I was never a fan of Kingdom Hearts, but just the fact how Sakurai and Nintendo went through copyright hell and back to make so many fans happy is enough for me to celebrate this as the big finale of Smash Ultimate.
And the fact that it came out after one year that Disney fell into despair for all the bad corporate decisions, like the MulanBoycott, I guess we deserved that one.
Sakurai is legendary and will go down as one of the most legendary creators to those who believed in all their hearts that Sora would sit among the legends of gaming and take his rightful place with Mario, Sonic, Pikachu, Mr. Game and Watch, DK, Link, and Pac-Man.
@@robbiewalker2831 in regards to video games, Disney has been pretty lenient. I don’t know why, but at the very least KH is their most profitable venture regarding video games. Considering how much freedom Nomura has with his series (and yeah, he has freedom. There’s no way half the stuff he does would have happened if not for freedom), I’m honestly confused sora hadn’t come sooner. Unless Sakurai was holding off (understandably).

@@Lightningstrike1220 Actually, Sora IS pretty anime because what is considered japanese anime features were heavily inspired by Disney cartoons, and since a lot of classic Disney-inspired character design details were added to Sora's design, it wouldn't be wrong to refer to him as an anime or at least an animesque character.
@@rotciv557 that actually makes no sense, his main costume (shown in kh1/ ssbu) is COMPLETELY inspired by mickey mouse's classic outfit then evolved into something more than that. disney never really had any anime influence since it was all american; disney as its own brand decimates anime (as far as i know) in japan or at least rivals with it. just because japanese niggas helped make the character doesn't make it an anime character, maybe japanese art influence like big hero 6 but not anime.

Every single fighter on the list he would have been hype for. From Byleth to Pyra. He would love every single one of them. I miss his stuff. And I get reminded of him everytime I see another fighter in smash.
I love the symbolism in this trailer. Mario reaching out to the fire is the risk that Nintendo took when they entered the legal battle to get Sora into the game, and Sora arriving shows him reigniting their hearts and returning the light.
I wish I had recorded my wife's reaction. She's just as much a kingdom hearts fan as you can get, and she was asleep when the announcement came out. I was at work so I sent her a text that said "This looks like a great place to find some ingredients" and she lost her mind. She's still excited about it even now. Sora's like the only character she really wanted in Smash.
Same boat here, man! Mine was at work listening to the presentation, and I know exactly when she found out because all of a sudden I got *all* of the text spamming. She later told me her boss saw her crying snd asked if everything was okay. She responded, "it's complicated" and just left it at that.

@@TaydolfSwifter everybody who plays Smash at least didn’t play one of those game franchises, and normally the attack Fire Emblem characters(deserved because they waste a lot of spots) and Sora. I personally only played the first KH game so I don’t have any attachment to the franchise, but seeing him there just felt so magical
Honestly, starting this off with the Salt Compilation, showing the vocal minority of negativity and bitterness, only to suddenly shift the _overwhelming _*_pure joy_* as *literally everyone else* just explodes into hysterical screaming and cheering is the best portrayal of how this happened. In the end, the negativity got so completely outweighed by how incredibly overjoyed people were that it almost mirrors the main theme of KH in a way, with the light shining through the darkness.

@@CarlosThadeu I was sad, cause I just wanted somebody I know atleast in the game, but around November I got Kingdom Hearts on Ps4 and play the hell out of it cause it was fun as hell and have Nostalgic vibes, I wanted to give a proper review on Sora's Trailer and enjoyed it. So damn smash bros got me into another game, and I ain't mad about it, now I got a Sora Figure and a Keyblade in my room 😂
The Sora reveal was very impactful for me, because growing up with just me and my older brother before he passed away, he always let me play video games and watch anime with him. 3 games that he loved to play were DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Smash, and Kingdom Hearts. He was really passionate about KH for as long as I can remember, and I would sit there amd watch him play for hours on end on the ps2 (at least a think it was ps2, it coulda been ps3, I was little so I can't fully remember) and he even had a Sora hoodie that he only wore while playing, it had Donald and Goofy on it too. So when I saw the keyblade come on screen, all of the past memories with my brother just flooded me all at once and I broke down. So congragulations to Sora and thank you Mr. Sakurai. r.i.p Matt this one's for you 💜

