I love how the haters say this woman is irrelevant and people still talk about her till this day. She's the indisputable Queen of Pop. I love her so much.
why do you give so much of time and consciousness to so called haters. The fact you used the term hater means you are one Madonna fan who has had way too much time on social media you forgot how to be smarter than a phone.
@@prophetmadonna3744 Well I actually don't spend that much time anymore on social media. I don't have a Facebook anymore for that reason. I'm very proud to be a Madonna fan and you're right don't need to waste my precious time and energy on people that don't appreciate her as an artist.
some background before you do more madonna, her mother passed when she was 5 and that heavily impacted her life and she incorporates that into A LOT of her music. mer girl is about how she went back to her hometown to visit family and she went for a run and ended up at her mothers grave. it was overgrown with weeds and such and it started raining, then she ran back and wrote the song 😩
In my opinion, "Ray of Art" is Madonna's best album. Although she also has other pop Bibles; "Confessions on a dance floor", "Like a prayer", and "Erotica". Madonna undoubtedly wrote the book, and the other pop stars just read it.
I love when younger people find out that Madonna basically influenced every musician after her, and that she did what their favourite artists did 20 or 30 years ago. lol. The thing with Madonna is she is always evolving and experimenting, so no two albums are going to sound the same, and she's always going to challenge listeners who may want her to do another 'Ray of Light' or another 'Confessions' but she's just going to trust her instincts and go her own way artistically, and we're going to either go along for the ride or not. It's only during the MDNA/Rebel Heart years where I feel she lost her way a bit and started chasing trends instead of creating new trends. Thankfully, Madame X was a return to form so if she creates new music, I hope she continues to just experiment and do her own thing. It's when she's been the most successful as an artist, I think. It's hard to recommend another album of hers for you to review if you really vibed with this one, as it stands on it's own artistically. Personally, my favourite is Erotica, which is very gritty, sexy, and R&B/hip hop influenced. I also love Bedtime Stories, Music and as I mentioned, Madame X. Actually, you may really get into Music, now that I think about it. There is a slight country influence in it, but overall, it is pretty electronica like Ray of Light.
That is soo right, I listened to Music and I was pleasantly surprised with the production reminding me of Ray of Light while being something of it's own as well. That's how you follow up a masterpiece. I wish Confessions got that treatment. I don't hate Hard Candy, but it's definitely not on par with Confessions(even though it's actually pretty good but Madonna's standards are too fucking high)
Frozen - “Imagine this being played in a massive fckoff theatre”. Her last tour was a theatre tour and she performed this song and it was visually stunning. She was sitting on a piano behind a HUGE screen with projections of her daughter doing amazing dance moves. It was beautiful !!
The opening track, Drowned World, is still my favorite song of all time, even after 22 years of this album being out. This album, and that song, made me a hardcore Madonna fan.
Little Star she wrote for her small daughter. If you listen to it again it is very obvious. And the last track Mer Girl is about the death of her mother when Madonna was a 5 year old girl herself. The song is about dealing with death and letting finally go. The whole album is constructed so thoughtfully; it starts very soft and gradually gets more dancy, and then starts to slow down again. A masterpiece.
The stuff Madonna did in 90s is the pinnacle of pop artistry. Ray is light is rightly one of the greatest albums ever made. She a legend for so many reasons.
Ray of Light is a masterpiece. I highly recommend reacting to Erotica, Like a Prayer, Confessions on a Dance Floor, American Life, Music, Bedtime Stories, Rebel Heart, Madame X, even her album for the film Dick Tracy, I’m Breathless. She’s a musical genius.
Dude, you're not being dramatic. This album is a masterpiece. It deserves this kind of reaction. You're adorable, fun and engaging. I hope you're not hating on your mannerisms. You're a star.
I remember the first time I heard the 'Ray of Light' album. It was in my car. And I literally had to pull over and stop. And just listen. I was that blown away.
This is Madonna's most critically acclaimed album...a masterpiece! This album is her spiritual journey after the birth of her daughter. It popularized electronica sound at the time.
