Why I Quit My Dream Job + Five Things I Wish I Had Known Before I Became a Flight Attendant

  • Hello, RUclips!
Whether or not you are a flight attendant wanna be, this video is for you.
Please be advised that this video is not a reflection of my former company. The views and opinions I have expressed are merely personal and in no way meant to harm any establishment especially within the aviation insudtry.
Meanwhile, I am so glad to finally share this video I’ve been working on for months and, to be honest, even before I resigned from my dream job at Qatar Airways. I’ve always known that my time with Qatar is temporary so the time has come to tell you why I actually quit (not that anyone cares). LOL I just felt that there were so many things that I wasn’t prepared for before joining this fast-paced world of aviation. I wanted to share it with you hoping to inspire and in no way to discourage you in case you would like to join The Best Airline In The World.
Anyway, there are so many recruitment days happening around the world and I encourage you to apply for this job and change your life for good! But let’s face it, although being a flight attendant has plenty of perks, it has a down side, too. Watch the video for more.
DON’T FORGET TO LIKE, COMMENT AND SUBSCRIBE!
    Have a good day!

"our generation is trap in making more announcement on social media instead of making more actions to achieve a goal". that's true, its really hard to refrain from overly sharing on social media or just your F&F. I always try to keep a mental note that I need to do the work first before I share the achievement. I always feel like if I tell my plans, in the end I'm just gonna jinx it

This is why I always make sure to treat FA's nicely when I fly.
And even on a few occasions when FA is rude to me, I try not to take it personally.
And yes, I always say "Thank you" to the FA.
Even tho they don't show it, inside they know it's one less rude passenger to deal with.

I worked for the same airline for more than a decade as a Purser and i flew with you. It is ironic that some "thinkers" sees the video content as motherly, yet, feelers thinks otherwise. The video , music and editing or cinematography i should say was well laid out like i am watching a quality documentary. Salute to your creativity and endless shots where you should not be caught, haha!
Trully, health is weath and not just for FA's--everyone should see in their hearts "what trully matters" to them. Life is short, Middle east is a transit area just like Jobs are tangible ( title or honor regardless ) and Life is meant to be experienced. God bless your next endeavour.

to those who were not born with a silver spoon like me money is vital to survive but it will never secure you peace of mind
no amount of money can give you a healthier life
while we are busy reaching for a dreams and chasing after material things, we have forgotten about our loved ones who were only getting old
until there were be no more next time
you still have the chance to change the direction of your life until you dont
i was afraid to be stuck at one place FOREVER
❤️❤️❤️ I now became a fan! continue to inspire others like me who is stucked at my comfort zone. i hope i can get out of this too, way too soon. nice editing btw.

Hello ma'am! I'm only a junior highschooler from the Philippines, and I really love and would want to travel the world, though I didn't know how I was gonna earn the money, I instantly wanted to be a flight attendant after my mom recommend it to me shortly after, ik it's gonna take a long time since I'm still pretty young, but I wanna be prepared to pursue this goal!
When i watch RUclips vids on a flight attendants day at work, it would always make me more motivated because it felt like it was the perfect job, greeting guests, bringing them food, being skilled at evacuation methods, etc, but thanks to your honesty, now I know the not so dreamy side of it--
And now I could prepare myself for all of it. Thank you ❤️ ( sorry I'm not the best at English )

    Greetings from Taiwan! Mabuhy!
I was also QR crew, I was 96XXX before I got redundancy.
I really love this video, and all the questions and doubts you raised in it, cause I was having the same thoughts when I was still flying. I super duper love aviation and flying, but was also facing kind of the same dilemma in my mind.
It’s been 2 years since I lost this job, but still all those good memories keep spinning in my head, Like always traveling, meeting new people worldwide, working with amazing crew ( like ate and kuya😂), being a FA give you advantages and shortcomings as well, especially with QR.
I think I’m still struggling with rejoining or moving on, I just haven’t find a conclusion yet, so when I saw this video I felt really connected with my situation.
Anyways, glad you finally move on, and best wishes for my fellow ex crew friend 😂

Hi Mira! Today I was asked, what my moment of pride is. I could only think of the day I resigned as CSD almost two years ago when everyone was holding on for dear work.
I felt the lightest and the happiest in almost 9 years. It felt soooo goooood and a feeling of success dawned over me. Ironic but so sweet!
Being able to let go of a job everyone tells you that you won't be able to because of an incomparable salary and lifestyle is such a mark of maturity and courage. There has to be a realization at one point that time, moments, and life on ground are too precious to trade years of a high, fast, and somehow lavish jetsetting lifestyle.
Be prepared of the days you'll miss traveling so much. I shed tears like crazy as if my heart was broken by a lover. But PEACE OF MIND AND NOT BEING ANXIOUS ALL THE TIME are so worth it.
Loving every bit of this season on ground.
I hope you will, too. I wish you joy and happiness with your feet on the ground!
    Proud of your decision!

One of the best companies in the world and still behaving with them workers in the worst way possible. Extremly severe rules and threats making you and the work under pressure.
The job is absolutely nice however the company it makes you overthink about it in a way that is not worth it. You give your 120% and you accept all the rules costing your freedom, a very high price for 10K QR.
Best company to fly with worst one to work for.

I like your art work, that's is simply very rear output in personality. Good luck, and enjoy, very glad that you quit, if need be have a more education in art filed, and became very talented artist, because I see powerful personality here. All my support to you, enjoy!

Our son just became a flight attendant, and he is based quite away from home. I’m glad he has friends there, and he hopes to be transferred back here in a few months. Right now, it’s too soon to tell, but it’s pretty much a struggle doing this job, with a long commute to his base. A 1 hr train ride, then subway, bus. I don’t know when we can see him again. It’s a concern. I just don’t know. It will be the 1st time we will not see him, for birthdays, holidays. I wish you the best of luck.

I admire your courage for giving up your job for the people and things who truly matter. To many, becoming a flight attendant is the ultimate dream job. Who wouldn’t want to travel the world for free!? But the thing is, does this job makes you fulfilled and complete? Is it worth it working away from your loved ones? Grieving alone when a family member dies? Is it worth it shopping and having your dinner in a nice country knowing your mother misses you so much? Your story gave me so much realizations in life. Thank you for sharing it and may God blesses you on your next journey! This is not the end for you. The best is yet to come! We’re all proud of your decision!

I have always wondered why some flight attendants resign not too long after they get their "dream job" and this definitely gives very valid reasons.
The ironic thing though, is that I wanted to do this job as well and the opportunity to do it came at a time when I had been moving around relocating, so I was looking for stability and "settling down", and so I did not accept the invite for training with United and went instead into a "corporate 9-5 job" from which a couple of years later I actually ended up getting laid off! And so I thought.."well, so much for stability!"
Anyway all that to say that nothing is really for granted, but if you could already tell that was not your path, then by all means, kudos for recognizing it and taking action.
I don't know if you met your mate and ended up in CPH due to your job, so if that's the case, that's a huge "benefit" combined with all the memories. So, I'd say it was worth it.. Congrats 👏🎉!

    • @miraalegre

Yes! I met my husband because of my job and I am grateful for it plus the memories. It’s okay if you havent found the stability youre looking for, keep looking and you’ll get there.
