardboard, glass, tins of all types and empty aerosols. We also have a plastic recycling pickup every 2 weeks, for all our plastics instead of like you in the USA putting everything in landfill. Some of the items thrown away. could have been donated to thrift and charity stores or are you to bone idle to do it? Come on America get to grips, before it's too late???
@John | Republic services is different. They don’t dump Recycling at a landfill. They reuse these stuff and their garbage dumps they actually are protecting our Blue Planet.
Search up + watch more, "Republic services recycle trucks picking up recycle" on RUclips.
I work for a garbage company and watching this is........ horrible. Haha paying this many people to do a route and needing a front end loader to follow the truck around is a giant waste. (No pun intended)
Yeah. They recently restructured this program, changing it to an on-call service, further reducing the amount of equipment used to collect bulky waste.
No Brasil o gari tem que correr atrás do caminhão de lixo, e nos Estados Unidos o gari fica caminhando e o trator que pega o lixo todo!
Cool do you like the Packers I miss allied wast side loder garbge trucks
+Hunter Johnson Yeah, I really miss seeing the Allied Waste branded trucks. They were very nice to see around, and they were a good company.

Why aren't they doing more recycling they should be sorting out cardboard certain papers plastics ect. Ect. This is why our future is bleak
I agree that residents should take more efforts to recycle these items prior to them hitting the curb. I am glad to say that a good majority of these items are sorted out at a Materials Recovery Facility and recyclables are removed prior to being sent to the landfill.
theyre marking up the street with that tractor that picks up the trash
marking up is very minor compared to tearing it up
It's cosmetic. With time is goes away.
They're people live in ☀️🌞
It is sunny here in California!
Can we put California politicians out for trash pick up?
