- Fiery and virtuosic, brilliant and full of energy Toccatina (1977) by Mexican composer Ramón Noble (1925-1999). #HispanicHeritageMonth
Among the Mexican organ composers of the 20th century, Ramón Noble has been the most prolific. Born in 1925 in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Noble studied at the Institute Cientifico y Literario, now the University of Hidalgo. He also studied at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City, where he later served as interim director.
Noble has composed several dozen compositions for the organ, but until recently his compositions have been unavailable in any published edition. A number of his organ works employ Mexican nationalistic themes, dances and rhythms, while using classical forms.
