My man putting out an excellent, information dense lesson in 4 minutes. It's a lot easier to follow and respects everyones time. Too many times the simple concepts are stretched out to 20+ minutes and by the end you're zoning out and more confused than before. Nice!
Simple answer is a fret wrap, when recording it makes it really easy to get a clean recording. However this is a great help to overall improve playing!
You can still do this without having your wrist at a weird angle, it can feel weird at first, but will sound better in the long run! Definitely want to be careful not to hurt anyone's wrist though, it can be surprisingly easy to screw up your wrist playing guitar.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate that
Problem with that is your fretting hand wrist will be at 90 degrees and slow down your fingers and possibly lead to wrist injury.

Just buy a noise gate?
A noise gate will only go so far, without sacrificing tone and dynamics. I always use a gate, but still want to use good muting techniques.
