For me it is clear that the client pay me 2000$ a month (for example) and the client also pay for the Ads in theire Facebook Manager. Are you telling them how much budget do you need for the ads ? Or have they to give you a monthly budget for ads ? And maybe it is not possible than to reach the goal (because the budget is to low) What are you doing than ? If i have a contractor that run the ads for the clients, so i don't really know much about fb ads, what can i say to the clients when they possibly jump on a call with me? I tried to start a smma, tried cold calls mainly, I struggled with those too, but the fact is that while making the calls I was thinking about what to say if I could set up meetings as I am not an ad expert. In the end for now I gave up, but I always have an interest in starting again.
you need to learn a base understanding of how they work, u should also be logged in so u can see how the adds are perofming etc, and u can get your contractor to give u updates aswell

I took a facebook ads course, I learnt about testing strategies, scaling methods, etc.. is that enough to run ads myself or is it better hiring a media buyer from the start?
They will never reply you unless you buy their course . They will come up with different strategies like this not a course but a discord group membership , facebook group access , private circle and what not but at the end it's all about giving them money and let me tell you even after enrolled into their course you will not make single penny. This smma business is already is in shambles because there are hundreds of media buyers on upwork and fiver to do this job for dirt cheap.
Depends on you. If you don’t want to do the work then hire a media buyer. There’s nothing wrong with it, but make sure that you actually know what’s going on and that you’re not completely clueless about the ads.
