I've had the older 43% version of this and you're right, it isn't mind blowing, but the price is fair. The Distillery Labels Mortlach 15 is another solid pour I would reccomend from G&M. Cheers Rob, great review!

Sounds like everyone has different notes on Linkwood. The bottle that I had 3-4 years ago had lots of green apple, lemon peel, honey, with some cocoa powder and wood spice. Less texture than you'd expect from a 15 year. Kind of an interesting combination of flavors, not bad for $80 USD. But probably not one that I'd buy again.
At CAD $125, approx US$90, that's a great buy for the age and value. i would describe it completely differently - more of like Edradour Caledonian (12) with more age and a bit sweeter. Is is not the totally dry and sulfuric sherry type. I think a side by side would really show how it compares if you got an Aberlour, a Glengoyne and a GlenAllechie to compare with. Then you really see who stands up and who sure doesn't.
Seen this one...appreciate the thoughts. Have a CarnMor Linkwood 11y I need to crack into. Also the G&M Distillery Label Ardmore 20 (2000 vintage) is sick. Look for sale though

Got the G&M 25 year old which is apparently lovely. Will open when my bottle queue dies down!
Tasting notes are like : Light chocolate, if there is any chocolate there. Truly groundbreaking stuff! :)
