    Thanks for the great video, I'm shocked that I haven't been able to find an answer to whether the plate holes need to be tapped and glue to mount the bindings??? Or just place bindings and simply install screws?

      No need to fill or plug unused holes on race plates!

    Jim could you do a video discussing when and why you would shim the toe or heal? I understand that it's for fore and aft balance, but what are the signs that I would need to shim the toe or heal? There's not much information on this out there.

    If you need the toe 2 mm higher, why don't just use one plate under the toe and none under the heel?

    Jim, what do you think is the best solution for cross-threaded holes? like with Fischer/tyrolia race plates... their holes are all plastic and cross-threading is common... unfortunately... thanks

    Jim, I have the same question as Ryan Moses above. Genenerally what determines shim toe or heal ? I understand the range is between 1 & 3 degrees.
    I’ve read toe 1mm higher than heel for tip pressure improvement. There just is not much information on this subject. Appreciate your help.

      Ramp angle = balance and power transfer. Gas pedal (toe high, power forward) or heel high (power off the toe) will be dependent on the particular skier and the coach. Also, keep in mind, a stock plate and binding does not always equal "level" or neutral, so it may just be a corrective move to actually achieve neutral. Its a DEEP rabbit hole!

      Jim, many thanks for your reply! You really gave me a better understanding of my coach’s recommendation.

    I picked up a pair of used 2016 Blizzard WRC’s this fall with a plate and Marker Xcell Race 12. They need a bit of adjustment to match my bsl - is there a best practice on how to do this? I know if I screw the forward pressure screw it moves the heel piece forward, but I’m gathering this isn’t the right way to do it. That said, I can’t find anything online to assist me

      Each model of binding will have install specs- sounds like you want to remount those bindings to the correct BSL range (there should be stamps or markings indicating this on the plate).

    I was under the impression that those forward pressure screws should only be move with the boot out and never with it in as it can cause damage to the worm screw.
    Can you shed some light on that? Maybe those have a stronger worm system than some others?

    • @caribouwho
      @caribouwho 3 года назад

      If forward pressure is less than correct value there is usually very little torque required to turn the screw so chance of damage is negligible.

      @@caribouwho I'm still going to follow instructions. Thanks. It just scares me. That said I respect Jim. He knows his stuff.
