If this plugin becomes natively integrated in blender, performance should increase massively because the splats can be handed and rotated on the gpu alone 😊

Alpha transparency and transparent rays work totally differently between Cycles and Eevee. The number of transparent layers would make Cycles explode if it even could work.
@@BlenderAddon-fromKIRI what a shame, I saw that Vray 7 has included Gaussian splat, I think they use Raytracing so probable there is a workournd, but completely exceed my knowlage :)

deinstall, unzip the installation file,rename the inside folder “gs_render_by_kiri_engine” and rezip to that name again. install again
Will this work with any file or does it need to originate from the kiri software?
Great question! It should work with any 3DGS's PLY files, but we haven't tested other than the KIRI PLY
Is there a why is not working with Cycles?