I've been a Kingdom Hearts fan since 2004 at the age of 7, my Mother bought it for all of us siblings (5 of us brothers and 2 sisters) and it has been the most defining work of art for my whole family. I know I'm just another stranger on The Internet but I wanted to let you know that you're not alone, KH has impacted my life in significant ways that a single YT comment couldn't cover. Condolences. Your brother must’ve been a cool dude with his awesome taste in anime and video games. I was 15 when Kingdom Hearts first debuted in the US. Was curious over who this spiky-haired kid was paired with Donald and Goofy those years ago, gave it a play, and I was hooked since. Played every installment to date that released in the US and the lore really got intriguing from there with each Disney world.

Byleth: The scenery Min Min: Captain Falcon and Kirby eating Ramen Steve: Mario breaking into the Cave and the sound of the Mobs. I may not like Kingdom Hearts and Sora but I’m very grateful they added him in for one reason…. It made people… happy. How can someone say, even with characters in the game they don’t like, that this game isn’t anything but spectacular? It’s called “Ultimate” for a reason. It bought together more IPs then you could possibly imagine. Answer me this…. If they announce a new Smash game later down the road, what are the odds they can EVER use “EVERYONE IS HERE!” Again? Yes I love some characters in the game and I hate some characters in the game… but that does not make me lose respect for a game that bought a TON of IPs together and made people cry happy tears. Bless your heart, see what I did there?, because you are one of the few people that understood Sakurai’s message of everyone is here that it wasn’t just about the main roster, but everything else too. It was all a celebration to gaming. I honestly felt the same with Hero, Byleth, and Steve, but after seeing how happy even they made people, it really made me appreciate the game’s purpose even more.
This is true. I can only imagine what lengths Sakurai and Nintendo had to go through when they began to add fighters from other IPs starting with Brawl with Snake then later Cloud, Bayonetta, Banjo and Kazooie (That reveal still shocks me how they managed to get Microsoft to let those two into Smash.) and all the rest. If another Smash game gets made down the road, we don't know if Sakurai will still oversee the development or pass things off to his successor and regardless of who is leading the project, we don't know if they can get some of these characters back (It may be a one time only deal.) or if they are willing to dish out the cash or endure the legal headaches to bring them back.

My favorite detail about the reveal was the Keyblade being in the Smash logo. It had been there all along, ever since that first trailer. Sora won the Smash ballot before Ultimate was even a thing, so knowing he had been there waiting since day 1 is amazing. #ThankYouSakurai and his team!

Pretty sure everyone (myself included, who rented KH from Blockbuster and had to pay overdraft fees) were hyped for this. Even the people who were not, actually were. It’s genuinely the perfect send off to the entire series.

For me, “Hikari” is arguably the best piece of video game music ever recorded. I’ve still never even finished the first Kingdom Hearts but watching reactions to this and to the Kingdom Hearts III reveal both made me so emotional and that song just is the perfect compliment to seeing everyone’s joy.
The entire soundtrack is amazing. Dearly Beloved gets me in my feels every time I hear it. And hearing the orchestral theme in the Smash reveal had me immediately tearing up. 🥺

You should finish the first game, 1, 358/2 and birth by sleep are the only great kingdom hearts games, the beggining of 2 is good as well and the last bits of recoded, but in all honesty everything else I have played felt like a complete waste of my time. It seems like the story is being made as time goes on with no definitive end goal so it is a whole mess.
I hope Sakurai sees this! Yes, there are some people who are unhappy with the pick, which is inevitable. But for the most part, Sora’s reception has been overwhelmingly positive. #ThankyouSakurai

