You're making me appreciate all the work my mom did planning our meals growing up! I only cook for myself and it's some work I can't imagine staying on a budget and accomodating a whole family and their own tastes! you're a saint!
Aww that's so nice! It's always nice to feel more gratitude in our lives! I feel like it can be just as much work cooking for one or a family sometimes! lol! Thank you for your kindness though!
I like your pantry. I have something like that here, I feel it is crucial to good home economics to keep some kind of supply of a variety of things to save on eating costs these days. We shop in bulk at the Mennonite places a couple of times a year and those are good value. My wife and I are looking forward to visiting Yellowknife this October, I hope the weather and forests will behave themselves for our stay.
Good job on a low budget week! A tip for your tomatoes (as I live in Northern AB where it’s hard to get them ripe), I leave mine in the garden as long as possible but if there is risk of frost I cover with a bed sheet or whatever I have. Also pick off any new blooms to encourage the plant to focus on ripening the fruit that’s there. Also you can pick them green if you need to and let them ripen in a box in the house…it works well. Cheers! ❤
@@jeanettethiessen2476 this is amazing thank you!! Do I just stick them in a box? Is the key that they are dark or that no air gets at them? I’ve only heard of doing it indoors on the windowsill Which didn’t work for me last year! Thanks again for the tips!
@@LifeinYellowknife You are most welcome. I just use the cardboard box as it’s breathable and what I have available. You don’t even need a lid. They ripen faster if the tomatoes have already started to change colour even slightly but the green ones will ripen too. The window sill works ok but I find it’s not necessary. They don’t need darkness to ripen a light warm spot in the house is best. Just make sure to check them often as they can change fast and then go bad.
Hey Cassandra those pancakes 🥞 look delicious 😋 great food items and planing meals ideas its so expensive for anything take out or restraunts munch better making your own meals like you do take care again sunshine 😊😘🌞🌹
I love the pantry of doom - I also noticed some halo top ice cream in the freezer, which I like a lot one funny thing - I see you had a Powerade there that I used to drink the diet ones all the time and when I lived in Georgia one of the micethat bonded with me somehow managed to get on top of the Power eight bottle I usually had by my bed and would sit there and keep me company
HA, that's Chris Halo Top! I think it's pretty good too tho! The kids had some Powerade at camp but that's something we don't regularly buy! That's soooo nasty the mice used to get into it for you! lol! They worked really hard eh? lol
Great information and money savings too. You rock Cossondra!!! Thanks and keep them coming.
@@moeanthony9308 aww thanks for watching!

Have a great trip! I’m sure it’s going to be great weather! 😂
Even the thought of clearing out our freezers is enough to make me shake! Good for you. Your baby is absolutely adorable. Such a little beauty.
