That 57 + DVT both look fresh out of the works, nice catch!
Blimey.. not been to Peterborough for YEARS. Lots of change, new platforms etc... shame the bakery has gone, the smell of bread cooking as we stood on the end of Platforms 4 and 5 was lovely!
hi another great video. Hopefully one day our paths will cross on a station somewhere :) keep up the good work :)
I doubt the Intercity Express trains will ever be as successful as the Intercity 125s that they are replacing. But, they better be as impressive as the Intercity 125. I am rather disappointed with the Class 395, as they don't really have any good passing-by sound. The reason why I pick up on the Class 395 here is because I am expecting the Class 801 to be pretty similar, and the Class 800 when it is in electric mode. I hope I am wrong about my worries...
The Intercity 225s sound very similar to the Pendolinos, I have just noticed.
Sam Jones I disagree, the class 91 is a very distinctive sound, the blower fans are much louder than a pendolino or as I like to call them crapolino's
James T Good for you.
James T I think he means when passing at speed. They sound completely different on startup, as you have said.
Why is the full Virgin DVT not on the re-branded set?
On holiday?
Sam Jones On Holiday? Rlly, DVTs cannot go on Holiday! XD
Will Scriven They regularly get swapped about due to different maintenance requirements to the mk4 coaches. Issues with the control + cab equipment can see them needing repairs more frequently and the set then has to use whatever loco/DVT is available.
