Where are you? Are you going to upload any new videos soon, or are you currently doing a break?
Your Videos were fantastic, educational and overall very enjoyable.
It would be a pity, if you abandone your channel and your community, without telling us.
However, I can totally understand, in case you don't want to make videos anymore, but it would've been nice, if you at least have said goodbye. Anyways, I just wanted to say, that I really appreciated the effort and the work you've put in all of your videos.

Great video as always man! , Glad you finally got a working 7950gx2 Third time lucky!. Regarding the board. 1, try a new CR2032 battery some boards will play dead till a new battery is inserted. 2, check if the CMOS reset jumper is not in the reset position some boards will refuse to boot when in the reset position. 3, check for shorts ..give the board a good twice overs with a paintbrush to remove suspect dust/gunk etc.. especially USB ports. 4, try booting with the p4 connector removed if it boots then something's dead around the voltage area.... 5950 looks cool love the frost Nvidia logo effect in the shroud

Man that style of GTX295 is a pain to re-paste...Re-assembling it is one of my greatest achievements. Also that rubberiseed plastic is inpossible to clean properly.

Check if north bridge on the motherboard is in one piece. Also check power sockets for burnt contacts.

How I repaired some components sometimes is buy applying flux everywhere and go with a soldering iron over all the components. Sometimes this works really well

on the motherboard... force it on and check the mosfet temps. you might have a dead one in there. it'll run with it taken out, but you should be able to find a replacement on Arrow, which is worth it since they have free overnight shipping. they're basically paying you to buy from them.

its neither bios nor 32KHz quartz. As you already suspected No reaction to power button means either
one of power supplies (derived from standby rail) on the board missing (dead/shorted)
shorted board power input on one of the ATX rails - ATX supply would shut itself down after being forced ON with a paperclip, so thats most likely not it
dead chipset
one of the small logic chips between power on button/atx connector/and chipset dead
most can be checked with multimeter on forced ON ATX supply. You dont have to bother with CPU/RAM while testing, board should power on empty.
btw I see scratches on pcb at 14:05, while this couldnt cause no reaction to power button, it could make the board not post.

Some realy nice stuff right there. I'd realy realy like to get my hands on one of those high-end GeForce FX cards , because it's a collectors item afterall. Buying one is too expensive, and with a big risk of not working at all. But sometimes you get lucky with a trash-find or thriftshop find someone dumping those cards (or the entire pc) not knowing what 'gems' are still inside. Had some luck with 3dFX voodoo cards in that regard, some have come up in price quite high.
There’s nothing wrong with the BIOS on the asrock mobo. You should probably try an all new battery. Not sure if you have replaced it with a new battery or a used battery?
It’s very likely that the chipset has been too hot. The BGA package could have come loose from the board. Reflowing the chipset might work.
Also you were correct about the voltage regulators on the motherboard. They can definitely be the cause. Firstly you should check the above, though!

Wasn't i865 THE one chipset that was susceptible to ESD via USB frying the southbridge? I wonder if that's what happened to your Asrock board.
Yes but it most likely died off other cause. Back in the day I had this board and it lasted only about 3 years. Later it started getting unstable on higher FSB until it became unstable on default and later would not even post. Asrock made many unique boards back then, but the quality was not there. They were super cheap low-end to begin with. On the other hand I have one of the Gigabyte I865 board with Core2 support and that one still runs fine and even has Intel LAN over realtek.
Have you checked Wether it has a touch " on " switch or constant touch switch on the motherboard . Some older boards need a constant touch switch power on
I love FX lineup. So weird and crappy for XP, yet so great for 98. Best I have is an FX 5600 Ultra. I wish I could get a FX 5950
That's a real shame that Asrock board didn't work. There is a 4coredual-sata2 up for auction right now on ebay. If there is a generous viewer about, you should totally buy it for the channel.
It can be a victim of a storm and a lightning attack, sometimes lan chips go shorted and suprisingly taking them off takes the board back to life.
I have the 1280 x 1024 version of that dell monitor and I absolutely love it due to the versatility of the stand and the high sound quality of the attachable sound bar.

You should get one this those trouble shooter pci cards. They have a digital display that gives you an error code.
Also, there's a trick to "bring back to life" any motherboard that won't boot. You have to bridge some power pins... I forget which ones, but a quick Google search for green black atx trick will show you how to do it

Voltage regulator. Use a meter to see if the baord is dead shorting.

Got lucky to find one locally for 20 euros, whats more the previous owner had it modded with japanese capacitors and custom bios for 45nm support. It's a cool board, but its not the best, probably DFI G7S620-N-G is, but that one trully isnt easy to find =/
