I love this model car, so much! I hope to get it one day. Thank you so much for posting this video and giving me a better idea of what it has to offer.
Great vid. I ordered the limited for the 2.5 and more bells and whistles... but I've watched all the videos on the Crosstrek and i learned a lot from yours.
I like the black door handles, most cars are moving away from that. I also hate giant touch screens in cars, so the base with the split screen is my only choice here!
From an owner of the Crosstrek base,if you like it get it,here are the positives. Very good price, peppy 2 liter engine (boxer like Porsche and Ferrari),heated seats, electronic eyes to assist you, quite suspension, 4wheel drive,a nice tank like suv, transmission is excellent has power option and you can feel it,previously I had another Subaru with the 2.5 liter engine the 2 liter seems a little more sporty.
I went from driving a Chevrolet Spark Hatchback to the base model Subaru. Amazing upgrade! After 2 weeks, I'm still learning. You can take the headrest out and turn around if you wear your hair in a ponytail or bun! Also late at night had to figure out that your foot needs to be on the brake pedal to release the parking brake 😂
Great review Kenny! For an entry level ride this is nice and especially good for a younger person that someone is trying to prevent driving too fast. Hoping that you are doing great!
A physical key is good. Not a fan of the all electronic push button start. The Touch Screen is a option that I would loose. I thought the Base Model was the only model that did not have a Touch Screen. It looks like I was wrong. Subaru if you are listening. Get rid of the Touch Screen Interface. Give me Physical Buttons. I do not want a Screen or Touch Screen in my Car. Give me simple reliable controls that do not change. Thank you.
Do you notice the Subaru camera in your line of sight? The car might be slow compared to todays faster cars, but really, compared to what we drove in the 70's and 80's with four bangers, it is a rocket-ship! 😎
There is ONE '24 Convenience of this beautiful color, in the GTA. I test drove a similar model in the touring (same 2.0), tonight. Im debating. $35 k all in Canadian. I am trying the CX 5 tomorrow so will make the call then. Thanks for the great video!
@703Speed - If you had a choice of the Subaru Crosstrek, the Mazda CX-30, and the Toyota Carolla Cross - Which would you choose? I am looking to buy on Saturday - my b-day. (Assuming they are all like trim levels).
Great review. Thanks. I think I am going to get this model it has everything I want. Good clearance 4wd automatic air-conditioning cruise control and a back up camera as well as a lot of things that are really nice like dual climate an actual spare tire auto brake hold which would be really nice in stop and go traffic since I travel to a big city 2x a month and am in small town and country back roads a lot this should keep me safely able to travel in all kinds of weather.
No roof rails is a plus. The 0-60 in this decade is a bit slow, but then again in this class of cars, most are not out to race anyway. I expect prices to drop now that lots are filled, and many people are no longer buying. On low end cars, a couple thousand off, and on higher end cars, $3K to $5K off pricing should be expected, if not now, in the near future. If the US drops into a recession or worse, the bargains might be even better.
A lot of money for a lot of plastics and CVT. For a similar amount, you could literally get base CX-5, which would be much more premium and better in every way.
I got a the premium last week since it was only $1k up from the base. So far I like it. I’m a little disappointed that the 2024 premium is lackluster compared to 2022 premium. Now you have to pay an extra $2.5k for things like moonroof, blind spot monitor and heated seats which came automatically in the 2022. Overall a nice car though. I think the base isn’t a bad deal though.
Keyless entry is the buttons on the key fob itself. Keyless access is when you’re able to walk up to the car and not have to take your key fob out of your pocket and press the button. This does not have keyless access
Just finished watching your review of the base Mazda CX-30. For a commuter who's not hauling the kids, which would you choose? Thanks for your thoughts.
Hmm.. Honestly they're right on par with each other feature wise. Really comes down to which one you like driving more. Idk, I think I kinda like the look of the Crosstrek better, but the transmission in the Mazda better
@@DaMeng3000 Maybe. However, I have found that High Beams are not needed that often. This is dependent on how the Automatic High Beam sensors / system works. For example, does this system detect viable light only, infrared, a combination of these from on coming traffic? The sensor location I would think would make a difference in the successful operation of this system. What is the Threshold of input needed to make the Automatic High Beams Turn Off? Will the system react differently to lights mounted high on a vehicle or low? A Car or Lifted Truck / SUV for example. In theory this could work. In the real world not too confident.
Thank u for reviewing the base
These trims are ignored by all the regular channels. I really appreciate your work. Nice video

