As an Indian Bengali Hindu from West Bengal with a pro BJP mindset, the coverage of Bangladesh in Indian media has indeed been shameful. We in India lambast western media when they make it out that voting in BJP is some regressive Hindu supremacist movement when 90% is just tied to wanting corruption free governance. Yes there will always be a contingent that is Hindu suprematist and goraksha etc but cow is not on top of rojiroti. I recognize the Awami rule of BD was very very similar to how CPM and now TMC rule WB. Bengali recognize Bengali lol. Republic Bangla has been most disappointing here as well.

@@baadindyan Maybe you don't understand kid, that the Awami League of today is the BNP of the past. They are two sides of the same coin. Only difference from Bharat's point being that while BNP encouraged it's jihadis against Bharat, Awami League tamed it's jihadis to a certain extent.
That's the sole reason why Bharat's NE has been mostly peaceful in the last decade and a half, and that's the sole reason why Bharat kind of shut it's eye when it came to Hasina, because it secured the life and property of Bhartiyas.
BNP has done all of those things which they are now accusing Awami League with. And I have no special love for Hasina, but she didn't act against Bharat. And I guess Bharat won't have any issues to accept and embrace any BD govt as long as they don't encourage proxies against Bharat.
But the signals aren't good. They already released the man convicted in supplying arms to NE terror groups. You want to go and embrace them, it's your choice, but don't flaunt your Bhartiya/Bong/Hindu creds.
And yes, I have the same creds, or probably even better, bcoz both my father and mother side are from that side of the border.

    In Bangladesh
The Prime Minister (PM) is the head of the EXECUTIVE BRANCH, which includes the police, military & all ministries.
The PM is also the Party Leader who remains irreplaceable in the party due to family heritage & legally no MP can vote against the party in parliament. So the PM controls the entire LEGISLATIVE BRANCH.
The party-affiliated President of the country picks our Chief Justice along with other Supreme Court judges (in practice based on whatever the PM says). Hence, the PM also controls the JUDICIAL BRANCH.
All 3 branches of government ruled by ONE person. But hey, we're a democracy.

Indians resist any attempt made by power of the day to politicise and compromise any institution through electoral process, public backlash and street protests if necessary. Sacrifice, solidarity and common goal motivates us. 1980 and 2024 LS elections are evidence of it. Democracy is deeply ingrained in public consciousness and has a strong root in India's cultural and social values. Indian society is extraordinarily diverse, different and unique in our own ways. Homogeneity, uniformity and authoritarianism are the values that cause discomfort and disdain in India.