This entire album is ahead of its time. Still sounds ahead of our time. The Velvet Rope by Janet Jackson is a similar mood but not really sound (that album paved the way for the alternative rnb artists we love today). Anyway also an incredible record, from the same time. If you love FKA Twigs, you’ll love this. Hello from LDN
I’m glad you reviewed ROL, it’s literally my favorite Madonna album ever and it’s a timeless, unique, ethereal masterpiece start to finish. Same level of Christina’s Stripped and Britney’s In The Zone. Best work ever. Happy you FELT it and loved it the way it deserves x
Trust me when I tell you that this album continues to get better and better the more you listen to it. 23 years later and I STILL uncover new sounds from the production and her vocals. It's THAT revolutionarily good! Congrats to finally discovering this masterpiece. Next up you must listen to her "Like a Prayer" album & "Erotica" albums!!!
I AM SO GLAD YOU DID THIS!!!! This is her best work (From the 90s, even tho all her albums are so good too) and so so so good that even the grammys invite her and won like 3 awards, it was after she had lourdes, her daughter, and was a self journey to discovering and accept some things of the world learning from love on herself, her daughter and life. Listening to this album is like taking a plain to another world and explore more cultures, William Orbit was a important part of the journey, he was the producer and the videos of that era were so well made.
This was 1998. 1998! She was wayyy ahead of her time. Everyone followed that you look up to. Thank Madonna. I was 25 when this came out. I’m glad I wasn’t too young or not born after Madonnamania!
That album I remember I wasn't too fond of when it first came out, but within a couple months, not only did I love it, it became one of my favourites. Still is.
There's a VH1 interview programme called 'Madonna rising' which was made to promote the album.. It is incredible.. Give it a try, it'll increase your standom tenfold 👌
This was such a great reaction video to my favorite artist of all time. Re-living this album thru your experience was great; you are very entertaining. Please more Madonna reactions
What was everyone’s first Madonna album? The first one I bought was Hard Candy because it was like $3 at FYE and I had only listened to her singles up until that point. I know it’s not her best but has a special place in my heart!
Hey, that was my first one too!! I had previously heard her most popular songs, but she got me on Hard Candy. Then I bought her Celebration CD of her greatest hits and also the DVD.
My first Madonna album was her “Celebration” greatest hits CD. Growing up my mom had her “Music”album so I knew and loved that one as well. Today I can say I know all the songs on every album of hers and love almost all of them
@@milkyteawithbiscuits3555 if we’re talking VERY beginning, when I was like 9 or 10 Like a Prayer was playing on the radio and I liked it and i vaguely remember my dad said it was Madonna. I also remember watching glee around the same age and seeing like a virgin and papa don’t preach on glee and not knowing it was Madonna. I remember seeing Peter do ray of light on family guy also not knowing it was Madonna, and then I really remember people making fun of bitch I’m Madonna when it came out but I secretly liked it and listened to a bit of that, maybe a couple more rebel heart songs, the hits like hung up/express yourself/vogue, then bought the hard candy CD a bit after.
Omg i never expected u to love this album so hard!! I love the dramatic reaction 😂😂 tnx for making me laugh for the finst time in a whileeee. Felt like seeing myself react to this 10 years ago ( yes im old😭 ) I still cry while dancing to this album to this day
This is one of my favourite reactions ever... Period. I love this album so I understood what happened to you.. But the humour, the editing the comments you made.. Hilarious.. Loved it Go on the full Madonna.. Do more albums.. Rebel Heart is a great album so is Erotica and Madame x is experimental.. Whatever you want. . Haha just do more.. This was everything.Brilliant
I knew you would be blown away by Ray of Light! So incredibly ahead of its time that you can hear the influences in a variety of sounds and artists today.
This video made my day! You get it. The genius piece of Madonna is encompassed on this masterpiece of work. It’s my fav album of hers and one of the best pop releases ever.
Also I paused it before Mer Girl cause it’s all leading up to this remarkable closing that’s so juggernaut and haunting and different from the rest...excited to laugh at your reaction! Do another M album!!
You are so funny! Not sure what you were so busy adjusting for the first 45 secs, and then you turned on the lamp behind just for that very random “ray of light”. Very apt. Anyway, this was one of my favourite Madonna albums that came out when I was around your age. And it still blows my mind. Very trippy and experimental, with a heavy spiritual and Middle Eastern and Asian vibe. Perhaps she was being a ray of light for her newborn baby at that time. If you love these tracks, then you gotta check out the MVs!
