One Of The Greatest Coaches In NFL History. A Legendary Defensive Coordinator, The Leader Of 3 Of The Greatest Defenses Winning 3 Super Bowls . His First Team As 49ers Head Coach, The Team Was 15-1, Cumulating In A 55-10 Victory Over The John Elway Denver Broncos. It’s A Travesty And Disgrace That George Seifert Is Not In The NFL Hall Of Fame.
@@williamstocker584 I'd say Hall of Very Good caliber (say on the same tier as Dan Reeves, Chuck Knox, and a few others who had good careers but not quite enough to make it to Canton). He admittedly coached a couple championship teams, but everyone acknowledges that he was handed a tremendous amount of talent for the first ring, and the second one still featured a quarterback and top target from before he was a head coach. I don't expect him to ever make Canton, though I will say that there is one coach who has a similarly bad three season tenure at the end of his career who eventually made it to Canton: Tom Flores, whose Seattle years netted an even worse record than Siefert in Carolina. Good tenure as a coordinator regardless of what you think of his coaching career.
He's OK nothing like Bill Walsh. He made stupid decisions that really tore the lockeroom and the franchise apart especially his relationships with Charles Haley and Steve Young
He was a way better coach than Bill Walsh. Compare the win % of the two. One could argue Walsh won because Seifert was his DC. Walsh was terrible at Stanford
Sounds like Dwight Hicks narrarting this great documentary. Loved George Seifert's tenure as 49er head coach. Go 49ers!
He's truly a great!
A great coach!

Never should’ve went to Carolina smh. He’d have been in Canton 2 decades ago.
I think his time in Carolina ruined his chances of getting in the hall of fame

Dan reeves was a better coach than george seifert.
I believe I remember him coaching the 49ers. I was back in 9th grade. San Francisco had Joe Montana, Steve Young, and people like Jerry Rice.
And people like Charles Haley
Not to mention: Richard Dent, Ken Norton Jr., Eric Davis, Deion Sanders. Man that defense of the 90s was something.

He was a defensive coach. Haley was a prick.
