जम्मू कश्मीर चुनावों का जब ऐलान हुआ, तब हर किसी के मन में डर था कि पता नहीं कहां आतंकी वारदात हो जाएगी. पता नहीं कहां बमों और गोलियों की गूंज सुनाई देगी. तीनों चरण पूरे हो चुके हैं और ना तो कहीं बम चले ना ही गोली. सुरक्षाबलों की मुस्तैदी ऐसी कि आतंकियों की भी एक ना चली. सुरक्षित माहौल में भारी तादाद में लोग घरों से निकले और तीनों चरणों में बंपर मतदान किया. ऐसा मतदान जम्मू कश्मीर के इतिहास में कभी नहीं हुआ, ना कहीं पत्थर चले और ना ही चुनाव बहिष्कार की कोई ख़बर ही सामने आई. जम्मू कश्मीर में बदले हालात और जीती जम्हूरियत.

All three phases have been completed and neither bombs nor bullets were fired anywhere. The alertness of the security forces was such that even the terrorists could not succeed. In a safe environment, a large number of people came out of their homes and voted in large numbers in all three phases. Such voting has never happened in the history of Jammu Kashmir, neither stones were pelted anywhere nor was there any news of election boycott. The situation changed in Jammu Kashmir and democracy won.
