Just watched this video again for the hundreth time i think. exactly this time last year i was in south of vietnam with my best friend. And this video is just brilliant, brings back all these fantastic memories i have of HCMC. So to jnvdub thanks SOOOO much for making this video and putting it up here because it always takes me back to that absolutely amazing city that'll remain in my memories and heart forever.
Great job! Loved the video and music! nice editing. Also loved the scene with the boats and the very last scene with market. Keep up the great work! :D
@LeMeAtOm thanks! most of these shots were less than 2 hours, but the day to nights were longer. typical (good) AA batteries in the camera would last about 8 hours if the display is turned off while shooting.
@Zitropat No, at the time they played this music in most cafes in the city and I thought it was very appropriate due to the French influence on the city.
@Lustikk you can use editing software or a tilt-shift lens to achieve the look. it looks miniature because everything around the edges is very unfocused and blurry and the center object is focused perfectly clear. i guess that this makes it look like a model because when you look at something really close up, the object you look at is very detailed and everything else in your peripheral vision is blurry. i'm no photography expert, but this is just what i noticed after watching some of these
@sornodrog they don't use police tape. its just a normal thing over there if there's some crash. especially if someone dies they just keep on looking and road traffic keeps going. seen it before over in vietnam.
Fantastic! Do you have a script that tilt-shifts the photos while doing a time lapse? I have a canon A-530 and would love to do the same, but all I've managed is time lapse with chdk (can't find tilt shift)
very nice video and it was just using the Canon A540 with CHDK? no special lenses just that? because after seeing this style of photography i would love to get into it myself. and i would give 5 stars if i could but i can only like it now so i will like it

This is stunning, a completely different perspective on HCMC, I love the water drying on the road beside Notre Dame. You are a genius.
Wonderful, simply wonderful! Thank you for putting this one up. I will re-watch often!
n1 music...n1 photos...n1 editor --> n1 clip 10/10...
Marvelous! It looks like the whole city's just a mockup/model. The suburban life seems surrealistic ! Great work of you making that art.
Lovely still-shift video with brilliant choice of music. That is really moving video of the city I have never been to. Thanks for the effort.
I love the ferry part, stunningly amazing !

Beautifully done. Great song too.
The shots are from hotels, bars, and rooftops around town. HCMC has a great selection of rooftops. Check them out!

l'accord avec la musique est parfait.
It's GREAT...incredible video..I don't care if it's fake or not, for me NOT..but it's great..I know this city like my house...and I really like it!
Marvelous.
i used chdk to do the time-lapse, then added the tilt-shift effect with photoshop and/or after effects. you can find a tutorial on the web.
fantastic!
precioso beautiful
I used AE to put the photos together. You can do zooms and pans inside AE with larger photos.
@PSEUDOIDON no, no bracketing, just straight .jpgs with lots of color correction and the tilt-shift done in post.
@Zitropat No, at the time they played this music in most cafes in the city and I thought it was very appropriate due to the French influence on the city.
Really nice. Thanks.
Espectacular!
perfection
I think this was sweet!
amazing, like a toy city !

@Nhuky97 no, they just do it for an hour or so in the afternoons
Thanks! I was pretty sure I had to do batch editing in photoshop.

Wow!! I had never seen such technique! Awesome!
How long did it take for you to make that?
Good job!!
