- Day 2 of the Key Largo, Florida Series: me ancient and I went lobster diving for the first time and boy were we blessed! The first stop of the day was directly over some rocky shelves that held dozens of spiny Florida lobster! Diving for them was fun but cooking and eating them for dinner was funner! We are definitely doing this again!
Keep trying new things and leveling up in real life!

Conch (conk) is found over those grassy bottom areas like the ones you are looking under its ledges. Everything is regulated as it should be so know the laws, and always anchor in the sandy area leaving plenty of rope loose (length of rope loose is the depth x 5 gives you the amount of rope to anchor with) Always anchor over sand to not damage the bottom and never damage the coral.
Correct and pull on the anchor rope before you leave the boat to make sure the anchor has buried itself. Its always good to also give it a visual once you get in the water to see it actually anchored in the sand. Never anchor over the reef itself only over sand.

You should come to Illinois and try our Lake Springfield. We pull 90lbs Blue Catfish from the lake. There are also a few good surrounding lakes. Keep up the good fishing spirit. 👍