Dude, your reactions are relatable and the perfect amount of drama, excitement, silliness and great editing. My faves are Mer Girl and Frozen by far. The whole album is an iconic masterpiece anyways...
this album was released after the birth of her first daughter (songs such as Little Star, nrm, Drowned world are dedicated to her) and the film Evita, for which she practiced vocals(so her voice sounds especially good on this album). At that time, she was already at the very top of success and it was time to think about deeper things, she began to be interested in questions of life, other religions, and this inspired the creation of the album. And oddly enough, this album was another career highlight, despite the fact that many thought that Madonna would not return to her former popularity. I think it would be logical to make the following reaction to Music, since this is a kind of continuation, they have a similar experimental sound. Even the tour was combined for two albums at once (like Ariana's sweetener and TuN)
This reaction honestly made my entire week. Seeing you lose your shit the way I did the first time I heard it just made me smile! I think all Madonna fans can attest to having very similar experiences with this album! It’s Madonna at her absolute best. Keep the Madonna reactions coming! We LIVE! 💛💛💛
Love this! So happy when younger people discover terrific artists. This came out the year I graduated college. 1998 Madonna was night & day different than 1984 Madonna. Ray of Light is Top 10 Favorite Album of All-Time. Bravo! 👋🏽
I never heard of you til today 😂 but I hope to know you alot better ☺️ I LOVED your reaction of this MASTERPIECE ❣️ What's next?! More Madonna I hope!!!
I'm 36, and went to my local record store to buy the CD the day it came out. I remember lining up, the day before release day, so I can buy my copy, on the stroke of midnight at Tower Records. I still own that copy in pristine condition. I live for your reactions! This is one of her best albums, if not her best. I love it, I never get tired of listening to it. Thanks for bringing Madonna's work to newer generations. Your videos make me squeal e👏ve👏ry👏time. The editing is everything! K I'll shut up now. Bye! Keep up the good work 💕
Not a huge Madonna fan, but I have so much respect for her as an artist 👏 she is and always will be the queen! And I love that she was and always is there our britney 💜
I discovered the power of goodbye at the end of 2019 and I fell in love immediately. up there in my top 2 favorite madonna songs only surpassed by Like a prayer.
I love this CD. I bought this album when it first came out. I was 20 years old. My only issue with it is that I think there's something wrong with my CD. It has too much bass and not enough treble. It sounds a bit muffled because of it. I'm not sure if it was mastered that way or not or if it's just my CD?
Ray of Light is a masterpiece! Madonna was so ahead of her time and people don’t really appreciate her work because of all the controversy… The most incredible artist ever! ❤
Mer Girl is so good!!! The song it’s about her mother who died when she was 5, and how her own motherhood changed the way she looks at life now. “I ran and I ran, I’m still running away” , absolute genius! ❤
Hey u said u like this type of music, i recommend u GUSTAVO CERATI'S - BOCANADA (album in spanish), for me it is like the brother/sister of Ray of Light, it came just one year later, same electronic, relaxing, comforting and unexpected trippy vibes
Brad. I love that you are curious about Madonna but I’m thinking we are all going to be 30 years older by the time you finish! Listen to the songs. At least most of them. Good luck
This album is a masterpiece. My fav Madonna album and one of the best pop albums of all time. Also note Madonna was 40 when she made this masterpiece at still on top of the world Frozen is a long track but gorgeous. The club remixes are a moment too.
Experiencing this album when it first came out was amazing! The music, the promotion, the videos.. Everything was absolutely perfect! The more you listen to it different tracks will grow on you and your favourite songs will change.. React to the videos from the album please, they're amazing!
My Madonna music journey started with this album 23 years ago when it was released...great production, beautiful voice and very personal lyrics. Timeless album, no weak tracks but Skin, Frozen and Nothing really matters are my top3!!!💖🎶🎧
She wanted Liam Howett from the Prodigy to produce it but finally made it with William Orbit, who did Beautiful Stranger too. Orbit came to prominence when Les Rita Mitsouko asked him to remix one of his albums in 1990!! And Katherine Ringer, Les Rita Mitsouko singer was the first one who wore the iconic bra made by Gaultier that Madonna made world famous, only that Ringer wore it in 1984 in "Marcia Baila" video, many years before. Madonna always kept a close eye on the incredible french band. Don't miss all that!! ruclips.net/video/1zWlnzFXcKY/видео.html
Lol too cute!! This album garnered Madonna her first much deserved Grammy. To this day, my favorite album. The Japanese export version of this album had an extra track, Has To Be, which is equally beautiful..
I was 16 when this came out and already a huge fan since I was 5 but this was just her most artistic and creative and adult album to date at the time and it has really stood the test of time. It still sounds brilliant. There are elements within it that give the time period away but it was also so far removed from anything in pop music at the time and she took a huge risk creative risk with this album and it really paid off. It's still my favorite album of hers to date and she released some great ones after this as well.
