Nardwaur is a great interviewer even without being prepared with crazy questions about your past, at first i was like this interview isnt going anywhere but then it started to pick up.
Yeah, I was thinking that during the intro... There's no way he would have been able to do his research. Fair play to both though. Just two greats vibing.
I’m literally the same way I will not sit with my back to a door/ room. Someone told me years ago that makes me a mason because I tend to sit on an angle with my arms crossed, how that works I don’t know lmao

Sir, I don't know if you'll see this, but you are a canadian national treasure, and you fully deserve your own place in the canadian rock and roll hall of fame.
That’s the ideal celebrity music interview, no prep, just walking through a record store and talking with them about everything that stands out at them
Brilliant how Nardwuar used the actual environment and Thundercat's music knowledge to the interview's benefit despite his unusual unpreparedness. Genius
6:40 - "i've done plenty of informercials for barbeque companies, and a couple of tire commercials" is thundercat describing Jones BBQ & Footmassage & Truck Rental & Storage?
Thx for doing such a physical physical interview. Record stores were all about this kind of cross pollination of ideas and free associations being made.
Thundercat is kind of like the Sun Ra of the last few years, in terms of his presence and prowess as a player. But maybe not in terms of his ability to hump himself.
Two super chilled out guy’s. First aware of Thunder Cat when he played for Mac Miller on tiny desk. Everything I’ve seen of him since I’ve loved. His laid back funk , R n B and whatever he calls his style. Also his mannerisms when he speaks are admirable. What a gentleman.
This was brilliant!! Seriously great job pulling this off on the fly Nardwuar! It flowed like a carefree woodland river and delivered priceless treasures!
ive never listened to thundercat, but he seems like such a relatable and genuine person. probably going to listen to some of his stuff. would love some recommendations
Them changes are my 2 favs from him, but he also has another rlly good song which was a collab w gorillaz called "cracker island". But the rest of thundercats shit is sick too
Love the impromptu idea of having Thundercat just walk around the record store. It really brings out the child in the artist when browsing nostalgic records.
I don’t believe a word of that story lol. Starting a bonfire in the middle of the stadium? Tom Morello talking to him personally backstage in the middle of the set? “The sheriff’s department” coming and breaking up the riot in a South American country?
