y tf do u want people want braces they will destroy ur mouth. the same pain from the first time u put ur braces on comes on when u tighten ur braces every 2-4 weeks depending on ur orthodontist and bands will make u feel like ur living in hell.
for anyone who’s about to get braces, i promise it doesn’t hurt much. the initial application of the braces doesn’t hurt at all, but it may hurt for 4-7 days afterwards. after that, every time you get them tightened, it only hurts for maybe 2 or 3 days, and it’s not so bad. it honestly just depends on the person and why you need braces! edit: approach the replies with caution. this is your warning

When I first got my braces they sucked out ALL of the moisture in my mouth and I was just sitting there with my mouth feeling like the Sahara dessert and I didn’t want to swallow bc they said keep it as dry as you can so I was just sitting there trying not to die 💃
I couldnt even swallow when they were putting it on because of the tongue guard and when I tried to swallow the suction called Nola would push against my bottom palate gums and it hurts...
When I go the dentist they ask questions and when I try to talk they say “keep you mouth all the way open or I’ll mess up now please answer the question..”HOW DO I TALK WITHOUT MOVING MY MOUTH HUH
I had braces 2 months ago and my dentist recommended to watch your videos on the first month and in the second month he gave me a B+ for how good Qi brush my teeth thank you for your tips 🙏🏻🙏🏻
You'll be fine! The brackets and wire don't hurt too bad, however bite ramps, or turbos kind of do if I'm being completely honest. All in all it should only hurt for about a week. You'll be back to 100% in about 2 weeks.
if you're just getting braces and are upset about it, just remember that you are very lucky to have such treatment available and to be able to afford it. braces r expensive and if you don't live in the developed world you are stuck with bad teeth, so count your blessings

Be careful with the wire sticking out in the back! When i first got mine, it would get caught in my gums and now there is a scar :/... BUT, there is nothing to be afraid of at all just letting ya know :)
I have a strong respect for orthodontists. I have had really wonky teeth for most of my life and within two months (you have them on for two years usually) my teeth are already straight compared to before, they're almost perfect and it took barely any time at all.
I bet a lot of people are watching this so they know what to expect when they get braces soon. And then there is me, not getting braces for, like 5 or 6 years and watching this cuz I love the Bentist

When I got my braces I never got those toobs in my mouth and the dentist was like, “you got a lot of saliva are you hungry” and I was like well I’m sitting in a chair leaning back for a hour with my mouth open and I’m scared to swollow because what if I swollow somthing I’m not supost to.

My braces come off this month... I got them on through the traditional direct bonding I had them for 1 year and 5 months (which honestly was surprising) The doctor said that since I wore my bands regularly, it was a smooth process My timing to get them was somehow incredible cause I got them right before the pandemic started.... so my braces journey has been during all this and no one really got to see them in my mouth lol... I also found braces to be surprisingly comfortable and pain-free (maybe cause I wanted to get them and was mentally prepared)

This just gives me more and more confidence to get my braces because I’m getting them tomorrow and I’m terrified but these make me feel more comfortable and know that it’s not bad
@@alliebelle2790 they don't hurt at all, my teeth are complicated though so the chains they put hurt the first half of the day then after that the pain is gone, pretty tolerable (High pain tolerance so idk about other people, that's just for me!)
As a person who had braces on for 5 years, I can say Braces aren’t actually that painful, the more you have them the more you get used to it and it doesn’t really hurt. At first yes it would hurt but sooner you will eventually don’t think it’s that painful. Although I can’t really eat much specific food since it’s a hassle to remove them when it gets stuck in your wife’s and braces. But now that they’re finally off and I have my retainers HALLIJUEAH I can finally eat food that I couldn’t

When I got my braces on I didn't even know they were putting it on like when I got up and he was explaining about the wax for the brackets I was like naniiiiii
basically from me getting braces a week ago: here’s what to expect! 1. the glue is the most disgusting taste ever 2. bring chapstick your lips get so chapped 3. nothing hurts in the moment 4. afterwards everyone says it hurts but trust me it doesn’t at all 5. the wire will probably poke you for about 2-3 days. it’s not horrible though 6. your cheeks will feel swollen the day after you get your braces. they aren’t trust me 7. if you feel any pain on your teeth at all, it’ll only be for about 2 hours the day after but you shouldn’t feel pain 8. you have to eat soft foods for about 4-5 days 9. you should be able to chew after 6 days- a week 10. don’t take a bite of anything until 2 weeks after. it will hurt super bad if you bite into anything before then. cut everything into smaller pieces until then. 11. just remember it’s worth it in the end. (ps) they aren’t as bad as u thinj

Dentists have to memorize where the brackets are placed that’s why you’ll see there are red or green colors on them. Each color indicates which side the bracket goes too it’s either left or right.

When I got my braces off dried glue was flying everywhere when they were taking it off, it got on my clothes and coated my mouth.

Me and my brothers all have extremely straight and naturally white teeth, i do have a lot of cavities but now, my teeth are really nice!

I use to have a over bite and after I got braces in March 2020, my teeth looks normal and clean now! (I got mine from orthotex)
im getting braces at the end of march ive had my molds done pictures xrays etc i have some bad crowding at the top and some bottom ones misplaced trust me you want them on its worth it!

Me too, I will also get braces this Wednesday, kind of exited, but also scared
basically from me getting braces a week ago: here’s what to expect!
1. the glue is the most disgusting taste ever
2. bring chapstick your lips get so chapped
3. nothing hurts in the moment
4. afterwards everyone says it hurts but trust me it doesn’t at all
5. the wire will probably poke you for about 2-3 days. it’s not horrible though
6. your cheeks will feel swollen the day after you get your braces. they aren’t trust me
7. if you feel any pain on your teeth at all, it’ll only be for about 2 hours the day after but you shouldn’t feel pain
8. you have to eat soft foods for about 4-5 days
9. you should be able to chew after 6 days- a week
10. don’t take a bite of anything until 2 weeks after. it will hurt super bad if you bite into anything before then. cut everything into smaller pieces until then.
11. just remember it’s worth it in the end.

It only hurts like a few hours later and id say for me, my gums just felt kinda sore and sensitive for about 4 days

Dentists have to memorize where the brackets are placed that’s why you’ll see there are red or green colors on them. Each color indicates which side the bracket goes too it’s either left or right.

Question: Ive had braces for about 2 years and i just now need to start wearding the rubber bands to correct an overbite, Why is it so important I wear them if im not even bothered by it anymore? Also, Good job on 300k!!
Well for me my overbite was very bad, so I ended up digging into my gums, and you get used to it after a while
