This was a great drive! The drive was smooth as butter for both city and highway driving! I have a Model 3 with HW 3 hardware running FSD v12.5.4.2, and it’s the complete opposite of this! It experiences a lot of dangerous phantom braking at intersections and green lights, and it isn’t smooth on the highway. I’d give this a 9/10! I’m excited to see what v13 brings.
It's friggen disgraceful for all of us with HW3 vehicles only a year or so old and getting screwed. I refuse to sell my MSP with 13k miles that's in perfect condition for hw4 computer when HW5 is expected in 2025. Elon said he would now offer a retrofit but who knows, maybe this is in years from now. If our HW3 cars are left behind I will never purchase another Tesla in my life.
@@kottuning3294 I feel your pain bud! But to be honest, I don't trust Elon! I don't think HW3 vehicles will get the new HW4/AI4 computer anytime soon! Sigh. Similarly to you, I got my vehicle last year July and my millage is only 14k km! I would say though, If the 0% APR (without the purchase of FSD) comes to Canada before the end of the year, I will consider buying the new upgraded Model 3 LR RWD!
Your experience with chill/std/hurry seems quite different from what I've seen on other channels. I'm hoping to get this version tonight so I can see how it works for me.
I see why it goes to the left/fast Lane and the reason being there is usually less garbage found in that lane, smoother ride and less going on generally. So if there's nobody around and I'm not holding anybody up, hey… seems like not a bad idea as long as you're not holding anybody up. Still don't like those lanes changing/Merging at the right…
Keeping the Max speed offset to 40% is pretty much stupid, unless you want to pay a speeding ticket. This is what the 12.5.6.x brought back to the driver : the control over the max speed. Good job for the rest of the video.
As mentioned in the video Max speed of set does not mean fsd will match that speed. When set to 40 percent and on hurry with no traffic ahead the max speed observed was 115kph.
@@TeslaColdEnvy False. It will match the Max speed if you have the traffic that allows it. And it will also restrict the car to speed up over the set offset. And setting a Max speed of 15% for example, will let you see the Max speed set based on the road speed, and you can change that Max speed using the right scrolling wheel.
@@TeslaColdEnvy I watched the video and : - you changed the 140 km/h max speed to 125 km/h 20:22 (Why ? Because if the road conditions allowed, that would have been the speed the car would have.) - if you change the Max set speed offset to 10% or 15%, you'll see Max speed set in the UI even while driving in the city - the car sped up to 116 km/h based on the traffic and road conditions, which is the normal thing FSD to do. What FSD doesn't do is be a "bully" and get closer to the car in front to force it move on the right lane if it doesn't have the speed of your car.
FSD still camp on the left land on street roads, and it is still can NOT anticipate that the left, 100 yards away, would be forced to merge/turn left and when at the last moment it would want to merge right to stay on the intended path of the navigation.
the disengagement That you did get off the highway was not required it had the right route and even if it didn't I think that we are at the point of where we should take out our personal preference of the route that the car and let it choose
Not being funny but it's clear that FSD is a better driver than you. You were freaking out that it wasn't changing lanes with 3K to go!. You were also unhappy that it was in lane 3 in chill mode with a speed of 100 kph when it was overtaking other traffic. FSD is going to save so many lives and it's getting better quickly.

I know we have hw3 car and it's not good at all.. Really hope they offer a hw4 retrofit soon

Indeed I understand

@ yea I’ve though about this also the problem is these cars lose 75% of value in 18 months. I refuse to lose like 100k in 3 years. It’s crazy.

I know watching @chazman videos here I was anticipating similar experience too
For the construction you could scroll down with your scroll wheel to reduce the max speed to 60
Yes I should have done that I was distracted and forgot about the change in speed profile thanks!
Can’t wait to try it. On AI4, but stuck on 12.4.6.2 as of a few days ago…
In sure you will get it soon
12.4??? I didn’t know there even was a .6.2 for 12.4. Are you on standard update cadence or advanced?
Standard just was put in buly luck on early small wave

Really appreciate it!

Watch at 20:34 open road no ristriction max set at 125 does not. 🙄

That's in the old highway stack. The new highway stack does not match your max set speed. You are correct about the other points though 👍
I see the playground speed limit is not yet registering!

Agreed lots more work needed in this regard

You have a good point recorded as user error
Has it impacted from previous version
No major impact but improvement on highway behaviour for sure and high speed in general
My car is getting the new update right now. The old was really bad in my area.
What was bad? Are you getting v12.5.4.2 or v12.5.6.3?

I have no doubt it's a better driver 👍 there are many scenarios where it surprises me with stuff that I have not thought about. 🙌
