- Hi everyone! After my last video explaining how to do massive bunnyhops I have had requests to do a tutorial on how to Bunnyhop 180.
I've got to thank everyone for all the kind comments too, you lot rock!
I decided to not just show you how to 180 but to see if I could do a World Record beating one too. I'm happy to say I managed it and beat it by 15cm! Where's Guinness when you need them!
I skip a lot of details on how to do the basic parts of a bunnyhop, if you'd like to see those explained please see my bunnyhop tutoial here: • How To Do MASSIVE Bunn...
Let me know if this helps you, also let me (or anyone reading in the comments) know if I've missed anything out, we can all help each other.

Did you guys enjoy this? Let me know in the comments :)
hi is it possible you can make a video on how to rear wheel hop?
Thank you
Hi Ali! I've been watching your vlogs for a while and I really like them! They inspired me to get a trials bike. Thanks!
Just got my new Inspired Arcade yesterday! Red and nice! Wiiee!! Pretty rookie trials rider but I'm looking forward to watch more of your videos, have learned alot from them! Of course your videos make me look like an idiot when I'm riding but I have fun though ;) thanks again, keep doing what you are doing! / nick (Sweden)
These are great tutorials Ali!
Just wondering why if you know that you can beat the world record you don’t get it officially recorded and get a nice certificate?
Shout louder
I couldn't find a video of the current world record so I cannot argue really. What you have to know. The Guinness committee is pretty picky and yours isn't a full 180°, so they'd probably not count it.
Yeah. I saw that after my comment. Rick is the world bunny hop champion. You should step up your game and put some effort in your bunny hops. 1.30m is pathetic! :P
Ali Clarkson just out of interest can you side hop higher than you can bunny hop Ali?
Not with a trials bike. He bunny hops 130cm and even on a pure trials bike, this is a considerable sidehop (not counting Mr. Damon Watson who sidehops onto 155cm.).
I watched this yesterday and I just picked up my bike from the shop. I went to 180 but I looked where I wanted to go ( behind me) and 1st try nailed it. Thank you!✊🏼
Cheers for that Ali, could you also do a tutorial on 180 drop offs and Rockwall drop offs? seem to be struggling with these and how to get the front end to come round.
Can't wait to give this a go. Thanks for the tips.
Loving the how to videos ali! Glad to see your passing on your extensive trials knowledge onto up and coming like myself and many others!
Another great vid dude, I'd like to see a front hop tutorial next and don't doubt you are the man for the job.
Awesome tutorials Ali! The bunny hop tutorial actually improved my bunny hops a lot! Gotta try higher 180 hops now! And you should really try and get a world record certificate, it would be awesome! Cheers!!!
I agree the bunny hop tutorial was really useful. Before I watched the video I could bunny hop 1.5 feet. Now I can bunny hop over 2 feet!
You're too good Ali, you should defo give Guinness a bell and get the record :) it'd be great to see you doing a comparison between a hard tail and a trials bike, I only have a hard tail and cant get anywhere near the height you do - a lot of folks I know say it's impossible, especially on a 29'er but I'm fairly certain it's down to skill not necessarily the bike so would be good for someone with your skill to prove it. Keep up the vlogging pal!
Again a great tutorial! I watched many bunnyhop tutorials when I learned it by myself and I can say that you are by far one of the best guys on youtube when it comes to explaining the technique and supporting it with clips. Keep up the good work!
Massiv Ali! So inspiring. Thanks4that Video&keep posting
So glad your starting tutorials!! So sick to be able to learn from someone who's so good at it! Cannot wait to see what else you have in store
Yes! Working on these right now, definitely picked up some things to try to improve. Thanks Ali!
I can get around 180, but not with enough momentum to fakie out. I really just need to come in faster and commit more I think. One request for your tutorials, any chance you could show a flipped version of the video too? I ride left foot forward and its just a little easier to study people going the same way.
mate thats insane! you describe technique very well. you should remake tricks and stunts!
Another great tutorial Ali! Really love these! Absolutely the best 180 tutorial I've seen. I've been having so much trouble with these lately but your tip about looking at the bar has really helped! I also realized I need to turn my head a bit more as well. Now I just have to get better at riding fake and I'll be hitting it every time! Thanks so much and please keep these coming!
Oh and of course congrats on a new 'unofficial' world record!!!
Would love to see more how to's! Great for us old dudes who're trying to look cool on a bike! Keep up the good work!
Simply amazing Ali!!!!! I'm always looking forward to Friday's. Great job as always.
Great video Ali. Very informative and in depth! Looking forward to more tutorials possible! Could you please do one about up to backs with the correct technique? Cheers. Also, hate to complain but that red spacer under the stem looks really weird!
