I have been saying the same for a while. Ez choice. Rice gets 1-2 games a week at C, and 1 game a week at 1B, he gets a shot at 150-200 AB's at the big league level.
this is interesting maybe it will be Alex Jackson the catcher we got from the reds in that trade for Cruz. or the Yankees could look at the FA market or another trade or perhaps go internally in the minor leagues and get a kid to backup wells.
JC Escara also played 6 games in corner outfield and 19 games at third base...But hits left handed like Wells....Might give Rice the advantage when they sit Wells...My guess is both will be up and down to Scranton to get playing time. They may get a catcher in a Stroman trade...
Hey Jason, my bet is that Rice is gonna be the backup. If the Yankees were looking for a trade, the Diamondbacks have a good catcher who has no path to the major leagues, Adrian Del Castillo. He is a left-handed batter with some pop. He had a cup of coffee with Arizona last season, but I was impressed with his power. On a different note I was reading a Sporting News article that I thought was interesting with a trade proposal between the Yankees and the Cardinals. Yankees receive: right-handed pitcher Ryan Helsley and right handed pitcher: Miles Nikolas Cardinals receive: right-handed pitcher Marcus Stroman and right-handed pitcher Chase Hampton. What do you think??
@161riverave.4 Jason, I would like to review the financials, but a Hesley acquisition is something that I have wanted for 2 years now. It would give the Yankees the dominated 3 headed monster to close games out. We essentially shorten games to 6 innings. Starters wouldn't have to throw deep into games. On the surface, I like it.
Jason hope you and your family jad a good Christmas do you see the Yankees making any moves and if so who do you see them getting thanks my friend happy new year
The Giants chose to prioritize their pride which is respectable honestly, but they most likely blew their shot at the #1 pick by putting up their absolute best performance of this season today vs the Colts. Their season ending matchup against Philadelphia will be must-see 📺 since it will determine whether or not Saquan Barkley will be able to break the single season rushing yards record that Eric Dickerson set 40 or so years ago. He's already in elite company after the game against Dallas today to become one of only 9 players to ever get 2000 yards rushing in a single season, Philadelphia will have to balance the importance of the record vs maintaining him for their upcoming playoff games.
He’s already shown stretches of being much better with great pop and defense. Let’s not rush to any judgements based on 1 year of splitting time w/ Trevvy
Simple answer… Ben Rice… who can also backup first base. By Rice backing up both, opens another bench spot on the roster.

Ben Rice. If needed, can.give relief at first base as well.

I think Ben rice both C or 1B ?

That’s an interesting trade!

NY is the clear winner in this hypothetical trade.
JC ESCARRA is good to be back up 2:00
We have ben rice
You don't get a big bat for backup catcher... those don't stay backups for very long. Glove first guys are often the backups.
Jason hope you and your family jad a good Christmas do you see the Yankees making any moves and if so who do you see them getting thanks my friend happy new year
Ben Rice why not!
Ben Rice C & 1b
Can Play 2-3 times a week
How good is ben rice at catching?
The great Alex Jackson. Excellent framer. He must have framed Kevin Cash to have his job as long as he did.
What’s Jesus Montero doing? 😂😂😂
haahahahaha
man that kid had a high ceiling his career just spiraled down when we he went to Seattle
Enjoy your background. Happy kids.
I would like Escarra to get a look. Rice needs to hit more!

Diaz would be great but giving Escarra a shot would be ok
Rice. Escarra. Jackson. Maybe someone not yet in the organization.
James McCann
Check on rick cerrone
Get O'Hoppe
The problem is that Wells hits only 200.
.229 as a rookie with only up to go….

@enriq...check your facts before you make a false statement
We should have gotten Gary Sanchez
Yankees had Sanchez and it didn’t work out
…and he throws wiffle balls to 2nd base
😂😂😂
Gary .150 Sanchez?
my Lions face SF tomorrow tough game but i feel we'll pull it out
