- We reveal the finalists of the Monochrome Wildlife round of the Pangolin Photo Challenge Wildlife Photography competition. These stunning wildlife images will be whittled down to just one winning photograph to be announced at the end of the week.

Wow amazing once again, got goosebumps, such beautiful photos, I don't know how the judges can choose.
I love the first one and the polar bear 3.06, the gorilla at 3.06 such an emotive expression. They are all worthy finalists.

WOW, what an amazing collection of stunning photography. It's going to be hard to judge. CONGRATS to all those photographers whose work we've been blessed to see. My first choice though is the opening shot of the Lion - you can feel the movement, the capture is stunning with the in focus waterdrops, you know what's coming next because you can just feel it. Stunning.
Time mark 1:41 Elephants marching through parched land. The sky makes this photo my favourite.

Congrats to all the finalists. There are some beautiful images in this collection. My choice is the Cape Buffalo in the dust. It is a unique perspective that was captured and processed beautifully. I also loved the Sea Turtle image for the same reasons.

Wonderful photos displaying how monochrome is an art in its' own right. Interestingly enough, although there are different judges for the categories there seems to be a theme developing as to the types of pictures that make it to the finals. To the point if you colorized a couple of them, they'd be very close to Finalist in previous categories. I'm not a contestant, merely an observer. It's a wonderful contest.
Super images. Again. Personally my winner is the very first image of the lion shaking the water from its manes. My runner-up is the high-key image of the yawning hippopotamus.
That lion is proving to be a popular pick!
Tough choice!! I LOVED the baby croc. Also the turtle with the coral and the zebra backs but really any one of these deserves to win.
Judges have tough job on this one. There are always so many great photos entered, I find it easier to pick the ones that wouldn't make the list rite from the get-go, maybe about 13. And even they were very nice images but there are some very special images with some very nice light in this one. I would need a month to pick a winner & even then there could be a three-way tie or more for first place at that! Good luck to all!

My favourite is 4:26 under the Kenyan sky. There are a lot of wonderful animal studies and portraits in this collection.
Lovely shot of some lesser photographed antelope.
Great selection, but for me the hippo with it's mouth wide open would win
I like the first photo (lion shaking himself dry like a dog)...
My favourites, in chronological order: @1:20 elephants, very strong and powerful; @2:43 lions in tree, very majestic and ruling; @3:07 close-up portrait of Gorilla, sombre and sad; @3:17 Cheetah in tree, showing the gentle side of nature. All of the photos in the final are pretty fabulous
The group of elephants walking across the dry pan is my absolute favourite and would be a worthy winner!

Amazing photos. It's so difficult to choose the best, but I would vote for the lion shaking water, or the two cheetahs playing (their tails!). I also like the little croc on top of its mother (we only see part of her), and the picture of the high key turtle coming in water. Good luck to all!

Buffalo coming out of the dust would be my davourite, or maybe the polar bear. That lion portrait is excellent as well....

Lion at 4:52 is very beautiful
Lovely, the first of the lion shaking water from his mane, probably my favourite although i thought the backs of the zebra was very clever.
Zebras are always great subject matter...underrated!
For Me, The Elephant herd striding across the vast plain of sun cracked parched clay captures the big picture of Africa and lends itself to monochrome far more than most of the other images.
I very nice choice.

The turtle 🎉
They are all so fabulous. But I’m drawn to those that are completely unique, the turtle underwater with just the outline of the coral. I also love the backlit cat with the reflection in the water. And two others… the two albatross (the contrast is stunning) and the baby croc peering over the jagged back of the adult. I’m glad I’m not a judge!

All great photo's, my picks are the lion shaking water from it's mane, and the hippo yawning.
They were all extremely good images, but wow, 1:20 is so powerful I'm blown away.
i like the image of a monkey siting sideways 1:59, staring into something and reflecting. such an epic picture
