So instead of listening to this wisdom, I find myself just staring at Jeff’s watch. The way the light catches the bezel, that gorgeous dial…good grief!
I lost weight by not dieting. I deliberately don't diet. Not for years. I've been within about 3 kg of the same weight. I've always liked healthy food. So I have three rules. No over-processed food. Eat three times a day, and never snack. If I stick to that 95% of the time I can eat as much as I like at each meal time. Likewise I found it far more relaxing to only wear 2 watches a week. Seiko for the work watch, Swiss for non work days. Then rotate them back in the safe and two new ones out for the next week. I'm still terrible at faffing about with strap changes. Glad you had life refreshing holiday
A day isn't a long time. Just make small adjustments each day or two or three, it's easy to manage small changes or even tiny ones because you don't really notice them. They do add up though and you'll be sure to notice that. A day isn't a long time. 500 days is, but lived a day at a time it's just a day. Nice vid Jeff, keep 'em coming mate!
I think finding an aerobic sport that you truly enjoy doing is a key ingredient to sustainable weight control, in addition to calorie restriction. That SLA055 is stunning!
I think I agree with the metamorphosis theory. It's what worked for me. I shifted to a vegetarian diet quite naturally, like my body wanted it. This was very different back in the days when I tried to be vegetarian for several years. It felt like effort. This time, I needed the change. Then I decided that I must get outdoors for at least an hour every day: walking , biking, hiking, etc. Helps a lot too.
200 pounds is my goal too. I gained a bunch of weight after some youtuber introduced me to Peanut Butter Captain Crunch. I’ve already lost 30 pounds. You can do it 👍
The only thing that worked for me was only eating between 11am and 7pm daily Not easy to do though....I did give up eventually... it did bring the best results though. I may try to reduce my carbs and need to totally quit snacks, crisps, biscuits, ice cream etc
In the uk we have Slimming World. My wife was a consultant for them for 10 year's and 5 years on we still practice the cooking methods. I'm 50 5'8" and 145 pounds. This is a way of life not a quick fix. I wish i could control my watch collection it's at 50 at the moment.
I call getting under 200 (from 250 or so): "breaking the sound barrier." It's hard, but possible, and quite a paradigm shifter and confidence booster to go even further.
I have a fix for our consumerism and watch addiction. I'm currently on a self enforced break from watches - a kind of rehab I suppose. Two words for you - Casio W59.... it is the sweetest little watch (and for people who prefer bigger watches - G shock 5600e).... I've been clean for 3 days so far. My omega is on Ebay. Life is good 😅
I did the same, I grabbed the SLA047 new and haven’t touched anything else in over a month. My Oris Cal 400 is listed and my two other GS and Seiko will be happy in the box until called upon. Honestly, changing up the RUclips algorithm helps a lot as well.
My wife & I make it a goal to lose weight during vacation. I have lost 5 lbs. on a 10-day Hawaii vacation. Snorkeling & swimming everyday, tons of walking with healthy eating. Works every time.
For me the best way is low carb and high fat diet ( not meat only because it gets really boring), combined with fasting. Some people find it really hard to stick to a diet - those benefit greatly from glp-1 analog therapy
Maybe losing weight is an accompanying side effect to another purpose or aspiration. You grab your sword and go fight the dragon, instead of waiting for it to come and eat you, and you set yourself up in the right stance (Not my words). Indeed self discipline is very rewarding in itself, so you don't ever go back, because you are somehow a better, stronger master of yourself. Stoicism is the word that would sum it.
Welcome back McMahon, sorry to hear you got sick for a part of your vacation. Thanks for the video, it was a good refresher on self discipline/self control
Consumerism leads to anger anger leads to hate hate leads to suffering suffering leads to the dark side.

Excellent, ty.
Self discipline 💪 is freedom
Finding that water shutoff valve probs made you feel more manly than any watch ever did. Im proud of you!
A small manageable watch collection and a small manageable belly. Nirvana.

Less is more. 5 watch collection and very pleased as it can only become less.

@Not-a-bot222 great comment thanks. Yeah this hobby can send you into a spiral. It's nice to just have one or two watches
@@Valera_Scotland absolutely friend! Best of luck! Enjoy that Casio !

Good stuff McMahon, glad you’re back to help us all attain that 5% group.
Cutting out alcohol, intermittent fasting, limiting sweets and portion size works for me, but it’s definitely getting harder as I approach 50!😬

Thanks for this. Make the videos you don't think you should, McMahon.
You remind me of Bruce Willis, but cool.
Get a taste of Indian butter chicken with garlic naan if you love Mexican food 😀
Stoic Jedi?
I shouldn’t even leave this comment but Miami sucks
I haven't been there since 1994. I assume it's crowded.