Ali Clarkson Yeah well I've noticed it a few times but I ended up just staring at it! Really shouldn't annoy me but it does. But then again, it is not my bike so I should shut up!
I’m also having trouble with up to backs. I can bunny hop up a ledge, but a can’t go to only the back wheel.
Dope!!!!!! I'm surprised this channel should doesn't have more subs and views.
Ali....Bars to the waist during the hop is where I mess up. Feels like I have to lean too far forward, or it feels like I'm just going to yank the bars up and loop out. That initial part of the bunnyhop, where you create all the torq and force is what could use more explanation. I'd even pay around $5-$8 US Fun Money for that information.
Great video as always Ali :) Step-by-step progress and easy to 'know how' to do.
Awesome tutorial Ali! You do a great job explaining techniques and also very thorough step by step. I think you just discovered a new skill you have and that is helping teach others how to progress their riding! I look forward to more tutorials. Maybe shed some light on pedal torque for different tricks and the proper time to use brakes whilst doing certain tricks ! Cheers Ali and thank you.
I've improved on my 180's after watching this.. just came back to let you know.. I used to do it with my back wheel like 2 inches off the ground.. now I can do it like wheel height on my bmx.. I know it doesn't sound like much.. but I am improving none the less.. If i go any higher I can't roll back..
Very usefull. It helped me a lot to progress on my BMX!
Hey, your how-to's are quite good--you should consider cranking out more of them. I'd watch 'em.
do how to 360 please, nice video as always:)
Still waiting:D
Not getting my hopes high but ..
Will there be a tutorial on manual? Really need it! Btw Awesome vid!

Awesome. Wish I had a trials bike now :( watching your videos makes it seem fun haha.
Please do 360's
great video as usual.
could you please make a totorial on how to manuel bunnyhop and bunnyhop manuel
Another good video :) Would it be an idea to make a video tutorial about hopping on the backwheel, or going to backwheel,is it useful, how to approach it, when/why to use? I see you often have these great moments when you just jump onto a wall to backwheel etc, how do you get your bike so high up? Is it similar to the bunny hop?
bro i love ur tutorials.. can u make a depth in this 180.. details pls.. just like the bunnyhop u made it teach me so much and learns me how to hop.. can u make more details in ur 180.. thanks man! godbless
Hi ali, love the videos, have really got me wanting to ride trials again 😁😁. is your bike 26 or 24"? I'm 33 years of age and it's been a few years since I have ridden trials! determined to get back into it even though I am awaiting cruciate ligament surgery on my knee! keep producing the great vids!!
Awesome as always. 🤙🏼 Also, why are you now not the 180 world record holder? 😃

thanks m8 iv just started on trials riding and need help😀😀 keep on riding👍👍👍
awesome! eventually you nailed this new world record ❤
Hey Ali
Wow! That's crazy! You're so good in slide and bunny hops and your riding style is amazing!
Is it important to spin right when the front feet is left?
Maybe you can answer!
Cheers!
Hi Ali, it's me again, on your next how to video please teach us how to pedal hop sensei. thanks again for your vids.
amazing tutorial again😅🤙🏼
Ali Clarkson can i ask you, im gonna start learning trial biking, was an mtb guy in my younger years, i love having such control over the bike, but how do i choose what bike and size is good for you?
street-trial or ful trial bike?( whats the pro &cons?) and how do you choose size? 20-24-26 inch ??
and yoi have bikes with a sadle very low, or one without sadle...?
thanks for a repy!
Great Tutorial again 😉
i love this tutorials..ali make some more :D :D :D
More tutorials please
Hey Ali,
Just found your channel. What's that bike you're riding? That's amazing. +1 sub.
I'm just now getting back on a BMX at 33 years old, I bought an old 20 inch to see if I'd like it, but I'm feeling a little awkward with it all honestly. After so long riding 1000cc sports bikes on the street, this thing feels pretty weird..... Is that a trials bike you're riding? Got any advice for me? Cheers from Australia
amazing 👍
Here before this channel blows up
Thanks a lot for your tutorials. I like your style on and off the bike :-) question: what are you thinking is the best wheelsize for maximum high for a bunny hop? Would you probably jump higher on a bmx? Thanks for the answer and your interesting vlog! Cheers Manu
Hi Ali...thanks a lot! In fact i have planed to beat the current record in 180 bunny hop and i have send already the application to GWR. But my hight is about 1 Meter and i have no chance against you. I wish you good luck for the record attempt. Cheers Manu
Nice Tutorial
U are welcome
Great video! Could you do a tutorial on how to footjam tailwhip?
My last name is Mackenzie!