What really makes me emotional is that this was Iwata's last mission for Sakurai. I bet he's proud of what Smash Bros has become and how it brought so many different people together. I don't think we could ever thank Sakurai for his work enough

This whole compilation encapsulates not just the streamers, but their chats, a combined multitude of people who lost their collective minds over one of the most Dearly Beloved characters in gaming history coming to Smash Ultimate. For a solid 3 hours I held back tears and was hype with everyone here; I was in Hbox's chat during the livestream, I fell to stunned silence when Mickey's symbol appeared at the end of the Keyblade and stayed that way through the whole first trailer. Seeing over 150 streamers plus their chats popping off, screaming, crying, and cheering for their most wanted pick hit me. Thank you.
That first bit with all the hate thrown towards Sakurai and swordfighters is something I'm not going to miss. There's nothing wrong with swords, and Sakurai & the Smash Team worked so hard to make the most amazing and special game in history. It sucks that they had to put up with so many ungrateful and whiny "fans". I'm thankful that we have over this three hour video of people being happy. I know for a fact everyone who has played Kingdom Hearts cried when Sora came out & the orchestral version of Simple & Clean played. It brought those of us who played the original almost 20 years ago back to a simpler time.
I know I did when I saw the video after the premiere and while I was watching the Final Smash trailer reveal, my little sister had on Disney+ to watch Big City Greens, and I went crazy when I saw the Mickey Mouse charm.
I'm impressed that a couple of the people figured out it was Sora just by the animation of Mario's trophy stand disappearing. I've been a KH fan for almost 20 years and I didn't even catch that when I saw it!

I only know Kingdom Hearts through multiple people talking about it through my life despite not owning a Playstation or Xbox ever. I get it Disney is apart of a majority of everyones childhood. Though as the years go on Disney's scummy side is becoming more and more obvious. Monopolization of other big properties and ruining them. I liked them during their early years when they were making mickey mouse cartoons and animated movies but now they are relying on buying other peoples stuff and companies to get easy money. They no longer create but take to get money from other people work.

I don't have twitter so I was totally clueless that Sora got leaked, so I went into the reveal totally blind just praying that it was Sora. The second Mario stepped off the base though I knew it was Sora. Those light particle effects are VERY Kingdom Heartsy. Finally after voting for him half a decade ago for the Smash Polls, my #1 wish got in the game to cap it all off.

