One thing I've learned from Skyrim, if you keep re-releasing, remastering and realtering the same game over and over and over again, the studio has no faith in future plans and has completely run out of ideas. This is legit, their own way to maintain any form of relevancy, and that's a bad sign
u know what's also weird about those Sony sequels? Each one of them is selling less and less from Part 1 just 1 example: TLOU 1 sold around 23m copies while Part 2 sold just 10 m copies
The Horizon games are in this strange spot for me, like they're fine games, look and run great and I do enjoy them but they just feel so generic in a lot of ways.
Horizon forbidden west was an amazing game, I loved it. Not story wise as much, but the gameplay part of it. It gets WAY too much underserved hate for no reason, when the gameplay is really, really fun.
It's probably because it's another serving of Horizon with the improvements one would expect of a direct sequel. A known quantity if you will. It also launched alongside Elden Ring. You see conventional open world games can feel kinda awkward standing next to Elden Ring. When you take two and two together you find Horizon Forbidden West stuck between a rock and a hard place.
I can understand this if the game was mainly gameplay focus, but Forbidden west isnt mainly gameplay focus, its a story game first and foremost, and a story can effect a game playability/replayability.. a game can have a great gameplay, but if the writing isn't up to par. Than the game isn't that fun. For example I'll play borderlands 2 over, and over again because the gameplay is really fun.. (Ultimate Vault hunter is BS with how difficult it is, but I manage to fix it.) I have over 1000 hours in the game. And is able to recite some lines in it word for word. But borderlands 3 which in all rights is a lot better gameplay than BL2. But it has a worse story. And it's story is literally the only reason I dont replay it even though it's gameplay is leagues better than BL2. I have yet to complete the story for Tina Wonderlands because the story is an absolute bore for me. And I could give examples about games that are exclusively gameplay focused... like minecraft, survival games like seven days to die, Zeepkist, and what not. And those not having a story never stopped me from enjoying them The games with a focus on a story, can make it unplayable if they are bad.
A story focused game with heavy cut scenes and a weak story but you can't understand the hate it gets? Okay, what about knowing the Sony push for all things Horizon? After knowing this is a thing, do you understand it now?
The things about Horizon is that it has amazing gameplay but a very bland world and protagonist. Most characters are boring as well . The world is colorful yet feels boring and lifeless
Heck, I loved the first game and still was annoyed by forced "you have to think of this as the next big thing approach" from Sony. I mean it's a game where you hunt flippin robot dinosaurs. And the gameplay is quite good. Why not just let this organically grow into something rather than forcing it on people. I do want to play the second game but at the same time this entire approach is just throwing me off for some reason.
Honestly when they annouced a lego game i laughed so hard no fan of horizon has ever asked for it. Sony's been annoying with horizon though aswell since they released horizon zero dawn remastered and the lego game then figured theyd remove not only horizon zero dawn off ps plus extra to try to get people to buy the remaster but they also removed forbidden west off ps extra yet they compare their subscription service to xbox's who keep their games on there even when they release a remaster and put their first party games on game pass day 1
Horizon is obviously really popular in terms of sales and personally i find the story very interesting, but I don't think i know anyone who is invested in that series like a Zelda or TLOU. The games are fun but not genre defining
What? Not connecting to it? The series has sold like 33 million copies. Lego Horizon is struggling because the game isn't good. It has nothing to do with the franchise.
Hopefully, this doesn't change Sony's perspective of the whole franchise and decide to leave it behind. The rumored multiplayer game sounds fun, but I would rather have a single-player horizon game that you can play as Aloy or give you the option to build your own character🤷♂️
Why you not talking about Indy??? THE GAME HAS FLOPPED HARD!!! 6,912 players right now 6,912 24-hour peak 12,138 all-time peak 12 days ago Cant even hit 13k LOL The budget is insane and the sales number well, They said nothing which means they not even hit 1 million sold! One of the biggest flops of 2024!
I believe the majority of people is playing it on gamepass so i don't think looking at steam players is a fair metric. That being said i don't know if being played on gamepass is good for the game or not
@@tomch6799 People need to stop with the game pass Stalker 2 was on gamepass and lots and lors of other games as well did WAYYYY better then this! You can see the numbers dont lie! Its one of the biggest flops!
Let's also not forget that PSVR2's big exclusive launch game was Horizon. One of the other possible IPs would have been way more appealing to me. Okay, namely Astro Bot.
I didn't touch it because its on Switch and not PS4. Sony wants me, a fan that buys their 1st party games in the MILLIONS in the first week on sale to buy this, when its on Nintendo Switch and not PS4? Nah Sony, you deserve for this to flop and you should have learned from all PC versions of your single player, which is ALL you are talking about in this video..... they ALL FLOP HARRRRRRRD. You want Nintendo sales, then I hope they all bought it lol. Even FF16 was a complete and utter failure on PC when they managed to finally port it over, 9 months later AFTER the 6 month timed exclusivity ended in Dec 2023. Oh but it launching on PC in mid 2023 on PC, in an even more broken state, would have sold so much better and being only on PS5 hurt it, BS. But come on Luke, a PS single player franchise or release on PC flopped hard? Like every single one of them so far like Ghost of Tsushima???? No wayyyyy.
I look at the face of the main character and having seen artwork on how it devolved from artwork to first release to second game and remake, I decided to boycott the series entirely.
_Horizon_ is amazing, but I don't understand why the hell they would make a Lego game out of it
For the kids
Ironically Aloy’s body in Horizon 2 looks like a Lego Minifigure
These people don’t understand what gamers want to play and it’s literally their job.
No their job is to create things no one REALIZED they wanted to play. No one asked for the original Horizon Zero Dawn and it became a massive hit.
Developers aren’t the one dictating the direction
We are talking about Sony, who though Concord was a sure thing whit the best characters ever.
It needs a remaster, can't play it the way it is
I love LEGO games. They're easy, cheesy fun. But I haven't paid more than $5 for one in 20 years.

Ehh TLOU 1& 2 is a bad example considering the PR storm ND went through with it leaks etc
Spiderman 1 & 2 is a better comparison no?
Correction Last of us 1 was good, 2nd game was shlop.
To you yes
Keep jerkin: Last Jedi, Captain Marvel, Rachel Zegler, Sweet Baby Inc, Rings of Power
LEGO hasn't had a good game since the early 2010s

Ppl who dont play horizon know it for the story, which is one of the worst parts of it. You cant really get a feel of horizons gameplay through video.
The things about Horizon is that it has amazing gameplay but a very bland world and protagonist. Most characters are boring as well . The world is colorful yet feels boring and lifeless

Most people play Lego solo. The only real measure is copies sold.
The writing and messaging in the sequel was annoying…I abandoned the game where I had 296 hrs logged in the first one.
I love the horizon games, the story and the world and especially the music! It just feels like a classic action adventure game
horizon is sonys game industry plant
It’s better to have new IP at the moment than miking the same franchise. Horizon needs a break since the 2rd game can’t out a few years ago
My thoughts also on this game. My coworkers looked at me weird when I said it was just ok🤷🏻♂️
Its for children
Latter I learn the game was made by Guerrilla and other studio, another thing I dont belive was true the game have 20 minutes end credit.
Why do people hate this game??? It is a fun game
should of done god of war, and put competent devs on the project
The OG trilogy would have been great
I have yet to meet 1 single person online who genuinely likes Horizon franchise, i have no idea why it's selling that much, so generic
Hopefully, this doesn't change Sony's perspective of the whole franchise and decide to leave it behind. The rumored multiplayer game sounds fun, but I would rather have a single-player horizon game that you can play as Aloy or give you the option to build your own character🤷♂️
