"I wanna see this live." As someone who's been present at an Iron Maiden show where they played this you really do. Hearing 15,000 people sing along to this with total devotion and passion is like a religious experience.
I saw Iron Maiden live in 2010 when they were near Detroit, michigan. They played this song as a tribute to the late Ronnie James Dio. I've been to my fair share of concerts, but I have never, NEVER heard a roar quite as loud and heartfelt as I heard for that tribute. 🤘🤘

Iron Maiden is coming to North America next year for their Legacy of the Beast tour!!! I would recommend that over any other concert!!! YOU WILL BE FLOORED!!!
Its impossible to have just 1 fav song from Iron Maiden since they have so many awesome songs. I may be wrong but i think you havent listened to any from the 7th son of the 7th son album. Give it a go. Its a great album.
Iron Maiden means masterpiece after masterpiece after masterpiece after masterpiece. An incredible band. Seventh Son, Empire of the clouds, Where the wild wind blows, The talisman, Dance of death... Incredible.
Every time they play this song live it has so much love and passion behind it, from Rock in Rio to En Vivo and especially The live chapter of the book of souls Bruce gave an amazing speech before the song in 2016 on the book of souls that unfortunately got cut out of the music video, it was recorded a few days after the Orlando massacre “The message we send is that, is that no matter how many people you try and kill... life, love, laughter and music will go on and go on and go on”
Ridiculous to think this album and Bruce + Adrian's return to the band was in 2000. I think of this as 'new' Iron Maiden. Still needed: Iron Maiden - Wasted Years (live) Iron Maiden - Caught Somewhere in Time (studio) Iron Maiden - Aces High (live) Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son (live) and 50 others
Eric F krackenthorpe Janick well and truly deserves his place in the band, and he’s probably my favourite songwriter, even though I prefer Dave and Adrian’s solos most of the time. His one in this song is perfection though

Iron Maiden being my favourite band, I love watching these reaction videos to them. I remember watching your first one, seems to me it was Hallowed be thy Name, and you said in your opinion no other Maiden song could top that one. That's just how good Iron Maiden are, man.
Idk about you guys, but i always so nervous to play this song on my earphones publicly because i always gets emotional while listening to it. The amount of emotion in blood brothers is overwhelming
Preston, Preston, Preston. You have given me hope. I'm 40 this year and have dedicated 30 years listening to Maiden. They were my first love, my greatest love, my last love. I have seen them only 7 times and like you I missed their early years and it brings me the greatest pain to have missed those classics live. However you continue to hit it right with your synopsis. They have a signature, they have a hook and are stubbornly carving their own path and unfaltering in that journey. My dad who is in his 70's has joined me to see maiden twice and we both love them. I've got to say, the feelings, emotion and joy you're feeling is exactly what I felt as a 10 year old boy watching live after death for the first time. Heart beating fast, physically shaking and hairs on my neck stood on end, I knew, this was it. There's just nobody like them. Seeing you experience them for the first time on hallowed be thy name was a joy. You just GET it. I'd really like you to have a listen to "The thin line between love and hate" off the Brave new world album. Bruce's vocals on that song are insane. Also give "stranger in a strange land" off the album Somewhere in time. Neither of these are what the typical maiden fan would suggest but they are songs that have had a huge impact on me and my own playing style in my own band. Happy listening.
This entire album is f**King fantastic, saw this song live in Glasgow with my 3 lifelong buddies. Plenty of beers and tears, it's a special song for me.
If he does Rime he needs to do the live version from the Flight 666 DVD. Those fireworks after the eerie part are one of the most amazing things I've seen in a live performance.
this was my number one favorite song when I was six years old 😭 makes me happy when people hear it for the first time like I did when I was little in the car with my mom and brother:’)
I saw them last summer and they played it live. And it is special especially how Bruce introduced the song; he said how the world leaders are fucked up for trying to divide us. And said that there's people who don't like people for their skin color, that they don't practice the right religion, don't like that who they marryor just don't like people for their face or what have you. That none of that matters to them - everyone is there to see an Iron Maiden show and none of those things matter to them; that everyone is welcome. Basically saying we're all blood brothers. I thought it was really amazing and everyone had phone lights/lighters whatever (mostly lighters where I was) But it was truly awesome. They're so good live and love what they do and the fans so much - you can really tell by the way they perform.
From this album I would suggest many songs: "Nomad", Dream of Mirrors", "Out of the Silent Planet" , "The thin line between Love and Hate", "Ghost of Navigator" ... Good job my friend. Greetings from Italy! :-)
Seen em' live many, many times. Live with Slayer in London about 2 months after this album came out (summer 2000) amazing concert, first time they played most of songs from this album live in their hometown. Epic night
I was lucky enough to witness this song live back in 2010. The Wicker Man and Dream of Mirrors are also great songs off that album. And yes, there's two recorded live versions from 2001, Rock In Rio, and 2011, En Vivo!
Yeah absolutely Preston, when I first heard this song back in 2000 I immediately took notice of the interesting instrumentation. Most notably during the chorus. Gave me goose bumps.

I knew Harris wrote this song, but, didn't know he wrote it in the memory of his father...
