Emily and Russ have one of the nicest communities around and are genuinely some of the nicest humans in general! Love the innovation and talent coming from these two!
I always watched the videos of Emily where she's this sweet goofy artist that tests pedals and makes funny noises. I never realized that she has this combo (stupid me). I absolutely love the idea that another person is playing the FX pedals as if they were an instrument. That makes every piece a unique conversation between two individuals that are playing with the same song. It's almost as if songwriting had a new level of interpretation, because the texture and atmosphere of the song is apllied while playing it. Really, really cool concept. I guess this is not new, but it's new for me. Thank you for the content Earthquaker, Emily and Russ! Also, I absolutely love the fact that the FX pedal community is a big family and friendly competition. That's so rare.
I'm really amazed at how well thought out the pedal board is. You can tell everything has a place and a purpose, and even if Em doesn't have Russ around she can still access and control a lot of functions/parameters. Pure dopeness
Really fun breakdown of the board and how everything worked with both harps, the routing to me is the most fascinating part as depending on the situation how everything is accessible with the preset switch or sliders is easily to get to and change on the fly. Thank you for having them Earthquaker Devices! This was a treat!
Emily and Russ are the best, so excited to see them here! I literally got into pedals because of their review of the astral destiny so this is a match made in heaven for me :D
This is wonderful! I love her playing and the innovation of the harp through pedals. I had the pleasure of meeting Emily and Russ at Earthquaker Day; they are super cool people!
This is such a cool breakdown and demo! And, awesome to see you both, and hear y'all talk about the flow between the two of you, and the pedals. Keep it wheezy.
That is a dream pedalboard for sure. I feel like we don’t see the Astral Destiny nearly enough. And Emily and Russ are so, so fantastic. A perfect complement to Earthquaker. Keep up the great work and thank you for doing so!
YO, I don't know who these people are, but they know their gear! So many usable and musical sounds. Not to mention the top notch musicality coming from Emily's hands! Very cool big ups kush 420 blaze it
Another great video. You definitely need to get in touch with Mick and Dan at That Pedal Show and GIG Rig to help control that monster. #gigrig #thatpedalshow
Wow!! This is truly beautiful!!!! As a bass player I’m slightly new to the pedal life I own the astral destiny, I see that dark star and really want that !! Some death by audio pedals as well and Fairfield is so amazing as well!! The meet maude and shallow water!! Old blood noise endeavor too!, that plus pedal sounds like it can add so Much to it! Everything you are playing is so intense and emotional! I love it so much!!
I'm always so surprised to see people in the USA still wearing masks. In Europe we stopped wearing them years ago sincd everyone is vaccinated and the new covid variants are not really dangerous anymore. Is covid back in the USA or something ? I ask this question often but I never seem to get any answers.
I can't imagine the bill if the average Joe wanted to recreate your board. I definitely understand you need different sounds on harp compared to guitar but WOW , some of those pedals cost over $300 and you have many. My most expensive pedals don't even make it on my board. 1 is a talkbox. That 1 needs a mic and for everyone's ears I don't sing so don't have a mic. And the other 1 is a more expensive version of 1 that is on my board. A Butler Tube driver. On my board is a bias knob modded older 3 knob. On the shelf is a 5 knob newer model that's bigger and has its own cord. More problems having that on the board. Each them was $240 and everything in use was way cheaper than that. My whole board including used board and power unit 12 pedals and EBS Gold flat cables and a few extra power cables didnt run much over $1000.
Alright Now I'm really jealous you got a Russ to control your board. Someone needs to clone a Russ model and sell that at a Earthquaker show. Even though I put my board on a music stand and can change settings and pedals on the fly, can't do that while still playing guitar. Anyways I want my Russ clone to be female and foxy so cam mess up and blame her. Just like a guy would.
Thank you so much for having us! ❤ this was so much fun!
Nothing but good vibes! Halloween is gonna be a blast!
This was wonderful❤️😌
We NEED a vinyl album of your music. Have you got anything planned?
Come back soon! ❤️❤️❤️
You are an annoyingly interesting and talented person

I couldn't agree more.

It's new to me too! Didn't think that it was really a thing!

Thanks for checking it out! Agreed, the routing on her board is very well thought out 😎

Love these two. Emily and Russ's Wednesday night streams are a blast.
Very cool. Tasty like a gourmet meal!
Oh yes!

Well your all set, time to hit the road and bring the Emily and Russ show to the world 🌎,
This is such a cool breakdown and demo! And, awesome to see you both, and hear y'all talk about the flow between the two of you, and the pedals. Keep it wheezy.
🤣*Wheeeeeze*
Thanks for watching!
Cool board. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Love that last jam with the fuzz in the mix! 😍 that’s definitely one of the hottest boards I’ve ever seen! 😚👌
We agree!
It’s great seeing you both having so much fun doing something you obviously love!! ❤

Thanks so much for the kind words!
Such wonderful collaborators. They have such a unique sound.

Super thoughtful board design, thanks for breaking it down!

Super cool.
This was great.
I have two of those pedals. Hizumatas and Avalanche. Love them!
It’s probably good they held off their secret weapon: The Fart Pedal
And the green Donner guitar.
now this is epic
right?!
Very cool to see Russ on camera!
this is epic
There are some nice sounds thru that board! Fuzz on the bass is rad
Could be more bass on the bass fuzz mix tho. Nice ending on it

Much to it! Everything you are playing is so intense and emotional! I love it so much!!
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed the episode :) Emily is the best!!
Oh hey, I know these two!
🏆😌👍
What's up with the illuminated Transmisser prop? Interesting choice for decor, being a discontinued pedal... I love it so much, I have two!
Cool sounds
Never thought of putting an eq , compressor and boost at the beginning of the chain.
Pretty neat.
Trying to eventually see that Emily Hopkins’s Lisa Bella Donna jam!!!
@4:55 we all need a little boost sometimes😎👍(great editing phellas)
We sure do!😉
Emily rocks!
15:32 Shit yeah. Doom it up!
💥
This is beautiful but why does Russ remind me of Gannon??
❤️ 🖤
My goodness has John Denver been reborn to play harp.. Earthquaker Devices will give us a Rocky Mountain "HIGH"! 😵😲
El harpa es el mejor midi 😍
I think I'm getting the sickness, because I may have understood most of what's going on with that board.
Nice
C'est très innovateur les sonorités sont magnifiques .. 👍❤️
// Je comprends pas ce vient faire le titre ici ....board to death ? 🙄
Does raising your arms after plucking a note sustain the sound?
its for releasing the tension in the palms and wrists
Is the signal going in to the Microcosm mono or stereo? Thanks 😊
Mono! because the amp at the end of the board is in mono! I should get a second amp and run in stereo 😂
Sick video! SUBSCRIBED :)
AWESOME thank you!!🙌
Russ did a good job.
He did a GREAT job 😉
How am I just seeing this? The algorithm was wrong!
thought they were gonna play the blink 182 song
This is what Sleaford Mods would be if they were brought up on good homecooked meals and not egg and chips.

This was shot a the tail end of the pandemic. It came out one year ago, but was shot long before that.

Put a looper on the floor and the pedals on a stand.