So this video appeared on my recommend list and figured "sure, why not" and clicked it. I remember my reaction to Sora being revealed was mostly a lot of laughing because I wasn't even expecting or hoping for Sora to be in Smash, and yet the most impossible outcomes came true. But watching this like... put me in a really contemplative state seeing the constant waves of a shared unbridled joy. It made me think about times I've had retrospective talks with friends about Kingdom Hearts, and how out of any game series we'd grown up playing, Kingdom Hearts is the one where it like... made us feel safe. It's really difficult to explain, but it had this weird augmented feeling of nostalgia. You were seeing Disney and Final Fantasy characters that you liked as a kid but really could only consume one-sidedly as entertainment. But because it centers around playing a character who isn't part of those worlds, the interactions Sora has with those Disney and FF characters expressing care for his well being was just REALLY different for games at that time. Like of course in realty you could never have the experience of a cartoon character who cares about you cause... they're not real lmao. But because you have agency in what Sora does in that game, it's like getting that experience through him. Despite Kingdom Hearts being fiction and just having the most wildly bananas story and lore, the sincerity in those games felt real. It was comforting and safe. And I have to imagine all these people losing their minds over Sora's reveal probably share those similar kinds of feelings. They're happy to see him because of the feelings of love and warmth that surround him. He inspires bravery and him being there just feels like... well then, I guess anything truly is possible.
I’ve never play KH, but I cried with everyone that witnessed this trailer because I knew how badly they all wanted him… It was a magical and beautiful thing to witness and experience, and even now, when I get nostalgic and rewatch the reveal trailers for Smash, Sora’s always hits home.
They said it was impossible.. they said it would never come to pass.. God bless you Sakurai, Nintendo, and Disney for making this happen. We will forever be grateful ❤
Say what you want about Sora's inclusion as the final character, but it's undebatable that no one else could produce a finale like this. The fact I can still watch his reveal after watching it countless times through other reactions and STILL tear up at just how perfect it is cinematically speaks volumes. As much as I would've liked someone like Hat Kid, Euden, or Eggman, I deadass think none of them or anyone else could have a trailer with that much impact for a finale like Sora's did.
This, this is why I was happy ever single time a character was announced. Because no matter who the character was someone reacted like this and that makes me so happy. And the fact that the final character did this for SO many people across the world. Literally made me cry twice. I may not personally care about Sora or have any attachment to Kingdom Hearts but I cannot think of a single character that would've been a better fit for the final character. #ThankYouSakurai
True! I didn’t know Tekken, and I was happy seeing Kazuya in Smash because we have another fighting game rep. Just seeing iconic fighting game characters in Smash makes me happy for some reason. (Even though I’m not into fighting games.)
People mad about it being Sora has no sense of magnitude or appreciation that the game isn't exclusively made for (them) a certain demographic, its made by Sakurai and Sora Ltd for Everyone and a majority of fans wanted Sora. Even with how limited he is, to get permission from both square and Disney and the minefield they had to navigate to make this possible.
Now that you think about it, in my opinion, these reactors shows a resemblance to the personalities of the Keyblade Wielders on Kingdom Hearts when seeing Sora's in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Destiny Trio (Sora, Riku, and Kairi) - To the reactors who always believe in the end. Seasalt Trio (Roxas, Axel, Xion) - To the people who are underrated and non-reactors that will always believe in the end. Wayfinder Trio (Terra, Ventus, Aqua) - To the reactors that lost the way, but has found hope in the end. And the haters, along with the so wanna-be edgelords act like Vanitas.
I was definitely one of the one who lost their way. For months/years, reveal after reveal, I started losing hope. Sora guided me back to the light though. And I couldn't have been happier to be wrong.
I don't even care about Sora, but this trailer was just a masterclass from Sakurai. Smash is ending, the toys have to go back in the box, but nope, it's Sora here to remind us to never give up on what we love. I saw grown adults cry over this, and I may have been one of them. .
The first Kingdom Hearts game that I EVER played is Dream Drop Distance demo. So for the KH games coming to the Nintendo Switch through cloud gaming feature, it is something that I waited and believe that it will come. I only got a taste of what I’m about to experience, so I’m very excited once it launches. And seeing these reactions fills me with joy and hype. What a way to end the series. I'm just gonna say this right now as a massive fan of the franchise, KH1 may be a little janky, control-wise, but the atmosphere and wonder you'll get in exchange balances the first game amazingly, opening it up to the drastic improvements in the future titles. (You might have your head spin at Chain of Memories though XD)

Thank you for having me be a part of this. Kingdom Hearts and Super Smash Bros are two of my favorite video game franchises of all time. Sora has been my childhood hero ever since I played the very first game. Ever since, I've been following his journey throughout the entire series, going through so many worlds and saving so many people. For years, I believed that Sora would be able to get in Smash, however as time went on, the dream was thought to be long gone, until October 5th 2021. The dream came true for so many fans of Smash and Kingdom Hearts alike, and I can't wait to play as Sora when he comes out. Satoru Iwata would've been proud of this. Etika is smiling up in heaven right now too. May their souls rest in peace. I'd like to personally thank the entire Smash Community, Kingdom Hearts Community, Nintendo, Sora Limited, the development team, and most of all, Masahiro Sakurai himself, for the most ambitious and unforgettable crossover game in video game history. This deserves far more views, it perfectly captured EVERYTHING around how fans felt about Sora coming to smash and that reveal, seeing him fly through the sky to the Simple and Clean Orchestrated. That was a fuckin mood and Sakurai and Nintendo are boss asf for pulling this off.

