Jimmy Butler Broke the Milwaukee Bucks…

  • Behind Jimmy Butler's historic round 1 performance, the Miami Heat upset the #1 seed Milwaukee Bucks in 5 games. The Heat went from being a struggling three-point shooting team all season to now having one of the greatest playoff shooting performances in the history of the NBA. Jimmy Butler is putting up Michael Jordan numbers, and the result was the Bucks, who were viewed as favorites to make it to the NBA Finals, were sent home packing early.
By abusing Brook Lopez in drop coverage, the Heat were able to get Jimmy Butler 56 points in a game, and get guys like Duncan Robinson and Gabe Vincent cooking essentially every night. Even if Giannis Antetokounmpo's injury hadn't been a factor, it's hard to imagine anybody could've stoop this Heat team.

With that said, this matchup also highlights the importance of great coaching. The Bucks had all the key players but when Jimmy was getting hot, the Bucks didn't even bother to call timeouts to stop his momentum. That would have made a significant change in the flow of the game. Instead, they allowed Jimmy to go on fire that even he couldn't miss if he wanted to.

I love the Bucks and as a huge fan this one hurts. It may be time for Coach Bud to hit the curb.

I think everyone can agree. The one thing we learned in NBA history is that not one man can break a team ask Michael Jordan

As a sixers fan if we advance I would soooo much rather see New York than Miami.

Since the team I support wasn't in the playoffs (Bulls), I really didn't mind whichever team came out of this series.
I'm a huge fan of both Giannis and Butler so it was hard to root for either one so I'm not going against the Heat when I say this, I say this as a fan of Giannis. Which is that knowing how hard he works and how obsessive he is, I hope he takes this series as motivation to really work on his weaknesses on offense.
Granted he was injured but I felt like the series could have gone either way had the Bucks realized that drop wasn't working earlier. Plus the final possession of both the 4Q and OT when no one on the Bucks staff thought to call timeout, not sure WTF happened there lol.
In saying all that though, I really do want the Heat to make another run for the finals. It's been an absolute delight watching Himmy go into playoff mode.