The 2.5 def makes a difference
Yay you did it! I have a brand new premium in this color and love it. The smaller engine isn’t a huge deal for me.
For a small engine that some people complain about...it seems to be faster than you think from your test drive. also...it does seem very quiet.
I like the black door handles, most cars are moving away from that. I also hate giant touch screens in cars, so the base with the split screen is my only choice here!
Nice daily driver for town. Thanks for sharing. Peace bro
Subaru makes good looking cars/SUVs. I don't like only CVT gearbox in almost every new Subaru. Great review. Greetings
I agree with you there, but as far as CVT's go, Subaru's are pretty good compared to the rest
Awesome job Kenny.
Yeah of course & one day, I buy myself one.
I'd rock it as a daily.

Good first car for someone buying it themselves, and also a good first car for teens. Safe n slow.. Lol
I have a Lithium Red Wilderness. Skip the base and go for Sport and up. The 2.5L makes a big difference.
I have a premium with the 2.0L and honestly it’s good enough for me. But that’s just personal preference
Agreed
misplaced advice
Big price difference. And I don't drive on the freeway much. Just need something to get through a few inches of snow.
Great video. I subbed🎉
I now have my 2024 Crosstrek base 🤩

Agree! I want physical buttons for the HVAC!
absolutely
I’ll trade the auto rearview mirror for a smart key system.

Excellent review and test drive. Base model works for me. Nice color.
I wouldn't really call it a review. He just goes through the car's features.
Thanks for reviewing the base model.
I have a 2022 and think the interior is better and more practical. I do love the look of the new one from outside.

As a Subaru owner absolutely love this color. Also really stinks that you can only get this color on the base trim
The color is awesome
All trims should offer it..at least limited does
I ordered mine in metallic gray
Base is made in Japan, no?
We just bought a premium in that color.
I actually like that screen better than the 11 inch tablet
A Manual Transmission would be my choice in Transmissions if I had the option to choose.
Nice presentation. Japanese = quality , decent price , I would buy one .
Nice and practical
Exactly

Love my Limited Crosstrek. Just wish they’d get rid of the automatic turnoff! Thankfully there’s a button to turn it off but really get rid of it.
FYI Subaru offers a LED interior lighting package for about $ 112.00 Nice option.

It appears the Canadian "base" convenience model has more features than in video. Interesting!
Great review
I got the base a month ago
Is true the car 🚗 is slowwww
But is what u get if you are in a budget-
2024 base does have keyless entry according to others..you said it doesn't have "keyless access"
Keyless entry is the buttons on the key fob itself. Keyless access is when you’re able to walk up to the car and not have to take your key fob out of your pocket and press the button. This does not have keyless access
@@703Speed Thank you for explaining that. :)
WHAT? No roof rails on this?
Its what i wanted on mine!!!
The Crostrek Wilderness is only $5k more. I think it's worth the extra money.

It's a shame about the shocking consumption, in Italy petrol costs a lot
Nice, very detail explanation.
Anyone find a dash kit for this?
Automatic High Beams is not a good thing. This means the head light are more blinding to traffic.
So they’re brighter?
@@DaMeng3000 So, they Blind other drivers on the Road, before they adjust. This is not good.
@@tah6746I’d wager they’re faster at turning off brights than you as a person are when you encounter a vehicle.

You can turn the auto feature off and do it manually if you want to. It show it on the left side stick that you can move it to off,on and auto.
What did you pay?
bring back the manual
See can you get your hands on a jaguar
I ll buy this in 2028
Free video
I'm saying you do BMW why not a jaguar
I have a relationship with a BMW dealer, but not a Jag
😀👍👍👍
I expected better engine performance from a boxer engine. This is more like my 1978 Ford Pinto.
The infotainment system on the base model is just so hideous and criminal 😭
Subaru is “all in” on ugly 🤣
I actually think these look pretty good
@@703Speed It is great looking. People just like to talk.