To think all those years ago, I was playing Super Smash Flash 2, thinking that was how close Sora was going to get in the game, non-officially licensed by Nintendo. Here I stand, seeing the impossible become possible. Thanks Sakurai!

I do not know Sora very well and almost fell into the same trend of hating them without playing the games. All of these reactions have really made me see more behind this unstoppable chanting of his name. I hope to one day play the Kingdom games. Even if I do or don't I can and always will appreciate who they are to so many people.

I love that you even post clips of some folks complaining they didn't get they want or it's a repetitive fighter, because it's the most hardest pill to swallow: You can't always get what you want, it's life But I'm glad there are so many people including myself are just happy and excited Sora became the last fighter in Smash. Some folks may think it isn't the best, but everyone agreed it's still a very good send off/finale.
He’s been getting characters exclusively for the series for years. I don’t think Disney has any control or wants to be in control of whatever video game he decides to create
Never touched Kingdom Hearts, was never even remotely interested in it until now. Super happy for everyone who wanted this, though. This series is precious to millions.
All it took was one 14 year old force of light and hope, the thousands of cries in the air calling to him, and one man with the ambition and determination to do whatever it took, to answer those calls and bring his light home.

I was never a fan of Kingdom Hearts, but just the fact how Sakurai and Nintendo went through copyright hell and back to make so many fans happy is enough for me to celebrate this as the big finale of Smash Ultimate.
And the fact that it came out after one year that Disney fell into despair for all the bad corporate decisions, like the MulanBoycott, I guess we deserved that one.

Sakurai is legendary and will go down as one of the most legendary creators to those who believed in all their hearts that Sora would sit among the legends of gaming and take his rightful place with Mario, Sonic, Pikachu, Mr. Game and Watch, DK, Link, and Pac-Man.
@@robbiewalker2831 in regards to video games, Disney has been pretty lenient. I don’t know why, but at the very least KH is their most profitable venture regarding video games. Considering how much freedom Nomura has with his series (and yeah, he has freedom. There’s no way half the stuff he does would have happened if not for freedom), I’m honestly confused sora hadn’t come sooner. Unless Sakurai was holding off (understandably).

@@Lightningstrike1220 Actually, Sora IS pretty anime because what is considered japanese anime features were heavily inspired by Disney cartoons, and since a lot of classic Disney-inspired character design details were added to Sora's design, it wouldn't be wrong to refer to him as an anime or at least an animesque character.

@@rotciv557 that actually makes no sense, his main costume (shown in kh1/ ssbu) is COMPLETELY inspired by mickey mouse's classic outfit then evolved into something more than that. disney never really had any anime influence since it was all american; disney as its own brand decimates anime (as far as i know) in japan or at least rivals with it. just because japanese niggas helped make the character doesn't make it an anime character, maybe japanese art influence like big hero 6 but not anime.
Im only sad Etika isn't with us to enjoy Sephiroth and Sora together. The Ultimate dream coming true. He probably popped up so hard wherever he watched this from

I love the symbolism in this trailer. Mario reaching out to the fire is the risk that Nintendo took when they entered the legal battle to get Sora into the game, and Sora arriving shows him reigniting their hearts and returning the light.
I wish I had recorded my wife's reaction. She's just as much a kingdom hearts fan as you can get, and she was asleep when the announcement came out. I was at work so I sent her a text that said "This looks like a great place to find some ingredients" and she lost her mind. She's still excited about it even now. Sora's like the only character she really wanted in Smash.
Same boat here, man! Mine was at work listening to the presentation, and I know exactly when she found out because all of a sudden I got *all* of the text spamming. She later told me her boss saw her crying snd asked if everything was okay. She responded, "it's complicated" and just left it at that.

