Thank you for the encouragement. I've been pulling mostly doubles so most of my backing has been to hook up that rear trailer. Sometimes I still can't believe I'm an actual trucker.
These guys teaching at these schools need to explain what their doing wrong lose your egos teach correctly over steering and when to counter react they would do so much better and learn quickly
The best way to do the offset 1. Turn steering all the until your kingpin lines up with outside joist on trailer 2. Turn steering wheel until it meets wit opposite side joist on trailer 3. Bring steer all the way back straight and make min adjustments. (Turn towards problem to get trailer straight) Don’t over steer and watch trailer the pup trailers react fast
I took my road test in NY last Friday. In NYC, we have it a little easier since alley docking isn't on the test, but rather parallel parking. I passed the inspection part and the air brakes test but failed spectacularly at the backings, particularly the parallel parking. Every thing that my instructor taught me up to that point had just flown out the window, and I was making some really dumb mistakes that I normally don't make while practicing.
I drove for 29 years and used to do your 1st maneuver 7 days a week...it's not hard once you do it a few times 🙂
God Bless,
Jeff

They don’t they just say go left right and stop straighten and get under it that’s all you never learn that way
Great job… just keep practicing. I am in school as well and by no means it’s it easy….
Definitely not like backing up a 30ft bumper mounted camper!
