- I had the pleasure with sitting down with the brilliant Atlegang Govusa, who speaks about her bad financial decisions and overcoming them.
In this conversation we speak about how easy it is to get caught up in a web of debt from just the start of your career.

In 2019 I returned a car that I bought in 2017. After I found out I'm expecting my 2nd baby I made that decision in a rush. I was so hurt but free at the same time. The car was still in an excellent condition and I was only left with R35 000 shortfall after hard long negotiations. I went through it and I realise it is the best decision I've ever taken. 4 years later I managed to buy my own low cost car that is not luxury and I am debt free. Sometimes you gotta do what is needed and take the most painful decision to survive.
Completely unrelated, but wow sis (the guest) looks so gorgeous with her natural face and hair!
I had been following Atlegang for some time when she dropped the Merc video and I must say that she really took charge of the narrative and owned it like a boss by being honest and vulnerable upfront. The abantu bazothini squad had no chance cause she really showed up for her truth. 🙌🏽
Wow! I’m a 21-year-old female that’s still trying to find my ground and grow in my knowledge of how to manage my finances. This was so helpful! May God continue to bless you ladies for sharing such insightful knowledge.
Someone asked whats the big deal with RUclips and I said either than enjoying seeing people live well and getting countless plugs 🔌 RUclips is like watching a visual interview of people whose perspective you like even though you don't know them personally. I enjoy both your channels, I was definitely drawn to Atlegang's channel by the video about the car trade in.
It Just A Car. ❤. If we can start to understand that we could make great decisions on cars just like that. It also goes with very un affordable houses. It just a House. ❤. But what if we can take it a notch further and say that in every Liability that is out of reach in a certain time of our lifetime. We almost forget that when we are born the same thing is happening to some people and they are not the first people. Really now I understand when the Bible Said there is nothing new under the Sun.
I have an interesting story and I’m willing to share @Mapalo.
Admitting that you have an issue with managing finances, yes that’s it! So enlightening.
On this one let me say I was once told the problem with black middle class is social signalling when you want to show everyone that you have arrived for example by buying car's
It's the way she laughs for me, love her🥰
I enjoyed this conversation so much. We actually married COP simply because we were broke, young and desperately wanted to be together 😅 But we had met with a lawyer and just decided to spend the 1.5k elsewhere- that’s how broke we were.
I’m about to get rid of my car that is just so expensive, I am so happy I watched this video
“Starting with the little I have” couldn’t agree less. Building a habit to save is critical and it’s all about starting
Since the year began, I have been trying to save but it has been a struggle until I have watched this conversation, I've opened a fixed savings account even though we are already in July 😅 it is fixed up to February 2024 , and it feels so good 🤪
Laughing because I was that one who bought a corsa when everyone was buying GERMAN machines, but I was just on my lane.....and happy for them
Last comment, but my biggest takeaway is learning to become principled! Thoroughly enjoyed this, let me head over to binge Atlegang’s videos!❤
I don’t know why this conversation is not on TV, Radio n all over !! This was amazing n sooo informative!!❤
I have definitely watched Atlegang’s video on this, but watching this again as an interview has provided me with such a fresh perspective on how to approach making big (and small) financial decisions as a young adult. Thank you Atlegang!❤️
This is a critical conversation; well done for not caring about "what will people say" and being true to yourself. Your story is so similar to mine, I bought a BMW because I was still staying at home with no other responsibilities.... until adulting began😂. I think I am going to do a video on "Single mothers and money" because its another tricky space.
I love Atlie's aura. She's so sweet!