I was in class when I saw the announcement and I was just in shock and my jaw dropped when I saw the Mickey symbol.
Sora was literally the most requested character on the planet, and that's something that the haters can never change.
I remember first hating on him getting in when i wanted crash bandicoot. Thankfully im grateful now

Honestly, starting this off with the Salt Compilation, showing the vocal minority of negativity and bitterness, only to suddenly shift the _overwhelming _*_pure joy_* as *literally everyone else* just explodes into hysterical screaming and cheering is the best portrayal of how this happened. In the end, the negativity got so completely outweighed by how incredibly overjoyed people were that it almost mirrors the main theme of KH in a way, with the light shining through the darkness.

So damn smash bros got me into another game, and I ain't mad about it, now I got a Sora Figure and a Keyblade in my room 😂

The Sora reveal was very impactful for me, because growing up with just me and my older brother before he passed away, he always let me play video games and watch anime with him. 3 games that he loved to play were DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Smash, and Kingdom Hearts. He was really passionate about KH for as long as I can remember, and I would sit there amd watch him play for hours on end on the ps2 (at least a think it was ps2, it coulda been ps3, I was little so I can't fully remember) and he even had a Sora hoodie that he only wore while playing, it had Donald and Goofy on it too. So when I saw the keyblade come on screen, all of the past memories with my brother just flooded me all at once and I broke down. So congragulations to Sora and thank you Mr. Sakurai.

Condolences. Your brother must’ve been a cool dude with his awesome taste in anime and video games. I was 15 when Kingdom Hearts first debuted in the US. Was curious over who this spiky-haired kid was paired with Donald and Goofy those years ago, gave it a play, and I was hooked since. Played every installment to date that released in the US and the lore really got intriguing from there with each Disney world.

Bless your heart, see what I did there?, because you are one of the few people that understood Sakurai’s message of everyone is here that it wasn’t just about the main roster, but everything else too. It was all a celebration to gaming. I honestly felt the same with Hero, Byleth, and Steve, but after seeing how happy even they made people, it really made me appreciate the game’s purpose even more.

This is true. I can only imagine what lengths Sakurai and Nintendo had to go through when they began to add fighters from other IPs starting with Brawl with Snake then later Cloud, Bayonetta, Banjo and Kazooie (That reveal still shocks me how they managed to get Microsoft to let those two into Smash.) and all the rest. If another Smash game gets made down the road, we don't know if Sakurai will still oversee the development or pass things off to his successor and regardless of who is leading the project, we don't know if they can get some of these characters back (It may be a one time only deal.) or if they are willing to dish out the cash or endure the legal headaches to bring them back.

My favorite detail about the reveal was the Keyblade being in the Smash logo. It had been there all along, ever since that first trailer. Sora won the Smash ballot before Ultimate was even a thing, so knowing he had been there waiting since day 1 is amazing.

For me, “Hikari” is arguably the best piece of video game music ever recorded. I’ve still never even finished the first Kingdom Hearts but watching reactions to this and to the Kingdom Hearts III reveal both made me so emotional and that song just is the perfect compliment to seeing everyone’s joy.
The entire soundtrack is amazing. Dearly Beloved gets me in my feels every time I hear it. And hearing the orchestral theme in the Smash reveal had me immediately tearing up. 🥺

You should finish the first game, 1, 358/2 and birth by sleep are the only great kingdom hearts games, the beggining of 2 is good as well and the last bits of recoded, but in all honesty everything else I have played felt like a complete waste of my time. It seems like the story is being made as time goes on with no definitive end goal so it is a whole mess.
Play them all, they're all pretty solid. The future of the series is also taking a very interesting turn.

