Islam was brought into Indonesia by some traders from Gujarat (the West Coast of India). From the time of the third caliph of Islam, 'Uthman' (644-656) Muslim emissaries and merchants were arriving in China who must have passed Indonesia sea routes through Indonesia from the Islamic world. Another historian said that generally Islam was missionized by Arabian. They came from India or other countries. They were of the Arab blood. Some of the Arabians were the Sayyid Alawiyyin.
Good for information but you should know that the quality of muslims in those areas is just as much degraded. Culture has permeated into Islam and has given rise to a phenomena called cultural islam. islam is being accepted by the west on daily basis and at a rate faster than ever before. Our new muslim community has the passion of islam like the early muslims 1400 years ago. We see revert muslims on youtube advising the born muslims. Islam is becoming more saturated across the world. We need good muslims, numbers dont matter at all. Infact these days most muslims are like the "foam of the ocean" as predicted by a hadith.
They say one Kalima, they all believe in one Allah, one Rasool, One Quran, Hadith of the Rasool, they all pray towards Ka'aba, they all offer the same Salah (wadhoo, face, arms, part head, feet, Azaan, thakbeer, qeyaam, qera', ruko', qaoma, sajda, jalsa, qayeda, dua) in morning, noon, afternoon, evening, night, observe Saom in Ramadhan, pay Zaka' the 40th of the assets yearly, perform Hajj in zil hajja the same place all together, all believe not to harm anyone from your tongue or hand, to fullfill rigts of all the people, the same Halaal the same Haraam, they all believe in the Messengers, devine Books, Angels, death, grave, Qadar, resurrection after death, Yaom-ul Meezan (the judgment day), the bridge of Sseraat, Jannah and Jahannam.. they all have Eid-ul Fithr, Eid-ul Adha, they all say the same Salaam to eachother, they all are brothers, they all are one Umma, the all are like one body.. all follow the beloved Rasool, all were cried for by the beloved Rasool, all will be given salvation on the day of judgment because the one beloved Rasool, they all will go to Jannah.. Am i still missing? oh yes a lot more, please use your imaginations..
Actually india is home to more muslims than the data. It is said that 25-30 crores lives in india. But the numbers shown are less than what is actual in india about muslims.
They say that by the year 2030 there will be 2.2 billion Muslims in the world.

Yes first when it comes SELFISHNESS, CURREPTION, CRIME etc. We forget the teachings of Quran and Rasool pbuh. Believe in quality not quantity.
