    same company here... and I share your same sentiments. ATL based and this is truly a time we are navigating here. I keep hearing "we came in at a good time" which I still believe is true and then almost 2 years on the line, trips are getting harder to come by, and many of these swaps are unrealistic to what people are looking for. There was a time when the big three (AMS, CDG, AMS) were always on the board for pick-up and now you can't even find that. The only upside I did see to this is that in ATL people right 3-2 1/2 years in are off a-days and it's pretty promising for the mothership base lol and I'm so close. To hear the senior mommas and papas say they had never seen this before has my ears up now but dare I say this is what the intentions were all along giving the new pay scale. I'm also trying to get back into vlogging outside of work since I'm not working that much. Hopefully peak season will prove me wrong.

      yes honestly its been a bit difficult to navigate how unique things are right now! i know my training friends in slc & seattle are already off adays and i am so jealous about that haha. maybe some more super senior people will decide to retire to help us all out haha
      but yes i am really interested to see how the summer season looks with all these new FAs. i feel like the company is maybe unintentionally testing out how peak flying season will look with having our FA staffing so big.

    It is great that you are thinking of sticking with the job for a long time- it's refreshing to hear that. Best of luck to you. I saw something the other day with another FA from your airline and she was talking to another FA who was number 5 with the company, she started in 1965! Unreal dedication and she looked amazing - still working and loving it. No 5! You are a dedicated lady with what seems like a lot of talent --- I wish you all the best in whatever you choose to do in your life!

    Kendra, I randomly found you over a year ago. I watched your journey becoming a Flight Attendant and I became a Flight Attendant with another company !!!I had to leave due to not being able to pick up shifts getting denied 175 times and the struggle continued. I’m so thankful that you are speaking about this because it made me feel comfortable even though I feel like it’s not the right decision me quiting. But I have me clearly, once I left that company, I have many many possibilities to start a new chapter 🩷

      that is honestly so lovely to hear! i feel like the best time to learn what you want out of life is when you put yourself out there and challenge yourself with a new opportunity. you became and FA and after working at it you decided that you might need something else out of life instead and the fact that you learned that is the beautiful part about it all. thank you for sharing your experience with me! i’m so glad you stumbled across my channel 🖤

    I’m at a different mainline carrier. It’s been really weird lately. Especially with negotiations, pay, etc. They keep hiring so many people, just for them to quiet within the first couple months because of the pay. Plus the trips, have gone downhill severely.
    You’re so real for this. It’s just really really weird right now. All carriers are experiencing this.

    Awesome cinematography once again. I could look at your work over and over again. Were you a film major? Or theatre? Truly remarkable!.. anyway with that said...i think we walked in the same circles. I got my cjo in 2020 too and went thru class right behind you...things are about the same in the home base.,..but I am glad to see the growth.,..my Aday3 disappeared off my schedule for March like the day our schedules dropped. And im kinda scared to put my trips to drop because I know they will get picked up immediately. Same here you won't see things in open time for like a week. So its been hard to switch trips. But on the plus side i have been getting the days off i request and also Aday start when I want. Thats amazing fir less than 2 years in this position. And I am so excited for the ones that are off standby in 3 years...😮in Atlanta...who would have thought? We'll see what summer brings....and hopefully we should be hearing some good news soon in the coming weeks that will take your mind off the low schedule value we've experienced since Oct... enjoy the relaxation now...as soon it will be a thing of the past. Happy flying my friend and thanks again for the great content ❤

      ant hank you so much! i cannot tell you adequately how nice it is to hear comments like this. i really love the artistry behind filming and editing these videos so it means so much to hear that people are enjoying it!
      my april schedule was not super full but i was scheduled a few more trips than last time which is good! i’m still getting used to having lax as my base when it comes to bidding and all of that but so far it has been a good experience!!
      my training class friends in seattle no longer had adays starting on their january schedule, and my slc training friend wont have adays starting next month.. so i;m starting to rethink my base situation haha but i have enjoyed the flying out of lax so far so i don’t know if i want to give that up!
      anyway, i hope you are well!!

    Is this a US specific issue? I've seen financial comments from US carriers saying that demand in international flights is doing better than domestic flights. I recall hearing that Middle-eastern airlines or Cathay Pacific in HK cut so many people during the Pandemic, now they're struggling to resume the flights. It's not a plane or passenger shortage, rather they're understaffed in every segment. Cathay even had to cancel flights for pilot shortages.

Also, I'm a pretty good judge of character, I can tell there is absolutely nothing dumb about you and the good thing is it shows in your videos. Gosh I really do wish you all the happiness in the world

    I fly for AA and it is dry town over here too. I flew 41 hours this month. Couldn’t even pick up a TURN. It’s insane. My check is going to suck next month. Ugh hoping to fly back to my 100 hours next month or momma is gonna be hurtingggggg

      omg yes i get it!!! i only had like 50hrs when my february schedule was first released. and i’m lax based which is a super senior base for us and im fairly junior to that base so i was shocked haha.
      my march and april schedules have been better and more filled so i think it’s starting to pick up!

    Thanks for your honest opinion! And fun vlog! I just moved to slc and got interested in FA job. It sounds like you would be ok if you wanna just work part time hours and pay??!! What do you think?

    • @KendraCus
      @KendraCus  8 месяцев назад +1

      there isn’t really such a thing as “part time” when it comes to the FA position however you can try to drop trips in order to have more of a part time situation! it depends on the season when it comes to how often people are picking up trips but it’s definitely a possibility!

    I’m currently debating if I should take on this flight attendant job I got offered for a big airline. The pay isn’t a lot 😵‍💫
    Do I stay in the office with a steady check? Or cut the income and be a FA? 😭

    • @KendraCus
      @KendraCus  8 месяцев назад

      changing careers is always a risk but i think it comes down to what you want out of life!
      i’ve had some incredible experiences as an FA that have reminded me that this is the job for me. but it’s definitely important to remember that everyone’s life is different & everyone needs different things out of life.
      i love this job so much, and though there are pros and cons of every job, the pros outweigh the cons for me.