If you’re into that relaxing downtempo vibe you should definitely react to Björk’s album Vespertine - it literally sounds like heaven with choirs, whispered lyrics, whole ass symphonies and sounds you’ve never heard before that come in and out that will leave you shooketh (plus she wrote a track for madonna back in the day after declining to do a whole album for her lol)
You should totally do that advice series, but instead of just answering you also play a song that perfectly encapsulates the advice you’re trying to convey.
I love how the haters say this woman is irrelevant and people still talk about her till this day. She's the indisputable Queen of Pop. I love her so much.
PERIODT.
Haters? You mean children.
Well more than just children . Even so called fans that have turned their back on her in recent years.

I cried with that song... One of the most beautiful songs I´ve ever heard.
You were shook as one should be when listening to the holy Bible of pop music.
Amen
Yeah, this is the exact reaction of everybody and this is what I expect when I recommend this album 😂
Ray of Bible
Madonna has THE BEST pop catalogue of anyone. Quite possibly the best pop record.

This!!!
Madonna and William Orbit are a mind-blowing combination.
They NEED to collaborate again!
Ray of light is a masterpiece
Substitute for Love is one of her best songs ever.
The lyrics are AMAZING!
And so underrated
you could tell madonna was really questioning reality when making this album
🤍🤍
In my opinion, "Ray of Art" is Madonna's best album.
Although she also has other pop Bibles; "Confessions on a dance floor", "Like a prayer", and "Erotica".
Madonna undoubtedly wrote the book, and the other pop stars just read it.
ray of art?
FROZEN is my favorite Madonna song. This was a huge moment when she changed to long black hair for the music video.
The video for “Frozen” is stunning
Me too .. I think the first time I heard it was the tv show Felicity?? And I still remember the scenes it was played in like 15 years later

nothing really matters and little star are about her daughter she had just had at that time 😭 love the reactions king!
Substitute for love is about Lola too, I think more than Nothing really matters. In NRM she talks a lot about Kabbalistic teachings.
that's why Madonna is the queen of pop ♥️ please do "Bedtime Stories", "Erotica" or "American Life" next ♡
Bedtime stories and erotica definitely 👍🏻
And MUSIC!
Imagine Frozen being played in a large fuck off theatre.

AMAZING REACTION! Thank you so much for this incredible experience. I loved it!
Welcome to the greatest album of all time. 💕
This made me smile so much thank you. I’m off to listen to it again
If you listened all her albums from 1983 onwards upto 2019 in order you will see how much she progressed and developed musically and artistically.
Yes yes yes
Love your reaction Brad
Definitely Madonna's best album
Ray of light is a MASTERPIECE, PERIOD! I love this album so much, so honest and well produced. 10/10
Ray of Light is a masterpiece! Madonna was so ahead of her time and people don’t really appreciate her work because of all the controversy… The most incredible artist ever! ❤
She's the queen for a reason ❤️👑
Great reaction Brad! This Madonna album is great! Thnls for sharing your thoughts! Take care!
The first song and little star is about Lola , her daughter
I remember buying this record and finally becoming a Madonna fan after growing up with her and liking her music
MADAME X IS A MASTERPIECE
Mer Girl is so good!!! The song it’s about her mother who died when she was 5, and how her own motherhood changed the way she looks at life now. “I ran and I ran, I’m still running away” , absolute genius! ❤
he imagined Frozen being played in a theater.. and it actually happened on Madame X Tour lol
Good luck
"Sky Fits Heaven" has always been my favorite track on that album! :)
This album is a masterpiece. My fav Madonna album and one of the best pop albums of all time. Also note Madonna was 40 when she made this masterpiece at still on top of the world
Frozen is a long track but gorgeous.
Drowned World and Little Star are about her daughter... The opening and closing song 💕 she also worked with a vocal coach
This album Is a trip
A masterpiece! 😍

Best album reaction EVER 🤣. This album is an absolute masterpiece. So glad you appreciated Madonna's genius.
Madonna had to run for pop girls after her could walk
I'm so happy you are reacting to Madonna's albums. After Britney reacts these are my favorite ones. Madonna is simply God!
I've never subsbribed so quickly!! totally dig ya bro!
"Little Star" is about her daughter. "Mer Girl" is about her mother, who died when Madonna what a child. This is my favorite album.
