Perhaps I’m wrong, but isn’t this more of a video about pedal order than gain staging? Isn’t gain staging more about setting optimal levels for the next thing in the chain, regardless of what it might be? I get that with guitars some pedals work well in a certain order going from low gain to high gain probably, but it feels like if the video is about gain staging it would be more about finding the optimal output volumes going from one pedal to another.
Great video for describing gain stages and stacking! Think there's room to talk about staging gain in amps? Boost, distortion preamp or in the loop, even changing preamp tubes can have an effect on the flavor of gain character. Y'all rock keep rocking
I'm a big fan of the BOSS/JHS Angry Driver, which is an Angry Charlie and a Blues Driver in one pedal. You can go from AC into BD, or vice-versa, run parallel, and each is a separate circuit.
Could you do one on how to get some of the more common Metal tones? E.g.: The Metallica Black album tone, the Dimebag Darrel tone, the Black Sabbath tone.

I have four distortion pedals and will stack 2 or 3 with different settings and sounds that complement each other, and build things up

Right now I've got an EP Booster going into a Waza Craft Blues Driver into a Duke Of Tone.
