      @thehuguenot5615 my friends partner kept telling her he would kill us (her friends) and her family if she said anything and he abused her so bad she believed him. We finally managed to get her out on "holiday" to see her family, obviously she never came back, she had so many unhealed broken bones and when she told us the details of what he did to her is sounded more like torture. He broke her mind too. If you met him you wouldn't tell, he was a popular chef, tons of friends, everyone loved him. We only realised because she changed, bruises appeared and every story of where they came from was more unbelievable than the other.

    • @michaelboyle1983
      @michaelboyle1983 3 месяца назад +2

      @thehuguenot5615 the last I heard the average response time for a 911 call was 6 minutes. A man can beat a woman or child to death in 6 minutes and that's using their hands. They can shoot a woman and child in less than a minute.
      So let's say he beats her, the child, or both. The police arrest him and he gets out of jail in a year, or less, he's very mad at her now and does it again but worse this time.
      This stuff happens more than you think. The police are not very much help in a situation like this without the woman being able to move, get a different vehicle, and change jobs so she can't be found when he gets out of jail.
      God bless you!

    I like how dave immediately recommended going to her father for help.
    too often in our current culture we act like it isn't our families place to help protect us. but it is. A father has the right, and reponsibility to protect his daughter, and a brothers job is to protect his sister.
    Also the fact that he wouldn't take no for an answer, and got her help even though she didn't want it is commendable.

      LOL … NOWHERE in entire Canada, even east coast …you can’t buy a home for $200 K ! If there’s a region in USA that you can find a home to fit 4 kids and 1 adult …. Where is that ? If she moves there … is she leaving her family and friends to do that ? You still need a emotional support system , not just a team of advisors for tax , money, real estate , etc.
      nice boss to gift that much money . She needs to really spend some time in solitude to understand what she truly wants , what are her fears , and set goals . That could take her 12 -18 mths since it’s the first time in her life she’s going to learn and discover her own self.

As a single mom whose kids are now adults, I know how difficult it is to live paycheck to paycheck and how much anxiety and fear it can cause. What a noble cause it is to give a hard working person a chance to focus on parenting her children and not be run ragged trying to provide and be a mom in a world that doesn’t slow down for anyone to catch their breath. Sounds like she is a good person and this will only benefit the children. Thanks for this Heartwarming story. ❤

    12:25 I've been with my husband for over 16 years. He's never been physically abusive, but Dave described his level of control over the money as toxic. He will always make me feel like I'm some out of control wife because I will sometimes buy one item instead of another (to save money for instance, or to try and make room for a little candy bar) without discussing it with him first. He will go bonkers and say he can never trust me. It's gotten really bad. I have long been in high anxiety if I ever get to go shopping for something. I mean there's having respect and consideration when making financial decisions, sure, but.... when you're a grown woman being treated like a child that can't be trusted or given any amount of grace for misunderstandings, then yeah, it's safe to say that amount of control is toxic. Most definitely.

    • @matthewwiegert6999
      @matthewwiegert6999 Год назад +28

      If you recognize that as toxic behavior please please don't allow it to continue. I wish you the best of luck and relaxation because you are worth more than a candy bar or a name-brand purchase.
