      At the end everything came with coincidences.
      WRC TV plane who were covering all the signals was technical issues and they were forced to chang the planes. While this happened there were some time when officials was not able to see everything whats happening in time so in the same moment Evans went off and broke that arch so after short time period it felt on the road. Stuff Guys who were there had only 1.5 min. (3min. between Rally 1 cars) to get rid of that obstacle but for humanly reasons they did not manage in time.
      So in the end we can blame plane manufacturer or technical stuff who were preparing that plane which caused the situation of some short black out.
      At the end it was fantastic event.

      @@aigarscelms4593 It shouldn't rely on planes. The office should be quickly phoned by roadside staff.
      But event was fantastic indeed, the above described didn't take away from the event.

      @@0626love the phone network was not working either. When so many people come in one spot such a problem exists. Moreover the internet for spectators was not working, too.
      Only sms messages I could send which was received in around 5min.
      I assume there was some stuff in each stage with the radio as well but not in that exact spot.

      @@tbates4938 that adds a bit of perspective doesn’t it? I mean in ARA when Ken Block, Pastrana, and Semenuk were racing, Block was almost always on top followed by a coin toss by Semenuk and Pastrana. In the 2023 ARA championship, Semenuk was unrivaled.
      We will just have to wait and see if time improves in WRC with more races.

    Munster saved that car. But, unfortunately, someone lost some nice camera equiptment. Looks like the lenses were ripped from the camera bodies. Of course those tripods are gone. As far the arches, they should either be set up before recce, or use something else entirely that doesn't interfere with the stage.

    Idk if Taka actually made a driving mistake. The way the car didn't turn at all in the chicane made it seem like he might have lost the power steering right at the chicane before hitting the tree.
    And Ott having those cables tied around front left and rear right wheel just stopping the car at full gas could easily have damadged the driveshaft enough to completely break it with a few bumps, which caused him to go off at the city stage and lose 16 seconds. So are they gonna give him a nominal podium at the end of the rally?

    • @mortaljorma69
      @mortaljorma69 2 месяца назад +2

      Are you blind? Too much speed for the chicane and front tires were locked - impossible to turn. Basic stuff.

    • @0626love

      I agree on the Tänak incident. But as to Katsuta, Taka himself said he broke the steering by going off there

    • @yogawombat9199
      @yogawombat9199 2 месяца назад +1

      Well i might be wrong on Taka, not sure, but to me it seemed he did turn left already on the breaking but then just couldn't turn right, like the power steering literally went on the chicane. If could turn left on breaking then should be able to turn right... But am not a rally driver so what do i know

    Big money getting in the way of guys just doing their jobs. Not enough staff, not enough experience, probably not being paid properly.
    Much like the Donut/Big Time situatio,
    WRC are more interested in profits and TV shots and car sales then the sport itself. Time to push back against the push for profit.
    Get MORE manufacturers, INVEST in people and make it ACCESSIBLE. Stop living on NOSTALGIA. Market the sport, don't FILL it with MARKETING.

    Ahh so uninteresting to listen to the commentators and having to skip through to find the interesting footage. Why can't you just make a highlight reel with all the crashes, near-misses, most interesting comments and closest battles throughout the day. I have no interest in listening to the presentators talk in a slow manner for 14 minutes.... Nobody has time for that. Look at what MotoGP and F1 do with their highlight reels... Make the cuts fast-paced and interesting so its 2024 and not 2014.
