Two years ago I broke my back. After 45 of deer hunting, I was done. I sold everything. After watching your video though, Im going to at least try again. Not sure I can do it, but I sure am gonna try. Thanks for an awesome video, and congrats
Daniel, my Dad who is 78 just went through the worst year in his life, 5 bypass surgery, head trauma, etc.. It took a year for him to heal. I just got him setup with a crossbow so he can hunt again this year. Got him a ground blind too and gonna help him get it all setup so it is easier on him. I would highly recommend a crossbow with a crank if you go that route, but not all cranks are created equal. Get one that you may have to make more turns on it to get it cocked but it takes much less force. I wish you the best!
@@BooneDownSouth Im sorry to hear about your Dad sir. Help him all you can. My dad passed 11 years ago, and I still miss talking to him. He always loved when I killed a deer with my bow, or rifle. I killed my best buck ever 30 days after he died. Would have made hime proud. My wife helps me with as much as she can, but it's hard taking help. I wish you the best, and I hope your Dad kills his best deer ever :-)
Yea I ran a drag line down that path before daylight. I was done for the morning and popped up on my knees to start packing up and there he was. After he left, i gave it another 15 mins, popped back to start packing up and here came the second one. Ya never know. It was fun though!
Nice video and great shot! Always great to get a small snow covering. I just ordered a Wicked Ridge M-370 from Cabela’s, they’re running an incredible sale and I picked up an extra Tuesday member discount as well! I’ve been waiting patiently for the price to be right! Next season I’ll hope to shoot some deer and get them on my channel,
Thanks Ranger Ron! Yea the snow was cool - especially for a southern boy. Sounds like you got a great deal on your M-370. I have been hunting with mine for the last 3 seasons and harvested 8 deer with it so far. I still love it. Good luck with yours this season.
Nice deer! Came across your videos bc considering buying the m370. Was wondering what the jacket you’re wearing is? Looking for heavy fleece coat that doesn’t break the bank. Thanks for the vids!
So about to do a follow up on the Wicked Ridge M-370 after 4 seasons with it. I have killed 10 deer with it so far. That jacket is wool jacket made by Columbia for Bass Pro Shops. I have had that and the matching overalls that go with it. Super warm and super quiet. This used to be at Bass Pro for years, but I haven't not seen it lately and not sure if they still make it.
@@scottelatte Yea we just got an m370 for my dad at bass pro at the beginning of the season for $499 and he got one deer with before he fell and broke his right shoulder! Another reason I wanted to do a follow up video is they did change the quiver setup which I think is a plus. The m370 you get now, has a quiver that mounts to the lower picatinny rail and you can mount it in two different orientations. I like it better actually. Yes it could be a runner up to the wooltimate. I know there were 2 version of the jacket, one had the wind sheer thing in it. A friend of mine had that and I did not like that. I have always shot archery so clothing noise is a huge factor to me as I typically, even today setup for 20 yard shots. The wind shear fabric on the interior of the jacket IMO was just too noisy for a deer within that range on a quiet day.
So it is only loud if you crank it with the switch in the safety position. The safety position is what holds the crank in place if you stop cranking mid way for whatever reason. If you flip the switch the other way it is silent, however, you need to hang on and crank until done. If you let go its gonna zoom back around since there is no safety catch on it. I typically cock my crossbow silently once I am situation in my stand.
So yes that Rage is awesome. It punches quite the hole and I always get a pass through so the deer is bleeding out both sides. Makes for an easy blood trail. The shot was only about 20 yards and the deer probably ran maybe 45-60 yards.
@@BooneDownSouth I've been looking at your videos now I have Rage broadheads in my Amazon cart to buy!Why Ten point has Cross bows priced like you buying cars when you can only shoot about 20-40 yards ethically?
I got it from Bass Pro many years ago. It is made by Columbia Sportswear and the jacket and bibs are heavy wool. There were two versions of this set, one had a windproof, waterproof lining inside and I did not get that one because it was too noisy I felt when drawing a bow. The set I have is quiet and I mean no noise when you move at all. I can't seem to find it online anywhere right now though. They used to stock it regularly but I am not seeing it at the moment.

Well done. Very good hunt. Some years there's nice bucks galore and some thin pickings, that's nature. Good luck next year.
Yep you are absolutely right. I see that at my own property as well in SC.
Good shoot my friend this is my first year with a crossbow I have a rampage 360 and this taught me something...
Awesome! I'm glad it helped you out. Good luck this season with your crossbow!
This is the first video ive seen from you and i love it brother!! Cant wait to see what this season brings out for you!!
Haroldee7553 - Thanks a bunch man. I really appreciate. And yep I'm looking forward to this season as well. Best of luck to you on your season!
M370 That baby is light! Perfect hunting CB. Power is overrated and weight matters especially for mobile hunters. Need one!
Power has always been overrated for sure. Even with compound bows. Accuracy and sharp broadhead will win over power every day!
That little 4 pointer trailed you right into your set. He so busted you. 😂

NICE!!!!!
Oh yeah! Thanks.
Nice job! Just curious I also have the wr 370 what's up with your cable and string it looks beefy compared to stock ...
Thanks Chris. Not sure.. That is how it came from the store. I did add the string dampeners to it so that may give it a different look perhaps.

Hey Boone- thanks for the response! Bass pro has the m370 on sale for $499 so I may grab it. The coat- maybe a predecessor to the wooltimate series?

Just got my 370, do you hand crank it before going into the woods? Cuz that crank is pretty loud

What wool camo jacket and pants do you use

Great shot but HOLLY (expiative of choice) was that crossbow shot LOUD
It is not really as loud as it sounds. The mic was close to the crossbow so it accentuated the noise of the shot.
Was this in south carolina?
No we drove out of state for this and still shot a SC deer ;)
