  • In this Unpacked special as part of Working Title at RMIT Gallery, RMIT Photography Lecturer and Fine Arts Alumna Clare Rae chatted with us about her twenty-year career as a practicing artist and her photographic process. Rae journeys us through her early-career residency at Abbotsford Convent, expressing the female body through making and her parents’ influence on her practice.
Clare Rae is an Australian artist using photography, performance and architectural to explore the female experience. In her gestural and site-specific photographs, Rae explores the awkward subjectivity of the female body, particularly in relation to space and memory. Rae is represented in the collections of Artbank, The National Gallery of Victoria, Monash University and RMIT University, and is a founding member of LAST Collective.