We dont deserve you, Ragged Knowledge. This whole compilation encapsulates not just the streamers, but their chats, a combined multitude of people who lost their collective minds over one of the most Dearly Beloved characters in gaming history coming to Smash Ultimate. For a solid 3 hours I held back tears and was hype with everyone here; I was in Hbox's chat during the livestream, I fell to stunned silence when Mickey's symbol appeared at the end of the Keyblade and stayed that way through the whole first trailer. Seeing over 150 streamers plus their chats popping off, screaming, crying, and cheering for their most wanted pick hit me. Thank you.

This is so symbolic cause in Kh it is mentioned time and again how Sora has touched so many hearts and this video is just a perfect representation of how Sora had touched all of our hearts and I am so glad that everyone that was a part of this was happy one way or the other he made it. I don't have twitter so I was totally clueless that Sora got leaked, so I went into the reveal totally blind just praying that it was Sora. The second Mario stepped off the base though I knew it was Sora. Those light particle effects are VERY Kingdom Heartsy. Finally after voting for him half a decade ago for the Smash Polls, my #1 wish got in the game to cap it all off.

So this video appeared on my recommend list and figured "sure, why not" and clicked it. I remember my reaction to Sora being revealed was mostly a lot of laughing because I wasn't even expecting or hoping for Sora to be in Smash, and yet the most impossible outcomes came true.
But watching this like... put me in a really contemplative state seeing the constant waves of a shared unbridled joy. It made me think about times I've had retrospective talks with friends about Kingdom Hearts, and how out of any game series we'd grown up playing, Kingdom Hearts is the one where it like... made us feel safe. It's really difficult to explain, but it had this weird augmented feeling of nostalgia. You were seeing Disney and Final Fantasy characters that you liked as a kid but really could only consume one-sidedly as entertainment.
But because it centers around playing a character who isn't part of those worlds, the interactions Sora has with those Disney and FF characters expressing care for his well being was just REALLY different for games at that time. Like of course in realty you could never have the experience of a cartoon character who cares about you cause... they're not real lmao. But because you have agency in what Sora does in that game, it's like getting that experience through him.
Despite Kingdom Hearts being fiction and just having the most wildly bananas story and lore, the sincerity in those games felt real. It was comforting and safe. And I have to imagine all these people losing their minds over Sora's reveal probably share those similar kinds of feelings. They're happy to see him because of the feelings of love and warmth that surround him. He inspires bravery and him being there just feels like... well then, I guess anything truly is possible.
I’ve never play KH, but I cried with everyone that witnessed this trailer because I knew how badly they all wanted him…
It was a magical and beautiful thing to witness and experience, and even now, when I get nostalgic and rewatch the reveal trailers for Smash, Sora’s always hits home.

Say what you want about Sora's inclusion as the final character, but it's undebatable that no one else could produce a finale like this. The fact I can still watch his reveal after watching it countless times through other reactions and STILL tear up at just how perfect it is cinematically speaks volumes. As much as I would've liked someone like Hat Kid, Euden, or Eggman, I deadass think none of them or anyone else could have a trailer with that much impact for a finale like Sora's did.

People mad about it being Sora has no sense of magnitude or appreciation that the game isn't exclusively made for (them) a certain demographic, its made by Sakurai and Sora Ltd for Everyone and a majority of fans wanted Sora. Even with how limited he is, to get permission from both square and Disney and the minefield they had to navigate to make this possible.

Now that you think about it, in my opinion, these reactors shows a resemblance to the personalities of the Keyblade Wielders on Kingdom Hearts when seeing Sora's in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

I was definitely one of the one who lost their way. For months/years, reveal after reveal, I started losing hope. Sora guided me back to the light though. And I couldn't have been happier to be wrong.
Vanitas might be on the dark side but he is one of my fav characters. He is just so badass.
I don't even care about Sora, but this trailer was just a masterclass from Sakurai.
Smash is ending, the toys have to go back in the box, but nope, it's Sora here to remind us to never give up on what we love.