Cheers mate :-D
In before 1000 views! Great stuff, although I ride BMX!
same man, had a trials yeeeeeeears ago but this is making me want to get another one
Ali Clarkson I'm trying, just getting the funds together, I might try selling/ swapping my jump bike for one
how to do massive lateral bunny hop?
always the same steps? I just need to look where to land and lift the front wheel first?
thanks your tutorial are great!
If I'm standing still and I have an obstacle to my right side and I want to overcome it, how can I do it?
Hi Ali, I did everything you told in the video ( I ride bmx) but I can't get the rotation down. I got the endo 180s down but can't get the hop 180 rotation. I've been practicing 180 hops for almost a year now but can't seem to get it. I've been turning my head, carving, American hops, but I can't do it. I always land on 90 or less. I can fakie properly. Please help
Fancy Spacers😉😋
Ali Clarkson What happend yesterday at the Race in Fort William? I saw you quitting the race. Did the tire came off again?
Casually breaks world record
Hello. Thank you for awsome tutorial, but... I have a HUGE problem with doing a HOP 180... I just can't get my mind to do a Bunny Hop 180, I always do Hop 180s. I can't jump over an object (Bunny Hop bar). I think that I'm not turning my head, but when I go faster and I want to turn my head and do a BUNNY HOP 180, I just can't because I drag my rear wheel... I am fighting this problem for months now... I don't know how to fix it... Can you give me some advices?
Btw: I ride Bmx.
1doriyan1 I’d say keep practicing! Go slow in the begining, practice just turning (curve) and bunnyhopping, instead of trying to spin. That way the spin becomes more natural, and it’s easier to get height into it since the spin is just a result from the curve.
How on earth?? 😱😱😱
A 45 inch180 is 🔥🔥🔥. Well done!
I like it bro r u the dude on the GMB
Ali's getting so high he's gonna need an aviation license.
I wanna see 20 inch vs 24 / 26 / 27.5 / 29inch street trials - can you do trials on a 29 xc bike ? :)
haha brilliant!
I ride trials on a 27.5 XC bike
Damn. No tuck, exactly the same height as you got with the tuck :(.
OYE!
Great video. Bro i like you nohomo :D i thinking to buy trial bike
how do u 180 off a ledge or curb??.. the edge intimidates me and i cant commit to the spin.. i mean how do u turn your head back and jump off of something that could hurt you??.. any tips are appreciated..
God dam Ali!
Can you do a how to fakie?
👏👏👏👍
I love your channel :)
Maybe some background music would be great to create a better atmosphere ;)
Is it possible to learn this on a BMX?
😎
how do you mount yr head cam?
Can you do a video on how to revert? I can ride fakie for a ways, and I can 180, land it, and ride out a bit, but for the life of me I can't revert and finish the trick.
Ali Clarkson you are a boss.
It’s kinda simple and just takes practice. Roll backwards and turn a tiny bit. Then stop, and ride forward while turning a bit. Then do it a hundred times and try to get it smoother.
I some how managed to slip my chain and break my back mudguard :-D
I also managed to do it consistently (not very well or high) within an hour
👏👏👏👏👏
do you think you could 3 a metre?
Sorry if this has already been answered in another video, but what would you recommend for tire pressure for street trials in general?
Gavin Murphy
I've been riding trials and street for well over 14 years now and tell you that it all depends on the type of tire you're running and the type of Trials riding that you're doing.
So for Street trials where you're doing more BMX type moves, you would want to run a higher pressure somewhere above 30-40+ PSI so your tires don't fold over when you do 180s and 360s.
Likewise if you're doing more traditional trials where you're doing gaps and bunny hopping up things on to the edge, you would want to run slightly lower pressure so the tire collapses down and grips onto what you're hopping on.
Thank you! I'll mess around in the 30-40 range, and see what I end up on.
Gavin Murphy
If you're trying to ride like Ali or Danny then definitely a higher pressure is needed.
Notice in the video when he lands his huge 180 bunny hops that the tires stay perfectly still, that tells you that he's running closer to 50 or 60+ PSI in his tires to keep them that solid under pressure.
My tire got out of the rim once, I was learning 180s with like 20psi
Ali runs 45, Danny about 100.
Come to Ireland and coach me, I will pay ;-) haha
admin he doing it sideways
Sadly you were wrong , the highest bunnyhop record in the world is 1 meter and 43 centimeters or 4 ft 8.30 inches , which is mind blowing...
I think this is a record for a straight bunny hop, not a 180 one
oh , in that case it's 1.005 m (3 ft 5.34 in)
sorry for the conclusion
go for it Ali!
Sorry for the conclusion but after i searched for the 180 bunny hop and it was 1.05 m or 3 ft 5.34 inches so you definitely did it
and i hope that you get the certificate.
More How To's, you are the best🔥🤘
