👋 Anyone reading the comments about to have their surgery … let me explain my experience. ( I got them out 5 hours ago ) I WAS A NERVOUS WRECK before hand watching every video possible reading all experiences on reddit and comments on these videos from the good ones to the bad ones. I’ve been nervous since they told me last year they were coming in. It was a peice of CAKE for the people like me who have severe anxiety about medical stuff you will be just fine! I wasn’t worried about the recovery more so the surgery itself, and a little stressed about the IV ( i was put to sleep with IV sedation ) the IV was NOTHING me and the assistant were giggling and I was asking if I should watch him put it in or look away and he promised me it was nothing and maybe id enjoy watching it go in.. I looked away 😭 but it barley felt like anything, like a poke a tiny little prick. they put the thing on to check my blood pressure every 5 minutes and the thing on ur thumb along with some like patches they put on my lower side and chest. Sat there for about 30 minutes with the IV in my arm until the doctor was ready. He came in asked how I was lowered the chair down and put this thing on my neck to monitor my breathing I think he said,, and then he released THE GOOD ( the fluids into the IV ) it was a crazy experience.. like i was out but wasn’t ? all i last remember is seeing is the light and then within seconds it was done. I was so stressed for NOTHING. so glad I went with IV sedation because I didn’t feel a darn thing! 😂 and the loopyness afterwards ain’t all that bad either. I would definitely do it over again and take away all the stress from before because it was nothing.

Im 24. A month ago I was extremely nervous to have three of my wisdom teeth extracted. This was my first surgery of any kind and the first time being put under.
I had no idea what to expect under Iv sedation. The only thing I remember is getting the IV and everything else after that is erased from my memory. I would get Iv sedated all over again, it really is incredible what happens. I’m still fascinated to this day, hence why I’m watching this yt video lol

TattooedRatt0,, did you get laughing gas? I got 4 teeth pulled yesterday, and I got laughing gas before they put the iv, and I didn’t even feel a single thing when they put the iv, because the laughing gas made me feel high, and then the surgeon told me, that he would put some sleepy sleep medicine through the iv, and then about 5 seconds later, he told me that they’re already done. Also, make sure to ask that they put the iv in the forearm, because I have read online, and been told by a nurse, that that’s the least painful spot, and on top of the hand is horrible.

Cost for IV sedation on top of procedure in Australia is around $1200.
PS for those with anxiety. I just hope its not under Fentanyl. I had Fentanyl for a colonoscopy and endoscopy and repeatadly "woke up" in pain in a panic of where I was and what was happening. I watched this last night and went to get my wisdom teeth removed this morning. They put a needle on my vein and after a few seconds they told me the product was going to be injected and that it'll be in effect in 30sec or so. I was taking a deep breath and fell asleep as if taking a nap watching tv or something. After 40-50min i woke up and all was done! I paid the bill and listened to post op instructions😉 now i cant eat anything solid for a day so i'm having my 3rd bottle of yogurt. There's a bit of pain on my left chin but i'm happy and relieved🙌You will be fine too!

@@Hjkmaz I genuinely forgot to reply to this. Okay so basically they talked me through it but I had a panic attack and freaked out majorly. Everyone was nice about it. They lay me down, made me breath and put the IV in (which to me hurt) then all I remember is going dizzy, saying "ow" because they pulled the tooth out and then nothing. I remember after going to sit down whilst I came around, my face felt all numb

Went under IV Sedation for wisdom teeth extraction yesterday. Remember and feel nothing, but was told by parent and doctors that I screamed and cried the whole time. No trauma for me, but lots for them. Any thoughts on why this happens?

@@lozr666 idk honestly, the doctor said it’s normal because you’re actually still subconsciously awake. So, my body felt the pain during the time but I didn’t remember it because of the amnesia effect. I think I suffered trauma after all- I went in for a post op and had a extreme panic attack when they tried to look in my mouth so, idk. I would recommend general anesthesia if that’s an option for you lol

For those of us who suffer from severe vasovagal syncope, allergies to epinephrine, and severe dental and needle phobia, I'd like to know what the protocol is for sedating someone who's already in syncope, or who goes in to syncope while sedated. My nightmare scenario is having my blood pressure fall through the floor, becoming dizzy, getting pins and needles, the cold sweats, and going 90% of the way to passing out before then being sedated or during sedation, and being aware in that moment of the absolute nightmarish shit hole than I'm in. I don't care if I don't remember any of it afterwards, I don't want to be aware of it at all.

I have a situation. I have went to the dentist to get my tooth remove but i felt pain so he proscribed me to a maxilofacial to get it out, but even with the anesthetic i felt pain. Now im going under iv sedation cuz i have a abscess in that area. Will i feel that horrible pain i felt two times? This is my last option.