The first Kingdom Hearts game that I EVER played is Dream Drop Distance demo. So for the KH games coming to the Nintendo Switch through cloud gaming feature, it is something that I waited and believe that it will come. I only got a taste of what I’m about to experience, so I’m very excited once it launches. And seeing these reactions fills me with joy and hype. What a way to end the series. Thank you Sakurai, and everyone that have worked on this game. See y’all in Online, people.

I'm just gonna say this right now as a massive fan of the franchise, KH1 may be a little janky, control-wise, but the atmosphere and wonder you'll get in exchange balances the first game amazingly, opening it up to the drastic improvements in the future titles. (You might have your head spin at Chain of Memories though XD)

Kingdom Hearts and Super Smash Bros are two of my favorite video game franchises of all time.
Sora has been my childhood hero ever since I played the very first game. Ever since, I've been following his journey throughout the entire series, going through so many worlds and saving so many people.
For years, I believed that Sora would be able to get in Smash, however as time went on, the dream was thought to be long gone, until October 5th 2021.
The dream came true for so many fans of Smash and Kingdom Hearts alike, and I can't wait to play as Sora when he comes out.
Satoru Iwata would've been proud of this. Etika is smiling up in heaven right now too. May their souls rest in peace.
I'd like to personally thank the entire Smash Community, Kingdom Hearts Community, Nintendo, Sora Limited, the development team, and most of all, Masahiro Sakurai himself, for the most ambitious and unforgettable crossover game in video game history.
Don't be sad that it ended. Be happy that it happened.

I do not know Sora very well and almost fell into the same trend of hating them without playing the games. All of these reactions have really made me see more behind this unstoppable chanting of his name. I hope to one day play the Kingdom games. Even if I do or don't I can and always will appreciate who they are to so many people.

Imagine Square Enix collaborated with Nintendo instead of Disney:

- jiminy replaced by Olimar or maybe Navi from Zelda
- Rosalina and her observatory replace Yen Sid and his tower
- Bowser replaces Maleficent (he even turns into giga bowser like how she turns into a dragon)

- Kid Icarus replaces the Colosseum from Hercules; Sora and Pit would be very close like he was with Hercules; Hades replaces…Hades
- Terra plays literal mariokart when he visits “Toad Town” instead of Disney town
- The many Anna sisters from the fire emblem series would be seen running shops with the moogles
- the key chain part of the kingdom key would feature a star instead of mickey's symbol
- Kirby and dream land would replace winny the pooh
- tom nook from animal crossing replaces scrooge mcduck
- instead of a steamboat willy world, their would be a stylized world of paper sora visiting paper mario (who is silent just like classic mickey was)
- gummi ship sections would be more like starfox, and luigi and toad would have their own ships and you'd have to save them from attacking enemies now and then
- there could be an added sequence where, in the gummi ship, you team up with starfox to fight starwolf
- zelda: skyward sword would be a world in birth by sleep; ocarina of time would be a world in KH1; twilight princess would be a world in KH2; breath of the wild would be a world in KH3
- 7 princesses of heart: peach; zelda (in each period); lissa (from fire emblem: awakening); cream the rabbit (from sonic); kairi; palutena; and for a twist, samus
- Darkrai from pokemon would be the extra hard hidden boss fight in dream drop distance in place of julius

I love that you even post clips of some folks complaining they didn't get they want or it's a repetitive fighter, because it's the most hardest pill to swallow: You can't always get what you want, it's life
But I'm glad there are so many people including myself are just happy and excited Sora became the last fighter in Smash. Some folks may think it isn't the best, but everyone agreed it's still a very good send off/finale.

The day I learned that “Dreams never die!”
All it took was one 14 year old force of light and hope, the thousands of cries in the air calling to him, and one man with the ambition and determination to do whatever it took, to answer those calls and bring his light home.
The crys heard from around the world. Whether it be tears of joy or crys of excitement and hype, a lot of people wanted this character and the never let the flame die. Even if that flame dwindled over time
