- Machiventa Melchizedek’s bestowal on Urantia is expressly described in multiple passages as an "emergency" revelation, undertaken by the planet’s Melchizedek receivers "in the manner of their own election" after the Most Highs of Edentia declined to answer their petition that "some provision be made for maintaining the light of truth on Urantia." Paper 93:1.2 (page 1014.4)
Part I, the first 31 Papers, of The Urantia Book were authorized by the Ancients of Days on Uversa. See Paper 31:10.22 (page 354.8). The Nebadon order of Melchizedek Sons were actively involved in the revelation of Parts II, III, and IV, supervising the presentation of those 165 Papers, authoring 27 of them; and Machiventa is listed as a "collaborator" on at least one. See Paper 56:10.22 (page 648.5).
Chris will help us explore the question of whether The Urantia Book is also an "emergency" revelation and, more importantly, what parallels might be drawn between the circumstances of its provision with the decision to undertake Machiventa’s mission - as well as what parallels might we not wish to draw between these two related, yet very different, epochal revelations.

What an amazing and delightful surprise to see Chris Wood in this capacity! I first met him as one of the little boys running around the house during our study group. I was at his wedding. Been away for some years and lost track, so cool to see what a man he is now!

As a Jesus believing person I know my Bible. But when I came across the book of Urantia about a year ago it has been an eye opener in my opinion its an amazing revelation of GOD, if you walk in the spirit you will understand the things. God's spirit it's self gives testimony of it's self that is the word of GOD.

I'm new to this book. Is the Urantia belief system New Age? The "Eras" he referenced, sound similar to Age of Aquarius concepts.
Hi Revrepeat, Im unfamiliar with the specific Age of Aquarius comparison, but the text does speak broadly to different stages/ages/"epochs" of development - inclusive of our spiritual evolution. Different events of importance are associated with the various "ages".
As for beliefs, The Urantia Book has influenced people's beliefs, but it is not itself a religion. Many from diverse religious backgrounds incorporate The Urantia Book's teachings into their personal philosophies.

Will anyone recognize Jesus when he comes let alone believe him. His name and body powers in thearoy won't be the same.
When He comes He might be easy to identify because of the hatred that some royals will direct at Him.
Intellectualizing a revelation is a sure means of defeat. While all true religion is an intellectual process, one must first engage with the emotional aspect of the human mind. The revelators are immensely more knowledgeable and intelligent than we humans. Citing inferior human sources as proof of Truth is demeaning to the revelators and the readers. I’m sure the attempt is to divert references to a more acceptable human view, but it is ineffective. Several misrepresentations of the FER were uttered along with the sterile atmosphere of a collegiate classroom. Jesus urged the union of nature as the background with the gospel. Both the Foundation and the fellowship act as if they’ve never read, or believed, the Urantia Book. Sad.
How does one "engage with the emotional aspect of the human mind?"
